A former college student accused of stealing people's credit to travel the world with her Ivy League boyfriend is nearing a federal plea deal, sources tell Fox Philadelphia.

Slideshow: Images Of Bonnie And Clyde

Jocelyn Kirsch, 22, and Edward Anderton, 25, are due in state court in Philadelphia on Monday for a preliminary hearing.

A plea deal may or may not result in jail time for the pair.  Is this kind of case (identity theft, fraud) serious enough to warrant time behind bars?  What would be an appropriate punishment?  What do you think of the case?

Of course they deserve jail time. These crimes destroy peolpes finances and ruin credit. The effect of this crime linger longe after the crime has been comitted. People lose jobs, because of bad credit reports, their insurance goes up and they can't get loans (or if they do, it's at a much higher rate). I.D theft is a cowards crime. We need to get serious about crime, thats why crime is out of control, everbody gets a slap on the hand when a good whoopin might serve better. A good punishment....Pay back all of the money, serve 10 years for every 100,000 dollars stolen and the brand them on the face with a giant "T" for thief.

I agree Jim, there is absolutely no comparison to the true Bonnie and Clyde. These two clowns have done plenty of damage wrecking others lives via identity theft.... Bonnie and Clyde killed people.

Here is a link for any of you who may be interested in the real Bonnie and Clyde-

As an added note... the funeral home in which ole Clyde was laid out, is now the Dallas Bar Association... funny how outlaws change :)

I do hope that those that they stole their identities to support their lavish lifestyle take them to civil court.
Not only sue them, but their parents as well, as it seems Daddy has taken care of the bail, so he can also take care of the hefty payments from a civil case

They should also make them sell any of their possessions to help pay back what they owe

And if a book or movie is ever made from this, the victims should receive all royalties

If it were me and you didn't put me behind bars, your telling me I can do this again to people and just get a slap on the wrist.

Guns...This guy (Edward Anderton) used to break into his friends homes and plant chips on their computers for ID theft purposes. A real risk taker, eh? I think that sort of action puts him on a par with Clyde Barrow, don't you?

If they put this clown in prison, "Bubba" will have a new "Little friend". So, yes, if he goes to prison, that will be punishment enough. Bubba will see to that.
