What is this world coming to? What will it be like for our children? Maybe the ones doing the killing should put that much effort into looking for a job instead of trying to make "easy money" and not caring if they have to take someones life in order to get it. There was a comment made in a previous blog stating,"IM SORRY THAT HAPPENED 2 THE COP BUT THEY NEED 2 MAKE A BIG OF A DEAL OF MURDER FOR EVERY 1 NOT JUST COPS" ...What do you think this city is trying to do? Do you not think it affects every officer when they are called to a murder scene?  Its sad when ANYONE loses their life but to point blank kill an officer, thats low.  You're right, they were hired to serve and protect, not die. Look at the rate of innocent children that are killed just because they are playing outside in front of their homes...that is just as tragic. I won't even refer to these criminals as humans, they are animals! I believe what they do should be done to them.  Don't waste our money by letting them spend the rest of their lives in prison, thats getting off easy-Did that officer have a chance to think, do these young kids playing in front of their homes have a chance? Don't give these animals a chance either.  Start today, start now people with educating your children so they choose the right paths in life. It starts when they are young.  My heart goes out to everyone feeling the pain and loss of officer Liczbinski. Truly a sad time for the city of Philadelphia.

Thank you for your heartfelt words, not only as a mother, but as the wife of a Philly cop.

Oh trust me I wanted to say A LOT more but you really have to becareful with words! Seriously, I didn't know this officer, but my heart is sick when I hear that an officer has been killed. Now everyone is complaining about the tape that shows the police pulling suspects from a car and beating the hell out of them, sure, no one likes to see that but maybe that is how they should be treated. I mean a cop was just killed and they are stupid enough in the same week to steal a car and commit a crime. If I was a cop I wouldn't take any chances, I'd beat the hell out of them too! It makes me soooooooooooo angry..ohhhh lets all feel bad for the criminals-I DON'T THINK SO! That shows you that some people will never learn and maybe if the police were more forceful they would think twice about doing some illegal. I said it before,GET A DAMN JOB PEOPLE! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE THAT YOU CAN JUST ROB AND KILL PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU NEED MONEY???????? Don't we all need money????????? Thats the difference between good and bad people and people with common sense. I have two children and I have given them every lesson under the sun and I pray that they will always carry that with them, to know the difference between good and bad. Cosmocat, my prayers are with you and your husband and thank him for the job that he is doing, I give him credit to go out on the streets of Philly of everyday and risk his life to try and make the city a better place for everyone who lives there. Take care

I wish the government would enforce a mandatory sentence for any thug that has a rap sheet of robberies, felonies, or any kind of dangerous activities, should be sent over to Iraq and fight. There, they get to use a gun and fight for their lives instead of killing and laming innocent people.

Love what you said. As the sister of 2 philly cops and a father retired it is appreciated. My brothers put up with alot and there is no thanks. Just criticism and judgement. They not only have to watch out for the bad guys but also for the Leeches known as the news media look for the next big story so they can say "exclusive". I just might be more sick of the news media than of the violence in this city.

Me and my family were out to dinner last night and we saw an officer come in to eat with his wife, both all dressed up so I'm assuming that they attended the viewing. The more I sat there looking at the pain in his face the more sick I felt. Before we left I had wrote on the back of a check, "I couldn't help but to think of Officer Liczbinski as I look at you, Our prayers are with all of you officers and we are sorry for your loss" My 10 yr old son wanted to go over and hand it to him so I let him as we walked out. You should've seen the look on his face and his wife said "Thank You" How can you look at an officer and not be affected by this loss? What a sad day!
