Yes, when it's cool and cloudy...there's nothing better to do than stay in and curl up with a good book!

A bit of June Gloom....that's what's in store for the rest of the month. If you're inland though...you'll probably see more sun and warmer temps.

I love days like these...Don't you? Sizzling summer temps are right around the corner and we'll soon be daydreaming of cooler days.

WIth the past gloomy weekends in May...I've been able to get through so much of James Michener's epic novel.."HAWAII". I was drawn to pick it up recently after hearing about the author's recent passing. It was once required reading for me in school. But I never got around to it. The size alone is enough to make you run away from it.

But now...considering that I am from Hawaii afterall...I felt it was time to embrace it. I'm so glad I did. It's a book I can't put down. I'm about 75% finished and I'm starting to feel sad that I'm almost to the end.

If you've read it...I'd love to hear your comments.

What other summer reads do you recommend? My goal is to get through Pulitzer Prize winning books. Wish me luck!

Hey "Perky" Maria, Perky on my FOX Newscaster's list of one worder's that is...what about E-Books?

Also a long time ago, when I was a tad younger, I had been an expert alpine snowskier. We used to have "Alpine's" Hot Apple Cider and throw in a true cinnamon stick as a stir. Now that is cuddling up.....of course with a good story (not mine of course)...

Maria,

You're a very atractive woman, but, some of these comments are way out of line. Too bad.
However, books are out right now. The real story to read is Los Angeles Mayor, Antonio Villar, has officially separated from his wife and kids of 20 years. Not only a lousy mayor, a lousy husband as well. But, then again, he's been runnin' around on his wife for years. Loser!!

Well I know my comment is funny, but hopefully never rude.

On the mayor, he didn't even graduate with a high school diploma, instead he had to get a certificate in place of that, and he is your mayor.

He also freed a drug dealer of a wealthy parent so need people say more?

I remember hearing a story that Steve Jobs did something like this too, when he got more famous, but not sure of the entire story. Oh well, perhaps there will be a brighter future for Los Angeles.

he's not dead, he just wrote himself out of the script. he wants to spend more time with his grand kids and family. his kids are old enough to take over for a while. he desirves a vacation. he has worked so hard for many years. the wwe is his life.

At least his staged death was better than the one on the Sopranos!

hell yeah. the wwe knows how to create so great images. did you see when the owners son fell from a 60ft scaffold and landed on a couple of tables? did anyone see tlc 1 and 2. tlc stands for tables ladders and chairs. one of the most brutal matches ever made up besides the inferno match, and the elimination chamber match. if your haven't then check them out. or just buy the new wwe dvd "the ladder match". 9 hours of hardcore ladder matches.

You might enjoy Pat Riley's Showtime if you haven't already read it, it's about the 80's Lakers and how they bounced back from losing to Houston in '86. An inspiring read.
