Well I got some kind of cold bug and so Here I am with nothing to do so Im going to give you my Florida Utopia scenario...( a bit of fun)

For The State of Florida

Energy-- I will NATIONALISE the electric/water companies- so that the people own them

(Dont be scared of that word)     and we will pay  for  electric at the cost  to produce it.

IF the electric/water wants to raise money for improvements etc- they will do what we all do- go to the bank !

the Florida Public Service commission (That's an oxymoron) willl be disbanded.

3 new nuclear power plants

New homes- must have 50 percent solar roofs and tankless water heaters

and they must have hurricane shutters and   double glazed windows able to withstand 140 mph winds.

NO HOAs  - it will be the reverse-  when the homebuilder/developer has built out to 90 percent then the homeowners will be balloted  to see IF they want one.

Elected officials-  no other "part time" work while on the peoples Dime.

free healthcare stopped-you will pay for it like the rest of us.

term limits on Every elected position -2 terms and thats it.

property taxes- 700 dollars per 1000 sq ft.- maxiimum.

infrastructure-  roads, bridges , school buildings etc- any company can bid on  jobs but they MUST use 85 percent florida labor.

JOBS- companies setting up here and hiring locals= tax break

Work week- the "right to work"  crapola -eliminated.

work week =35 hours to bring us into the 21st century with our Euro cousins.

no matter if your hourly/salaried-anything over 35 hours is overtime.

Disney- Reedy Creek   will be forced to follow the rules like everyone else they are not autonomous.

Security-  large vessels patrolling our waters especially around sth FL.

ENGLISH- Official Language- illegal to "press one for English, 2 for Spanish etc.

NO MORE building  on Beachfront- and  those already there will pay for your own insurance , and no more private beaches- the beaches were there long before us and are for EVERYONE.

No more false advertising on TV/radio  IE   eating  so and so 'MAY" lower your risk of   this and that- it is either PROVEN to or cannot be said.

taxes= the fair tax system.

more to follow

media outlets  are reporting that Ann Coulter has broken her jaw and had it wired shut.

Waa hoo !!

this obnoxious, nasty  woman who said "the 911 widows  wanted thier partners to die so they could get the money"  is silent !!

There IS a god !!

now I know she  makes these statements to sell her crummy books but   its nice to know  she is silent (for a while)

I wonder if   ol Leprechaun Hannity will say anything- after all he is enamoured with her ...

Remember-   to always spay and neuter your republicans !

I just read about Florida House Speaker Ray Sansom,  has been named to a $110,000-a-year job as a vice president at Northwest Florida State College, the latest in a string of legislators to take high-paying posts at schools they have a hand in overseeing.

Am I right in thinking WE are also paying him as a member of the state  government ??

If so WOW- my dad was right-money goes to money !!

can this be legal? should not we ask the people we elect to concentrate 100 percent on the job we elect them to do?

Also Sen. Mike Haridopolos, an Indialantic Republican in line to lead the Senate in two years, was hired to a $75,000-a-year part-time job as a professor at the University of Florida.

75k a year PART TIME !!!

Folks I dont know about you but for the  other 95 peercent of us making 1 wage and doing god knows how many hours, this  just slaps us all in face as these over paid, back slapping politicians  get rich off of our backs.

if you get elected by us to work on our behalf then NO taking other jobs  until you leave the post !!

its not as if they need the 75k part time job to help make ends meet ....

this whole system is corrupt and     unjust my friends....

Lets not forget these two characters are up for re-election...

is the right voting for them just because they are repubs?

or the left voting for grayson and Kosmous becasue the are Dems?

For me -i dont vote in the keller  race- I have read that  Ric "Im only running for two terms" Keller has more or less sided with GWB all the time.

I dont know enough about Grayson.

I WILL be voting to kick out  Tom (I like free golf trips) Feeney.

Under investigation by the FBI, and the Abramoff and De-lay associations  tells me

its time to put a different person on Washington for my area.

