For the 120th year, the bright lights dazzling from the Midway, the sounds of cheering college football fans and the sight from Interstate 30 of the Ferris wheel slowly moving will become routine for the next three weeks as the State Fair of Texas takes over Fair Park.
If you grew up in North Texas, you are bound to have visited the fair and met Big Tex at least one time. Many initially show up for food, fun and entertainment but end up walking away with memories that last a lifetime.
Maybe you met your spouse there? Or your child got sick on one of the rides? Did you participate in one of the fair's unique contests or encounter something interesting while working or volunteering? And, there's bound to be some interesting stories about those college football games.
So with the opening of the fair on Friday, Good Day wants to hear your most interesting memories. Add a comment below with your memory. If it strikes the interest of Tim, Megan and the producers of Good Day, your story could be shared on Good Day with the rest of North Texas.
P.S. If you head out to the fair this year, don't forget to take some pictures and upload them to your blog. We will try and share some of those pictures too.

On Thursday morning, Good Day went on-air with a brand new set. Good Day staff members say the new look is more visually appealing because of the vivid lights and flashy new graphics. Anchors Megan Henderson and Tim Ryan will also be moving around the set a lot more.
For the past seven years, Good Day has been broadcast from a different stage than the one used for the FOX 4 newscasts viewers watch at night (the night set had not been changed in over 10 years).
Now, the morning and night newscasts will share a common set. But because of the numerous options for lighting, backgrounds and placement of on-air personality on the set, Good Day will still have its own unique look and feel.
So tell us about your first impression of our new look. Do you like the new set? What do you like the most? Is there something that is really bugging you? Let us know!

Despite the Texas State Fair being more than three weeks away, contests tied to the annual event are already under way.
On Labor Day, a three judge panel named Shirley London's Fried Praline Perfection the tastiest treat of the Annual Big Tex Choice Awards Contest. She previously won the competition in 2004 for her legendary Fried Marshmallow.
Abel Gonzales Jr., whose fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich took home the award in 2005, walked away with the most creative new fried treat this year for his new delicacy, Fried Coke.
Both recipes were up against Fried Mac 'N Cheese, Fried Cosmopolitains, the Choco-rito and others.
Although the judges have already made their decision, it will be up to fairgoers to determine which treat is their favorite.
So what is your favorite State Fair of Texas food? Do you have an idea for a future recipe?
