Yep-- you heard me right, Trashtalk '08 is swinging into high gear! And this time I have a pretty heavy hitter helping me out-- Mayor Nutter.

He and I have been organizing clean-ups and going into neighborhoods in desperate need of some straightening up for nearly a year now, so we got to know each other well on the "Trashtalk" level, and he told me last summer, "If I become Mayor, one of the first things I want to do is organize a massive, city-wide cleanup." Well, once again, Nutter is keeping his word and the cleanup is going to be announced in the very very near future (like Monday at a rally in Love Park) Not only that, the city is unveiling a website that will allow every single Philadelphian to get involved by clicking on where they live, and finding out the staging area on that day for their neighborhood.

Philadelphians--- PLEASE, we need your help! And actually, it might be our responsibility to get the litter off our streets, out of our schools, and away from our blocks, because uh... we put it there. This is the reality, and the part of this whole thing no one ever wants to admit to, but there wouldn't be litter and an enormous trash problem if we didn't drop the stuff on the ground in the first place.
So, make your communities shine, and your streets sparkle by helping the Mayor and I out. I am meeting Nutter today in a trash ridden neighborhood to highlight the problem and to encourage response from anyone who has pride in this city and wants to make it look as good as it should. Believe it or not, there are cities around the world that don't have trash problems, and they look amazing. We are not there yet, so help us work toward that same goal. So, gather all your friends together, and get them involved!

I know you're all thinking, "It must be Spring, KL is on her trash kick again." You know what? You would be right!!!!!
Now please please please help me out! Enter "Trashtalk" in this websites search engine to see some of our pieces from last year or just click right here, and you'll see this whole trash thing is catching on. Block captains-- I love you all, and thank you for your continued service and dedication.
More to come on this....
