A cabbie picks up a Nun.
She gets into the cab, and notices that the VERY handsome cab driver won't stop staring at her.

She asks him why he is staring.
He replies: 'I have a question to ask you but I don't want to offend you.'
She answers, 'My son, you cannot offend me. When you're as old as I am and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything. I'm sure that there's nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive.'

'Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me.'
She responds, 'Well, let's see what we can do about that:
#1, you have to be single and
#2, you must be Catholic.'
The cab driver is very excited and says,
'Yes, I'm single and Catholic!'

'OK' the nun says. 'Pull into the next alley.'
The nun fulfills his fantasy, with a kiss that would make a hooker blush.

But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying.
'My dear child,' says the nun, 'why are you crying?'
'Forgive me but I've sinned. I lied and I must confess, I'm married and I'm Jewish.'

The nun says, 'That's OK.

My name is Bob and I'm on my way to a Halloween party.'

Does it really matter who becomes president?  WHY?  The lessor of the 2 evils is McCain, he has more experiance, and he has a record...Obama does not...Obama has changed his mind on several key issues, taxes, healthcare, off shore drilling.... Obama has some questionable friends... Making promises is one thing, delivering on them is another... The point I am trying to make here, is neither McCain nor Obama can change the state of the economy, and if government  does we will have worse problems than we do now... So really it's about keeping your money... Obama's tax plan has changed so much, how does anyone know who will be taxed? His credibility STINKS...He voted with McCain on tax hikes for the middle class...Irregardless who becomes president, they are taking on a huge problem, Obama is an intern... Experiance get's my vote...

It took a lot of pushing, name calling and personal attacks to finally force me from Barack Obama's bandwagon. That's right. I will not be casting my vote for Obama and if you believe today's polls, my vote doesn't matter.

But it matters to me, win or lose.

A few weeks back I wrote a column that said I was "undecided." Many of Obama's supporters took this to mean that I would be voting for Senator John McCain. I did another column asking, "What is it that liberals do not understand about the word "undecided?"

That opened up the floodgates. Some of the kinder words aimed at me were stupid bastard, ignorant S.O.B., not a real Indian, in the back pocket of the Republicans, and then the comments degenerated into words beginning with the letter "F".

I was taught that liberals are the ones with the open hearts and minds. Wrong! "You're either for Obama or you're not worth my spit," is what I hear from liberals today.

I listened to the supporters of Obama and read his plans for Indian country, but I was not impressed. His platform is a platform of promises. In my more than 30 years in the field of Indian media I have heard hundreds of politicians stand at the podium and say "Here is what I intend to do for you." After reading the record of John McCain I settled on his record. He was able to say, "Here is what I have already done for you."

Going to do or have done? If some of the tribal leaders out there would take off their blinders they would recall politicians that said "I promise" and have met few that could proudly say, "This I have done." One spews another long list of promises, the other presents a long list of accomplishments. Accomplishments or more promises: Which is best for Indian country?

Senator McCain fought for and sponsored the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. Since it became law NAGPRA has returned the remains of hundreds of Indians to their homelands for proper burial. The law has also protected Indian gravesites from demolition until the remains could be safely removed.

McCain has attempted to stop the federal recognition of Indian tribes by preventing them from going through the back door to gain recognition. He strongly opposes federal lawmakers from bypassing the Bureau of Indian Affairs and granting recognition to Indian tribes without fully exploring and investigating their claims of legitimacy.

Why did so many presidents of Indian colleges jump into the tank for Obama when it was McCain who has been their strongest supporter in Congress? McCain sponsored the legislation to reauthorize tribal colleges and he cast his vote in favor of the Native American Languages Act.

There is only one Native American serving as a federal judge in this Nation. She serves the District of Arizona and her name is Diane J. Humetewa, Hopi. She was appointed by Senator John McCain of Arizona.

When a Nation is in financial turmoil as America is today the people that fall to the bottom of the list of promises are Native Americans. Remember the adage, "Out of sight, out of mind?"

