So, it's the second day of a brand new year. A BRAND NEW YEAR, fresh start, fresh slate, better times ahead, so I thought. I'm working on a story about gas prices going up. My photographer and I camp out in the parking lot of the Lukoil on Delaware Ave and Spring Garden. I go in to use the restroom and absentmindedly left my wallet in the bathroom. I didn't realize this until HOURs later and after I had returned to the station. I panicked. I called my husband and he and I frantically started calling credit card companies to cancel, KNOWING the wallet packed with several gift cards, some cash etc was already long gone.

We went back to the Lukoil on a lark. Lo and behold, the woman at the register, Rosaline Bansura remembed me and had my wallet for me. I tried desperately to reward her with cash or whatever, all I got was a laugh, her name and my wallet back.

That was a nice lesson for me. I need to stop assuming the worst. It's so much easier you know? First lessons of '08. Have a little more faith. And don't leave your wallet in the bathroom next time, dummy!

Glad you got your stuff back...

Does this mean we will see you on the news sporting the new and trendy fox29 fanny pack?

Julie, in this case I wouldn't say you were assuming the worst. As sad as it is, we live in times where people are not so kind and generous as this woman was to return your wallet. It is a sad reality. However, I am glad that everything worked out, aside from the scare, and your wallet was returned. You really were lucky.

LUCKY? Julie you were BLESSED!! I left my wallet on a train and I didn't realize it until I tried to check into my hotel. Fortunately, it was lodged down in the seat and the stop I got off on was two stops away from the last stop so there were hardly any passengers left on the train. But, there could have easily been a dishonest employee who could say that they never saw the wallet. However, after calling every train station to the end of the line, it was located and brought back to the station on the return trip - totally intact!! Thank you God and AMTRAK for having honest employees!!
