Ok, forget what you have read or seen from the critics. Some have given this movie a big fat zero, no apples etc. I thought this movie was entertaining with a capital E!! Sure, it's gory and you spend most of the movie looking at the insides of people, rather than the outside but it is typical Rambo/Sylvester Stallone fare. Not a lot of talking, a whole lot of shooting.

Why does John Rambo have such a bleeding heart when it comes to the ladies? Hasn't he learned yet after First Blood, First Blood 2 and Rambo 3? Ah well, a little lady missionary with a big heart for the oppressed Burmese convinces Rambo to take her and her group upstream to no man's land. They're captured and then Rambo has to take a  group of mercs upriver to rescue them. Despite the incredible amount of violence, the movie does a good job of showing you just HOW bad the bad guys are and so you don't feel too bad.

It's always good to show "just how bad the bad guys really are" -- as too many shows and movies want to play up the "humanistic" side of things, advocating having compassion on our enemies.

Our enemies know one rule: kill or be jailed. Being jailed does nothing to them except take them out of commission. Sure, maybe some faced waterboarding, but the true "bad guys" in the bunch have done -- and would certain do -- things much, much worse than waterboarding to others, especially Americans.

I haven't seen the movie, and likely won't for a long time, if ever. The early Rambo films, such as "Rambo Goes to VietNam" or whatever the actual title was, showed him, for example, sitting at the controls of an old 'Nam era Huey as a Soviet chopper landed in front of him. He played possum, faking that he was dead -- at least until the Soviet pilot eased his chopper closer to the water. At that point, with supposed American prisoners of war, all of whom were grossly emaciated (to say the least), and took aim at the Soviet chopper with an M-72 LAW (Light Anti-tank Weapon), a 66mm portable rocket launcher, then fired it, effectively destroying the Soviet chopper and killing the pilot. The problem with that is he killed all those supposed former POWs, as the LAW has a nice little "back blast area" which would have, well, killed the folks, if not destroyed the Huey. Ah, the little details.

While I appreciate any movies that show American military forces -- or former American military personnel (especially our "special forces commando-types, the unsung, silent heroes) -- but th