Former Republican Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell, Northern Cheyenne, threw his support behind McCain and since then has been severely lambasted by the Indian media. McCain also has the support of Republican Representative Tom Cole, Chickasaw, of Oklahoma. Cole has also taken his lumps from Indians he once considered his friends.

For those Indians who believe that Sen. Obama will somehow be more magnanimous to Indians simply because he is a minority, consider this: Many thousands of Indians were relocated from their reservations to cities like Dallas, Cleveland, Oakland and Los Angeles 50 years ago and they were moved into Black communities headed by Black community organizers. When the loaves of bread were handed out whom do you think ended up with the crumbs? Don't take my word for it. Ask someone who has been on relocation. Ask the Indians in Chicago, Obama's home territory, about what he didn't do for them. I did.

In the end it all amounts to what one man has done and what the other has promised. Done deeds or more promises? How many times in the past have I heard tribal leaders complain about broken promises. In the 1970s when Elijah Whirlwind Horse was President of the Oglala Sioux Tribe I served as his Director of Public Relations. He said something that has always stuck with me. He said, "You can't take promises to the grocery store."

So at the risk of alienating family members, longtime friends and Democratic politicians, I will cast my vote for the man that "has done," rather than the one who says, "I promise."

(Tim Giago, an Oglala Lakota, was born, raised and educated on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. He was the founder and first president of the Native American Journalists Association and the founder and publisher of Indian Country Today, the Lakota Times, and the Dakota/Lakota Journal. He was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard in the Class of 1991.

What I can't believe is you people on the MO side you listen to our news everyday. You know our Gov does not live in springfield but costs us thousands of dollars flying in from Chicago. You know we are over taxed for plates cigs, booze, fuel, and housing. You know we have problems with immigration. These are things you hear everyday. They are not propaganda, it's true. Obama is a congressman from IL. HE COULD CHANGE ANY, OR ALL OF THESE THINGS. But he won't.  What kind of CHANGE is he going to make in Washington, if He can't even make changes in His own state?

The Pitchers and Catchers will be reporting to spring training in the next few days. And than spring training will start shortly after that.

I am not looking forward to that.

1. The cardinals have very little pitching(Carpenter) is about it.

2. Outside of Pujols they have nobody. They are so desperate they called in Juan Gonzales, and he won't make the team.

3.Most experts agree they are listed about #23 out of 30 major league baseball teams. as far as power and ability goes.

Maybe it's time to give the team an overhaul.  What does anyone else think?

I happen to think he is a cry baby! He did'nt like the skipper in Philly..He does not like Tony...Maybe his problem, is really not his problem? Maybe it's everybody else? I personally think He has what is called anti social behaviour...I don't think wherever he goes he will be happy...I really don't think he is as great as he thinks he is...He is great with a glove, but his power numbers are no where near what they were his first year here...Tony has delt with a lot of problem players in his career including Ricky Henderson, and was always able to get the best out of them...This guy Rolen probably needs to be on the DL until they can prescribe him some ADHD meds that will work..Just my opinion...

Rick Ankiel  is having a melt down, and its due to whats been said about this poor guy not just by the New York daily news (which is a tabloid) but by our own media, and has brought the whole team down...

Rick does not handle adversity well, as people that watched him blow up when he was a pitcher know...So why would a St Louis media p/u a story that first off is 4yrs old, and 2nd do it during a run at the pennant?

This whole story has affected the team in a negitive way...Not only the team, but how I personally view the media here....

I think it was very irresponsible reporting...

A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) or sexual topics (Adult blog), and are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging which consists of blogs with very short posts.

In May 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 71 million blogs....This is what a Blog is, Its not a chat room, It has no limit to the amount of interaction ONE MIGHT HAVE in a subject, There are no right or wrong answers...They are OPINIONS, by business professionals, blue coller workers, stay at home parents, employed people, unemployed people, EVERYONE AND, ANYONE....It's not a club, It crosses all kinds of Social lines, Economic lines,Religious lines, Political lines....BLOGS ARE OPINIONS..... No more and, no less...But if a person feels that their OPINION,is the only OPINION, then maybe BLOGGING isn't for them...And be respectfull towards each other, and their opinions, and how there written...BLOGS CROSS ALL LINES..

