1: no more “locked” cell phones- when you buy a phone you can use it at ANY provider and no more “contracts”.

 

2:  satellite TV – if you want to watch out of area local tv stations you should have the right.

 

3: HOAs- no more “committees”  only  1 person needed to regulate how much you pay for landscaping-architectural reviews ended and rotary clothes lines allowed.

 

3: credit cards- no more APRs over 18 percent max

 

4: no more  “customer charges” and taxes on your electric bill-electricity is vital for life and should not be taxed when they have a monopoly

 

5: no more back door taxes on plane tickets and mobiles

 

6:no more false advertising-a product  either does or does not  work-IE ”MAY” help lower cholesterol etc and no more MSRP- manufactures suggested  selling price don’t mean diddly squat

 

7: no more people speaking 10,000 words a minute in radio ads for the disclaimer so you  cant understand

 

8: no more tiny print on TV ad disclaimers they have to be large fonts and viewable for 5 seconds. So if a car is 300 sign and drive then you must be able to see the ** at the end

 

9: no more working for free- if you work more than 40 hours you should get paid-period !

 

10: no more free healthcare for   the states  reps-let them pay for it like we all do.

 

 

And a bonus- we need to tell Publix that unless they give away food for free- then while im paying for it shopping is definatly NOT a pleasure….

Well I got some kind of cold bug and so Here I am with nothing to do so Im going to give you my Florida Utopia scenario...( a bit of fun)

For The State of Florida

Energy-- I will NATIONALISE the electric/water companies- so that the people own them

(Dont be scared of that word)     and we will pay  for  electric at the cost  to produce it.

IF the electric/water wants to raise money for improvements etc- they will do what we all do- go to the bank !

the Florida Public Service commission (That's an oxymoron) willl be disbanded.

3 new nuclear power plants

New homes- must have 50 percent solar roofs and tankless water heaters

and they must have hurricane shutters and   double glazed windows able to withstand 140 mph winds.

NO HOAs  - it will be the reverse-  when the homebuilder/developer has built out to 90 percent then the homeowners will be balloted  to see IF they want one.

Elected officials-  no other "part time" work while on the peoples Dime.

free healthcare stopped-you will pay for it like the rest of us.

term limits on Every elected position -2 terms and thats it.

property taxes- 700 dollars per 1000 sq ft.- maxiimum.

infrastructure-  roads, bridges , school buildings etc- any company can bid on  jobs but they MUST use 85 percent florida labor.

JOBS- companies setting up here and hiring locals= tax break

Work week- the "right to work"  crapola -eliminated.

work week =35 hours to bring us into the 21st century with our Euro cousins.

no matter if your hourly/salaried-anything over 35 hours is overtime.

 

Disney- Reedy Creek   will be forced to follow the rules like everyone else they are not autonomous.

Security-  large vessels patrolling our waters especially around sth FL.

ENGLISH- Official Language- illegal to "press one for English, 2 for Spanish etc.

NO MORE building  on Beachfront- and  those already there will pay for your own insurance , and no more private beaches- the beaches were there long before us and are for EVERYONE.

No more false advertising on TV/radio  IE   eating  so and so 'MAY" lower your risk of   this and that- it is either PROVEN to or cannot be said.

taxes= the fair tax system.

I am sad to learn of the passing of Paul Newman.

This guy was a class act through and through-  when you think of real screen legends like   Gable, Bogart, robinson, Cary Grant, Hepburn etc      you will put Newman in that group.

not a "hollyweird" person , he used his money to help others, and made some memorable movies along the way.

 

Rest In Peace  Paul-you will be sadly missed.

Trei Johnson's fans are getting some good news.

The former morning anchor at WOFL-Channel 35 will join Central Florida News 13 this weekend. Her new job begins at 3 p.m. Saturday. Joining her at the anchor desk will be meteorologist Peter Caggiano. They will be the new weekend evening anchor team for the channel.

She must of had some clause in her contract  forbidding her to join another local news outfit for a few months

I used to like listening to the radio coming into and going home from work but
man, im so fed up with the amount of commercials…..
Someone always trying to sell me stuff I don’t want or need.

And some of them are so poorly produced its embarrassing-for instance-you can always
Tell a Chevy ad because some guy with a big booming echo voice is on.
Then we have Bud Hedinger telling me how he had no signs of heart problems
And Dr Kronhouse scanned his heart and saved his life (what he don’t tell you however is insurance don’t pay and it costs 1000 bucks)
Now he’s on about his back doctor that helped him etc-bud-you have a lot of problems !

We have Sean Hannity telling me about his “good friends “ at Drew medical and Ruths chris steak house (Yeah like I eat there 3 times a week)

Then there’s the “official” 580WDBO weather forecast- what or where is the unofficial one?
And I love those ads that at the end the guy puts out the disclaimer and speaks so fast you cant understand what the heck he’s saying !

If you listen to ads closely you will hear how stupid they really are.

And don’t get me started about TV ads but mostly they are car and drugs ads
How can driving a Lexus make my life better ?? and all these car ads that have great offers but you see a tiny little disclaimer come up that I cant read because its too small and flashes for a split second.
Notice how all the drugs ads at the end tell you oh yes by the way this drug could cause permanent liver damage or even death !! …..

Im so sold out with ads !!

I watched the grammys last night, what a boring show –so boring I turned off in the end !

 

I know Im not a spring chicken anymore (mid 40s) but I feel sorry for the younger generation

 

They have no “Characters” in music anymore –when I was growing up we had real musicians

 

People who were great songwriters-Lennon/McCartney, Jagger Richards, Mercury,May,Deacon,taylor, etc

 

Today the 20 somethings don’t have  a Keith Richards or BLEEP Jagger. They don’t have a Lennon/Mccartney

 

They have no Led Zeppelin, no Pink Floyd, no Rolling stones, or Queen or Bowie or Elton etc

 

What do they have ? Beyonce-  Christina Aguilera , Michael Buble etc etc

 

(If she was on her game and back in top flight-Whitney Houston could sing Beyonce right off the stage)

 

 

On the other hand a few that Do shine are  mary J, John Legend and john Meyer,Alicia Keys

 

but on the whole-Boring !!

 

(yes im older but I DO know good music and REAL musicians)

I had a recent experience which I want to share, lets say your late with a car payment and you havent paid by the due date, the first thing they do is start calling you and tack on a "late fee" and interest etc

Now consider my case- I had a PC from DELL, paid it off early
yet for 3 months they kept taking money out of my bank account for the payment (even after we called and stopped it)

So the phone conversation went like this
me: wheres my refund check?
Dell: it will be mailed out tomorrow
me: ok -thank you.

3 days later Me: wheres my check
DEll It will be mailed out tomorrow
me : well if the shoe was on the other foot You'd be charging me a late fee and interest would you not?
Dell : yes
Me: so ok, If I have not received my check in 4 business days IM going to tack on a late fee of $25 plus interest
Dell: laughing
Me: whats so funny
Dell: we wont pay late fees or interest
Me: why not you would charge me
Dell: it dont work that way.....

etc etc

( I got my check 12 days later) ....
