Oprah's Big Web Crash

Hi Everyone!

As a "Geek-ette" in training (what, with all this blogging I'm doing now) I thought Oprah's effort last night to do something daring, and technologically forward was great-- a massive live webcast.  How cool!  Um, maybe not. 

Here's the problem-- it didn't really work.  There is good news-- 500,000 people showed up online to check out her "New Earth" philosophy with writer Eckhart Tolle.  But there is also bad news-- The entire thing crashed after about 45 minutes.

Yikes.

Here's one blogger's take on the "event."  I laughed at the irony of her closing her laptop to watch something on tv instead.   

Check out Oprah.com as well, where you'll "kind of" find an apology from Oprah, and that's a big deal in itself, since Oprah doesn't issue those regularly.    I still give her a big 'ole "A" for effort :) Hey-- tune in tonight at 5, just because I want you to, but also at 10-- I'm going to be doing election coverage and keeping track of tally's and giving live updates from the studio throughout the show.  Bruce Gordon-- our official political guy-- will be by my side to offer analysis, and information from some experts also joining us.  Super Tuesday 2 should be interesting.  Heck-- I might even blog about it! Not going to use my bandwidth to bother with Oprah. She's getting a little too full of herself for my taste.

Hope all goes well with the primary coverage tonight. I wonder if the dem side will be any clearer after tonight. I'm guessing not since they abandoned "winner take all" primaries.
