So, there is a group of MOMS in Delaware who are connected , cool and ready to blog.   We reached out to them in connection with a What's Buggin' You story.  The gripe?  Store owners putting Halloween and Christmas items out on store shelves in August. ( oh... and you can't find a swimsuit or a sand shovel anywhere)

The kiddos think Halloween is this weekend ( it is rainy and cold ) and some little ones are getting their Christmas lists ready...!   The Moms say it's all because they are seeing the Halloween costumes and Christmas wreaths in the stores.

So, what do you think?   Is it too early...?  Are you buying/ thinking about costumes already?

Blog with us... and check out the Delaware Moms site...

I hate to admit I have started looking for Halloween costumes already. But only because if I wait they will be picked over and my kids won't get their choice of who they want to be!

I think these moms need to start doing more mothering and less whining. The only reason stores put it out is because the same people go to the stores and BUY the holloween costumes in august.

Um... I kinda agree with AlexR... if consumers stop buying the items early, and request that summer items still be available in late summer, then stores will oblige... the dollar motivates!

And really, as a mother myself, I gotta say... if this is what these MOMS have to complain about, they should consider themselves blessed.

I was in the Hallmark store in the Moorestown Mall the last week in July and they already had their Christmas display out. I made a comment to one of the workers about it being too early and was told they were displaying Xmas b/c of the whole Christmas in July. Even QVC on July 25th had a whole day dedicated to Christmas. I was in Michael's Craft store this past weekend and their Halloween display was up and their Xmas flowers were out. I don't know what the rush is. It seems right after July 4th the stores go into panic mode, put the summer clothes on clearance and take out the holiday decorations.

This is really nothing new. The stores are always a season ahead with their clothing and holiday merchandise. It actually makes sense if you would think about it.
