I just took this test.  It was very informative.  You select, based on your beliefs, on what the government should be doing.  Based on your answers, you will select the correct candidate to become president...  Here is the link:

ECONOMY - Excerpt from the AARP site:

"Overall, the Tax Policy Center said people with very high incomes would
benefit the most under McCain's proposal, while low- and middle-income
taxpayers would see larger tax breaks under Obama's plan and wealthy
taxpayers would see their taxes increase.

Seeking to spur growth, McCain proposes cutting the maximum corporate income
tax rate from 35 percent to 25 percent, and he would allow businesses to
immediately deduct the full cost of capital business equipment in one swoop,
instead of gradually over several years.

McCain also wants to increase the $3,500 income-tax exemption for dependents
by $500 each year beginning in 2010 until it reaches $7,000.

Among Obama's other proposals: raising the tax on capital gains and
qualified dividends. However, Obama has raised the possibility of deferring
some of his tax hikes on the wealthy given the ailing economy.

To help others, Obama has offered a series of tax breaks, including
eliminating the income tax for senior citizens who make less than $50,000 a
year and giving a $1,000 income tax credit for families with income of
between $8,000 and $75,000; individuals would receive half that amount.

Obama also proposes a universal mortgage credit that would allow people who
don't itemize their taxes to be eligible for a 10 percent tax credit of
their mortgage interest up to $800

1 Obama, 12 McCain I guess I'm voting for the right guy. I'm still not crazy about him, but when stood next to Obama, he starts looking pretty good.

I would like to keep most of what I earned, so I'm voting for Obama. It amazes me how many people who earn less than $200,000 yearly
would like give their money to the top 1%
who already have the most. I'm all for closing
the loop-holes that only benefit the wealthy.

I'm also for regulating financial institutions.
Democrats tried to pass a bill to regulate them
and make require more transparency, but republicans
did not allow it to pass. When working class Americans
were loosing jobs and facing foreclosure, McCain's
chief financial advisor was a bank lobbyist, and
called hard working Americans a bunch of "whiners".
Of course, after McCain came under fire for that stance,
he fired his good buddy.

I also believe Obama was right in the first place,
that we should have kept our eyes on the ball and
went after the terrorists who attacked us on 9/11,
instead of siding with a man who's personal agenda
blinded him to his country's needs.

Also, I do not believe a president should be selfish
and put his own interests before others, such as
McCain did when he dumped his first wife, Carol,
after she had been crippled in a car accident,
so he could take up with a wealthy younger woman.
That's just not the type of man I want as my president.

But, to each, his own.

Where did you get this info. I would have to read it for myself to believe it. Who is to judge WHY he left his first wife. Only he and his ex know the reasons. This does not discredit a man from running for President, IMHO.

Hi Georgies-Girl, here's the info on McCain's
background, including his first wife, Carol.

Here is what I found: Despite the divorce, Carol McCain has remained on good terms with John McCain,[25] and has supported him in all his subsequent political campaigns.[1] She refused to discuss her marriage with an election opponent of McCain’s in 1982 who was seeking negative information about him, telling the opponent that “a gentleman never would have called.”[32] She supports her ex-husband’s 2008 presidential campaign, and told The Mail on Sunday in June 2008 that she was not bitter and that, “He’s a good guy. We are still good friends. He is the best man for president.”[1]

He also had the good sense to ADMIT that he was wrong. Being apart for so long, both of them had probably changed. Sometimes a marriage can take this change, and sometimes it can't. Unfortunately, this was one of those times when it could NOT. UNLIKE a former Dem. President who never inhaled, never had sex with that woman, had nothing to do with "White Water" etc., he was man enough to say "Hey, I was wrong!" You got to admire someone who does that.

He could not deny he was wrong when he had
his hand firmly in the cookie jar. Too many
people knew and respected his first wife.
There was nothing else he could say.

He says he's wrong, how many years later? 20? No, 30?

And wasn't he cheating on his Ex, with the current wife? Hmm...

I'm not against him, I'm just not for him..

OK, so you aren't against him. I consider myself to be against Obama... So that makes me for Mc Cain... Lot's of others out there that could have gotten my approval, but he is the one running!

Well, if we exclude anyone who has ever done anything 'wrong' (cheating on their wife, lied, etc.) NO ONE would qualify for President.

And I took the test, no suprise for me.. McCain.

Match test has me with Obama, except on illegal immigrants.

What do you base your choice on?
