More than 14.6 million Democrats went to the polls on Tuesday, compared to only 9 million Republicans. Ask anyone reasonable why, and they'll tell you -- there's an obvious and sizable enthusiasm gap between both parties. Where it seems Democrats would be happy to have either Clinton or Obama sew up the Democratic nomination no matter who they're individually supporting right now, there is already some serious grumbling from the GOP about McCain not being nearly conservative enough, if at all. Ann Coulter went so far as to call him “an open-borders, anti-tax cut, anti-free speech, global-warming hysteric, pro-human experimentation ‘Republican’” whom she claims is likely to drive her right into Hillary’s arms. Whoa...

So, what do you make of all this? Do you think McCain has some serious worrying to do in light of these numbers, or do you think once the general election rolls around that the playing field will start to equalize? Also, do you think this next election is a slam-dunk for either the Democrats or the Republicans and/or do you think only one or the other of Hillary or Obama stands a chance against the maverick 71 year-old come-back kid? And ultimately, what remains the most important issue to you when it comes to your vote? The economy, national security, the war in Iraq, healthcare, securing our borders? Finally, do you find this election exhilarating… depressing… or something else entirely?

You know, Ann Coulter's comments also speak volumes about Clinton. If she's willing to jump ships to her to avoid McCain, what does that tell you about Clinton?

I think McCain stands a very good chance against Obama or Clinton. But do I like him? God no. I do think he's better than the other top GOP candidates, Romney (although he's gone now) and Huckabee.

Many things influence my vote, Iraq, Iran, Syria, "war on terror", global warming, fossil fuel alternatives, The National Initiative for Democracy, the economy, "war on drugs", healthcare, tax reform, social security, net neutrality, and immigration are all big factors for me.

I'm actually very excited about the elections this year. With people like Mike Gravel, Dennis Kucinich (now gone), and Ron Paul running and actually making some noise, even if it's fading as time passes, it gives me hope. With the Internet, more and more people are doing research on candidates on their own instead of relying on the main stream media entirely allowing them to find facts about the leading candidates that are misleading. All in all, I'm pumped!

this election to me reminds me of the 1972 presidential election..during that time Richard Nixon was a symbol of the establishment and George McGovern was the symbol of youth and change ..in those days the economy was also an issue as was security because then communist block nations including china and the soviet union..although there was no problem of illegal immagration their was a civil rights movement in is youth and like today we were involved in a unpopular war VietNam..the country was very divided and the election that year can answer your question of today ..i don't believe what the primary numbers show will show what will happen in November..if either Clinton or Obama win their party being both as liberal as they are you will see as big a turnout that you have ever seen for the republican side no matter what Ann or Rush say..there is no way on this earth will any republican would vote for Clinton or Obama .or not care to vote...and as in 1972 for Nixon you will see a landslide for McCain in 2008

Leelila, imo, the election is exhilarating…..lovin’ it.
I like Obama, Clinton, and McCain, so I’m happy no matter what. If Hillary or Obama where to choose each other as running mate…I think they’d win the Nov. election. And…I’d like it if McCain chose Rudy as his, that would be so cool.

i don't think mccain has what it takes to win the elections. it's not gonna come as easy, because 14 million compare to 9 million, that's a huge difference. especially since who ever voted for hillary is just gonna vote for obama, or the other way around, since they are so similar. it seems as though anyone that liked huckabee or romney really dislikes mccain, to the point where they might not bother voting.

the thing most important to me is the economy and healthcare because that's what is gonna effect us the most. as for the war, i don't really care much for it. either finish the fight, or bring them home in defeat. personally, i would have just nuked them, and wait around for the radiation levels to go down to jack their oil. but that's me. lol.

as for how the elections make me feel, well i feel angry. mostly because i'm not all that interested in it, and i know the elections are gonna make me miss out on tv shows that i rather watch but arent being shown due to the station covering the elections. i'm also angry at all the phones calls i'm getting from these people.

I have at least had the benefit of hearing and recording an interview that my colleague Paul McGuire did with John McCain a few years ago. I did do a little prank with the soundbites ... no, I'm not going to release them on YouTube or attach them to any emails or blogs on this site! I'd be playing with fire if I were to do so. Maybe it might show up on YouTube after the November Elections as a parody, or maybe not!

Seriously though, I was one of the 9 million who showed up at the polls; believe me, I'll be back in November! My motto is Just Say No To Hillary!, so I'm staying for the mongrel mauling. This election is going to be a nasty dog fight to the end...the question is who's going to get mauled?

o0lux0o -- what does that say about clinton? i'm not sure... still, i agree, watching this election unfold has been fascinating, almost as fascinating as the role the internet has been playing in it, especially among young people.

craftyguy -- so far, you've been right with your predictions. i'll be interested to see if you're right here too.

dasvics -- ditto, ditto, ditto.

samo -- interesting... and i love the notion that this election is bringing out anger in you. that's one i haven't heard before but that makes perfect sense. we're being begged for votes and barraged with information practically non-stop. i suppose eventually it makes you feel like you're living with a telemarketer...

mr. e -- that is the question; i think you've nailed it... the other question: why do love, war and politics have to be so terribly brutal?

