In just a few days I'll be running the Long Beach Marathon.  Since I've never done anything like this before, I'm not sure what to expect.  One minute I'm excited over the run, the next I'm terrified, asking "What did I get myself into?"

Whatever happens on Sunday, I want to make sure I have some GREAT MUSIC!

I'm currently preparing my playlist.  I have close to 4 hours of good, fast moving music.  But I'm gonna need more (I'm a slow runner).  Any good suggestions?  I like ALL KINDS of music.   And I really mean all kinds--- just as long as they have a good rhythm--nothing too slow.

Here's just a sample of the large variety of songs I've put on my playlist:

--La Grange -ZZ Top

--Suicide Blonde- Inxs

-She took it like a man & Trashy Women -Confederate Railroad

- Radar Love -GOLDEN EARRING

-Days go by -Dirty Vegas

- A Dios le pido-Juanes

- Ojos Asi- Shakira

- It's my life- Bon Jovi

-Bad to the Bone- George Thorogood

-Butterfly- Crazy Town

-Chango- Ozomatli

-Gangsta's Paradise- Coolio

 -Arrasando-Thalia

As good as I once was- Toby Keith

Stupid Girls- Pink

Linkin Park- In the end

Bring me to Life- Evanescense

You shook me all night long AC/DC

Folsom Prison Blues- Johnny Cash

 Eres para mi-Julieta Venegas

Stay Fly -Three 6 Mafia

BTW, I'm running to raise dollars for scholarships. If anyone would like to donate, here's the address:

The Good News Foundation
PO Box 10957

hey gina, my friend that's running the marathon said music throws off your beat in running. it's not a good idea. but i think it gives ya something to think about rather then wondering how many more miles to go. as for the money. i gotta tell ya the truth. i'm broke. all my money is going to bills, and helping my mom save her house. so that's pretty much where all my money is going to for the month. wish i could help out. well i'll donate what i can.

Hey, Woopa & Samo,
Thanks for the suggestions. Tonight, I'm gonna spend more time on Itunes checking out the songs.

AND Samo....WOW! What a list! You must be a serious music lover. Me too. BTW, your friend is right about the music--how it throws off your running. BUT, I just can't run without music. It really keeps me motivated. Without it---I'm toast. That's exactly why, I'm taking two ipods--just in case one stops working. :-)

On any given night or morning, you might catch me doing everything from consumer/investigative reporting, anchoring, entertainment, weather, even sports (not my favorite). On the weekends, I can also be found washing the news trucks. :-) O.K. that's not true, but that's probably my next assignment! If you have any story ideas or would like me to look into a situation you feel may be unjust, please let me know by commenting on my blog!
