Ok nerds and geeks unite! The moment we've all been waiting for is here. Season 4 of BSG is on tonight. Gonna tape it on DVR but hopefully watch it in real time cause I feel like watching things on DVR is kind of like watching sporting events after its happened.

The teasers leading into this season have been dark and very intriguing. Kara Thrace is back but what the frak is she? Has she been fooling us all along? It certainly looks like it although if she is toaster, I might just have to lead a revolt!! The only question I have for the cylons is, if KT is a cylon, why did you make her so emotionally flawed? They nailed human insecurities/ghosts and demons/passion/redemption down pretty good

Who are the other mysterious cylon models?

All things will be revealed. Although i must admit, in the very short interim, I enjoyed watching starbuck as the "bad" Bionic Woman. She plays crazy flawed psycho individuals very well.

I dont think she will be a cylon.

I have a funny feeling about her. Notice Baltar is revered as like a messiah?

The cylons and humans have been relying on religous prophecy.

My concern is they are gonna pull out the old characters from the original BSG.

Remember the "light angels"?
The ones that turned apollo and starbucks flight suits white from the original series?
There was also the english guy who was like satan or something.

Those light angels abducted pilots and returned em with the same sort of disorientation.

I think starbuck was abducted returned in a brand new viper the light angels made for her in this series and she is to be the prophet and they will refer to their scriptures and ultimately see she is the prophet to the lead them.

Then again maybe she is a cylon too. lol

FYI,

When they do reach earth....
I think its not going to be 2008 when they arrive here.

I think its gonna be long long ago... perhaps when the first humans walked the earth.

Julie you are the most loveable geek I know!
Have fun with the new season but don't count me in! I'm waiting for Dexter Season 2 to come out on DVD! What does that say about me?!?!

I was blown away when Adama got blown away in the first three minutes. WOW! This is going to be good, despite what some skeptics now say- Dave Huddleston!

It better be, because I'm not feeling it. We are going off in so many directions when we have to wrap up the show this season. Now the fracken cyclones are fighting each other?! Come on, get me to earth all ready!

Dewey-
I think you're on to something with the old BSG characters. Could Tom Zarek be #12???

The original apollo as the number 12....

Me likey!!!

Dave you gotta realize the producers/writers were the ones that wanted to end the series this year.

Sci fi wanted to keep going with it because of the ratings.

I am sure they are going to take us on this journey the right way.

I like it though. Dave is like the kid in the back seat on the way to great adventure screaming are we there yet! And we are still on the turnpike.

Still not "feeling it" Dave!!??

Let the elimination of the "Human" characters begin.
The more that die, the more likley one of them is the 12th.

Ya gotta Love Cavel, a Cylon that sill knows what it means to be a Cylon. Dark twisted Frack.
Weapons locker 1701d. What a hoot. Hope it's not a hint.

Ship of Lights...Hmmmmm.

Ok, no spoilers here. I am not completely caught up with the episodes. I would normally be gobbling them up, foaming at the mouth til the next one but....the love is gone. I mean, what is all this frakdified over acting and reacting?

THe first episode of the season was disappointing. You knew she was gonna be back and you knew the ship would have the reaction they did. OK. now show me something different. Starbuck gyrating madly on the floor, screaming her frakin head off is not what I wanted to see.

I don't know. I feel that a lot of the magic is gone for me for BSG. I'm just so...disappointed! Sigh, I will just shut up, eat my granola and wade through the episodes. I'll let you know if it gets interesting. Or you can tell me.

Michelle, I have Dexter season 1 on dvd. It was a bday present and I have to watch it. Maybe we can watch that together since you are not a sci fi geek at all!!!

VOTE FOR OBAMA

Hillary will do anything to be President- except help America

Don't settle for her
as the first woman president....
better ones will come.

She has obviously lost her way...
she has stooped to mud-slinging, lies and dirty politics...
ITS TIME FOR CHANGE.

Julie - I just finished Cormac's "Suttree".

A few weeks ago I read "No Country for Old men".

Next - The Border Trilogy.

Thanks again for the intro.

Ok. I am caught up with BSG now. I am liking it a lot more. I think Tori makes a deliciously evil cylon. She really is like a machine, able to shut down and turn on emotions. Very complex.

It begs the question, when you are everything you hate, what do you do and who do you become? Tori's answer vs. Saul's answer vs. Tyrol's answer. The kicker is that they're feeling what they would feel if they were human, so they're the same right?

But now I think that they're been "triggered" somehow. LIke when the raider refused to shoot Sam down, there was the flash of red light. Maybe he was triggered and subsequently triggered the others?

Sigh. As I do find this weird sci-fi Days of Our Lives thing interesting, I think would much prefer the blasting of tin cans and toasters much better. This feels very drama-y and if I wanted drama, I'd go watch the tearjerker series, ER.

Leoben is back in the teaser for the next episode. You never know what the frak is going to happen when he enters the picture with Starbuck.

Oh JT,

You are more than welcome! I'm glad you are enjoying them. I am trying to find another good read. I've got the "Witch of Portobello" and "Those Who Save Us."

I'll tell you what I think.

Hello Julie and all!

I am very concerned the way the BSG is going to end now. For the longest time I thought that they had a clear plan the way things were going to end up but now it looks (to me at least) they are flailing a bit. Too circuitous maybe...?

I enjoy the whole Baltar as the Messiah and Starbuck as Moses parable.

It is very heavy drama now and not as much
sci-fi as they used to have in there. I know that this is what sets the show apart from others but some more space battles and shoot 'em ups would be nice.

Just my 2 cents from NYC.