McCain I thank for his honorable service to the country during the Nam years which I narrowly missed, almost was of draft age too. As a politician, he is a complete Liberal in many respects. Can he change? Possibly, but let us ask the far greater question. Who is funding the candidates? I want to know who is funding them, how McCain almost politically dead several months ago is the Republican Nominee almost! Is Soros behind this, is the Mexican Government behind this and on the Dems side. Are the communist Chinese funding them, Middle Eastern countries, the Mexican Government, George Soros, just who has manipulated the American people out of true Democracy and is destroying their Republic from within. Find that out Leelila and you will know the truth which shall set you free!

I just heard someone say that if there's a Hillary-Obama or Obama-Hillary ticket....McCain should ask Condoleezza to be his running mate!!!!! omgosh! I hadn't even thought of that cause I'd love to see Conde run against Hillary....but...a McCain-Rice ticket would be sooooo cool against a Obama or Hillary.....LOVING it!

Well, maybe you should...

Native Americans: Navajo Indians are the targets of brutal genocide right here
in Arizona, USA ...by Sen. John McCain & the help of a few greedy Senators

SYNOPSIS: To facilitate his special interests, namely: Peabody
Western Coal Company (the largest in the US) and the Mohave Generating
Facility in Laughlin (operated by Bechtel) delivering low cost
electricity to Las Vegas's Casinos, John McCain introduced and
arranged for the enforcement of unethical and Constitutionally
unlawful legislations which brutally displaced thousands of Navajo
farmers onto a Nuclear Waste Dump to live after brutalizing them for
two decades in peaceful resistance. McCain assembled (Navajo
Resettlement & Navajo Accommodation Agreement, Navaho Settlement, and
amendments to PL 93-531) illegal enactments designed to force Native
American Navajo of the Dineh Band off their Arizona lands, moving them
onto Church's Hill in Nevada, depriving them of lands they've owned
since 1500 AD. Using a phony tribal counsel composed of paid stooges,
McCain and Peabody Western Coal Company have been progressively
exploiting their lands for mutual personal gain. In exchange, three
Presidential runs by McCain have been backed by that company and its
Nevada Casino clients, and McCain's wife has been granted huge Beer
distribution contracts at her company. The supposed "new lands" at
Church's Hill are a Superfund Nuclear Waste Dump landfil site!

The supposed "new lands" at
Church's Hill are a Superfund Nuclear Waste Dump landfil site!
Click Here to enter site... Holocaust of the Native Americans by the
Johns: McCain - Kerry - Rockefeller and Teddy Kennedy / Bill Clinton /
Al Gore. The Navajo Resettlement led to the deaths of thousands of
elders and mass radiation based deformities among newborn Navajo
children and youngsters who are forced to play on land littered with
Uranium Tilings. The accompanying thuggery and theft of property,
fencing out of rangelands, cattle seizures, water well cappings and
beatings and other indignity has led to the death of thousands of
elder grandfathers and mothers of the Navajo Di'neh Nation, a birth
defect rate twice the national average has led to UN & EU
condemnations! Navajo are full US citizens! The environmental
devastation around the mines, through brutal strip mining operations,
open explosives runs, and "grim reaper" steam shovels has transformed
the magnificent territories of the Dineh into a Hell-like scar on
earth, the water level in the region is reduced by 4 feet per year as
the not-lawful steam slurry pipes pipe powdered coal and steam
hundreds of miles to Mohave, leaving leakage and residue in the
environment poisoning the lands and people in their vicinity. Coal
dust blasted from the mines as well. Sewage from the mining has
inundated the waters once pristine and inhabited by fish, frogs,
turtles, water fowl - all dead or fled.

I am guessing it is just cooincidence that all the people supporting this are Democrats and moderate Republicans.
Where did all these pearls of knowledge come from? It sounds a little biased.

Does anyone know what McCain's Dirty secret is?

________________________________________________

Which secret, there are so many. But McCain's demons can't even begin to approach Hillary's. By the way, why hasn't anybody mentioned that Obama was briefly a member of the Black Panthers in college or that he did cocaine (lots of it), etc. etc. I guess all of the remaining candidates keep these things quiet for fear of what will come back to hit them in retribution.

Democrats are getting a lot more voters to the polls than the Republicans. This development does not bode well for the OPEN BORDERS ZEALOT Republicans like John "Z-Visa" McCain. Democrats are cleary more enthusiastic about their candidates.
