Signs of Spring

Hi Everyone!

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for Spring, so I've been busy examining window boxes on my Center City street to find even the smallest hint of a crocus, or daffodil pushing through. Guess what-- they are trying!

This is such a fun time of year since we will soon say goodbye to those brittle boring bare branches, and hello to lush, lavish, lovely leaves. Yep, I'm a sucker for Spring.

The 2008 Philadelphia Flower Show looks AWESOME and I know I will run into tons of you there (hope to, at least!!) I love the "Jazz it Up," theme and maybe New Orlean's Mayor will actually have something nice to say about our beautiful city after he sees this LOL

Anyway, check out the trees in my "backyard." They have blossoms on them! And I have a song from a "Little Bill" episode in my head every time I look out the balcony off my bedroom at them.

Little Bill gets stage fright during the School Spring Pageant. He's dressed up as "grass" and is too scared to say his lines. In the end, he remembers a lesson his teacher taught him-- to take a deep breath and blow his stage fright away. He gets the line out and all the kids are thrilled, and continue on with their song-- "Spring is here, Spring is here, it's the best time of the year..."

P.S. a word of advice...Don't put a reporter (Cindy Hammel) on TV that can barely talk. It was the most annoying thing I ever watched.

Cindy Hammel should have taken the day off or been given the day off-two sentences would have been acceptable, but not a three minute story! I agree with Getvthunderbolt

Hi Everyone! I agree, poor Cindy sounded like her throat must have been killing her. We all just looked at each other in the newsroom with our jaws dropped. I knew she was sick, but I didn't know she sounded like that. I've been there, I feel for her, and I can almost guarantee you, she will be home in bed tonight, instead of reporting for the 10pm. I will pass on to her all the concern you have for her, I know she would appreciate the support and well wishes! Have an awesome Friday, KL

Hey all...

TGIF! Everyone have an awesome weekend.

I'm going to miss the flower show again. There's just too much going on.

BTW, we got down to the Star Wars exhibit at the Franklin Institute last weekend. It was pretty cool. Not nearly as large as the Titanic or King Tut exhibits, but it was fun. The kids had fun too (of course, they've seen all six movies. Besides all the Star Wars stuff, they had a couple interactive sections where the kids could build a small maglev car out of Legos and then a miniature R2D2 robot...then download a simple command program into it. Pretty interesting....
