FloydFreak's Blog

Aside form my struggling loropetalum, I have SO much to be thankful for.

I woke up this morning to near-freezing temperatures (again). In the face of global warming we have already had five mornings below freezing here in northern Florida - the first before Halloween. It has warmed to nearly seventy degrees and I am working outside in short sleeves. The maples are in full autumn glory - oranges and reds. So I am most thankful  for my (heavily-mortgaged) home and property.

And this Monday, I start a new - old - job. I am going back to work (for the third time) for my former employer in Pinellas County. Indeed, I will be going back to being away from home three nights a week, but at least I am gainfully employed in a job that I enjoy.

My wife and I enjoy good health and happiness and f or those things, we are eternally grateful.

Life is VERY good!

Happy Thanksgiving one and all!

Happy Turkey Day!
I am thankful for just being able to breathe. I am off the oxygen now (accept I do have to wear it at night when I sleep for now). Now when the Oak trees start their thing I may not be so thankful, but for now I am.

Happy Thanksgiving, Floyd. Glad to hear you've got your old job back. We should feel lucky everyday to be here and able to share our opinions. It's fun to know so many and to hear many differing views.

My turkey wasn't dry! I'm very thankful for that! And i have to pick all my tangerines before the weight of the fruit snaps a branch! All this global cooling has made for a sweet harvest!

HTG FF!

a very happy day to you all (a day late of course...I was busy yesterday combating the forces of evil...)

The one consolation those of us have in our "golden years" Hawk, is the fact that we are not alone.......nothing works very good nowadays and the prospects for improvement is only a faint dream...BUT I am VERY thankful for family, friends, faith and the knowledge that I am able to bring a bit of reason into the world inhabited by those who are less fortunate than I, those who continue to sing the old and stale rote of the past.

We need CHANGE!!

Happy thanksgiving everyone..you too Freak!

Leave it to Yellowduck to make this political! If you want to travel down that road, here goes. By stale you must mean all the stale names from the Clinton years that are being moisten up for Obama's new admin? What will the zombie count be up to once he names Hillary as Secretary of State? Is this the kind of CHANGE he was campaigning on?

There are 3 questions for you to duck. Quack at it!

Seems like our real Thanksgiving turkey is coming January 20th.

Gobble gobble yall!

("Didn't we go through this already a short time ago?") I'm thankful for cheap gas as that's the quickest way for the economy to come back around.

I am your normal, middle-class, "working Joe". But I am also a capitalist and believe that nothing good comes from socialistic entitlement programs. I believe in hunting down and killing terrorists like the little rats that they are (except that that statement is denigrating to rats). I grew up in a very conservative household and was fortunate enough to have had a conservative American Government teacher (a retired US Army colonel) who helped to show me the "right" way. Are there things that I would like to change? Absolutely. But NOT the kind of "change" being espoused by Hillarock Obaminton. I have lived in Florida for forty of my forty-eight years. I've been a big Pink Floyd fan since my teen years hence the moniker, FloydFreak. My friends call me Freak, Floyd, and FF. The libs call me a neocon. I wear that badge proudly. Please note that I enjoy engaging in spirited discussion - even with those with whom I disagree. There are a number of individuals on these boards whom I respect even if I DO think that they're out of touch with reality. Please note also that I do not tolerate personal attacks on my character. If you think that I'm full of BLEEP, you have the right to say so. But drag my character into the gutter and expect retaliation in kind with FloydFreak's own brand of sarcasm. Keep it civil and we'll get along fine. To those of you that see good in America and want the OPPORTUNITY for prosperity for all - and do not just seek to soak it to "the rich", I say God bless you. And God bless America!