NATIVE AMERICANS SEEK CHANGES TO IMMIGRATION BILL — TO DEPORT MAYFLOWER DESCENDANTS
Flexing their new-found political muscle, Native Americans — the only “true” Americans — have now weighed in on the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill, lobbying Congress to provide for the immediate deportation of all Mayflower descendants.

Speaking for the National Council of American Indians, Chief “Running Tab at Foxwoods” asserted that the Mayflower settlers “not only entered this country illegally, without visas or work permits, but behaved very badly –spreading disease, raping our women, despoiling the land, and worst of all, stealing our very identity for their sports teams.”

While most tribes oppose any type of amnesty, some have supported a limited trail to citizenship, requiring the Mayflower descendants to pay a fine consisting of their scalps, and the return of the Great Plains.

Other tribes have proposed a “touchback provision,” requiring the illegal squatters to return to the 17th Century, for four centuries, before applying to live here legally in the present.

Some Native Americans would also grant favorable treatment to those who have high-tech skills, such as converting corn to ethanol.

This proposal has predictably drawn a huge outcry from the WASPS, who claim that they’re merely doing the jobs that Native Americans refuse to do, such as running investment banks and hedge funds.

In addition, although genealogy records reflect that his ancestors arrived not on Plymouth Rock but on Ellis Island, the Indian tribes have also insisted on the unconditional and immediate deportation of Jack Abramoff.

In the spirit of Tatanka Ohitika my great great grandfather.

Unfortunately we in St. Louis idolize our baseball players.  When they drink and drive we honor them with a patch on their shoulder, and place their number out in the outfield with great cardinals that didn't drink and drive.  By doing this we agree that drinking and driving is okay if you're a cardinal baseball player.  The cardinals have an attendance record that is only out done by new york and LA.  These cities have triple the population in them.  When we place people that high on a pedastal we put ourselves at risk for futile lawsuits, lawsuits that wouldn't have merit anywhere else.  But because this is a baseball town and we honor him, in some way it has to be somebody elses fault.  The tow truck driver, the guy who broke down, anyone other than the drunk driver because we honor him. Then we pick on his attorney but its not his fault, he is american, doing the thing that makes our country great...capitalizing.  His arguement will be we honored him so if we felt he was doing wrong then we shouldn't have honored him, but not blame his attorney or his family.  It's kind of like going to a baseball game when the team loses all the time, it okays them to lose.  This is whats is on my mind

to saint louis cardinal fans what's it going to take for upper management in the cardinal organization to make changes in this pathetic ball club?  Their job is to put together a winning product.  Last year is done, this is a new year and to this point they have not been able to produce.  So should St. Louis fans continue to go see a loser?  I don't think so waste of money and time, it's fun to go to a ball game but not when they lose all the time.  No matter how nice that stadium is it's not worth the money to go see somebody lose all the time.  No matter what Al Robisky or Dan McKloclin say they are not improving.  The fact is the product the cardinals put out there this year was bad.  I said they would finish third in their division in one of my blogs.  The only team that will make the play-offs in their division will be Milwaukee.  So what do we do? Speak up St. Louis they're your cardinals!

Tony Larussa is the manager!! He is not a player...So jumping on him is foolish like the "old saying goes" You can lead a horse to water but you can't  mak'em drink...

He has been a winner everywhere he's been other then Chicago...He is more consistant then Rolen, Edmonds, Wilson, Eckstien, and Albert so far this year...The first 4 in my rant need to go..

Rolen has not played great since his first year here, Edmonds can catch but not hit nor des he have any arm strength,WHICH is also Eckstien's problem Wilson was  just a bad pickup...And Albert is probably struggling because of these other players which are bringing the team down..

Out of the afore players mentioned, Edmonds and Albert ARE THE ONLY 2 WITH LEGITIMENT EXUSES, Jimmy's gettin old his arm and his bat are not what they were..And Alberts got to much pressure on him to perform..

None of this has anything to do with Tony..To be honest if I were Tony I'd get drunk too..I just would'nt drive..