Sorry Tom, time to go.

you will be ok tho, IM sure you made many good associations while in DC and wont be without a nice high paying job for long.

This is funny !

The Anchorage Daily News says it would be too risky to put Palin a "heartbeat from the leadership of the free world."

They endorse Obama !

A loss of nine Senate seats would give Democrats a 60-40 majority and allow them to stop Republican filibusters - attempts to prolong debates on legislation in order to prevent its passing.

Just six years ago, Republicans held the White House and both houses of Congress. If Barack Obama wins the White House, Democrats are set to be in their strongest position in Washington since Jimmy Carter ....

Hey repubs....  Dont worry theres lots of room for you all in Caribou Barbies home state-

watch out for the Russkies tho... !

So, do you want  4 more republican years?

under this watch

Government has grown into a behometh

national debt  thru the roof

immigraton problem not solved

Housing crisis

Economy crisis

Iraq/afghanistan crisis

our world standing-shattered.

food prices up

gas prices up

electricity prices up

How can it be any worse?

my mind is made up- it IS time for change.  not 4 more right wing years.

NOW- I expect quite a few right wingers to zing me- fine- but lets keep it ON topic-  not bring in my  national  heritage.(you know who you two are)

Lets DEBATE (nicely)

If this is the outcome in 4 weeks time,  Im wondering what the right is going to do-especially in the radio talk show arena ...

What will old Limbo  and Sean the leprechaun Hannity do for 4 hours a day?

(Is Hannity having an affair with Ann Coulter?)

how about Drudge abnd Gallagher ??  even locally with Jim turner??

what they all going to be talking about ? if the right wins again ?

I guess it will be all guns on Pelosi etc.

that way we can have a right wing Prez, a right wing house  and all the wonderful tax cuts for the rich and big corporations that come with them...

Interesting times "My Friends" .....

:-)

I am sad to learn of the passing of Paul Newman.

This guy was a class act through and through-  when you think of real screen legends like   Gable, Bogart, robinson, Cary Grant, Hepburn etc      you will put Newman in that group.

not a "hollyweird" person , he used his money to help others, and made some memorable movies along the way.

Rest In Peace  Paul-you will be sadly missed.

So  running around after your wife is now  more important that answering to the law??

"Sarah Palin's husband Todd has refused to comply with a subpoena demanding he testify in the "troopergate" investigations because he is too busy working on her election campaign. "

Looks like the Palin boost the repubs got after the conference  has    vanished

put that with shooting animals from a plane for fun

and you get meltdown....

-Unless your Sean Hannity the leprechaun-he loves that woman unconditionally !

The thing that really amazes me these days is that these days there are actually people who BELIEVE in politicians !!

Weve had scandels,  money, drugs  etc

yet we have people today -dont matter  right or left or middle who  BELIEVE in a certain politician !!

I find that absoulty amazing !

ALL polititians  are either bent, corrupt, or involved in some kind of skullduggery   either now or in the past.

My friends (thanks john McC)    dont put your trust in ANYONE in DC or come to think of it at the state level either !

this was an anti polititican  rant-and I approved this message !

No Wonder I hate HOAs !!!!! no common sense at all.............. this guy has gone thru hell and they dont want to help at all. from Local 6 The Sanford man whose wife and son were killed when an airplane crashed into their home may have to tear down his rebuilt house because a homeowners' association said he is breaking their rules.

Joe Woodard's wife and son were killed in the July 2007 crash, and he's been building a new home on the same lot for the past year.  the House of Management Enterprises, which represents the homeowners' association, said the home, which is a few weeks from being completed, does not fit their standards and are demanding that the house be torn down.

According to Woodard, the association wants him to build the exact home he had before.

"The room my wife and I had together, the room my son had ... I don't want to relive everything day by day over again," Woodard said.

In a letter sent to Woodard from the attorney of the homeowners' association, three specific items were mentioned. The shingles on the home and the elevation are not consistent with the community, and the home extends a few feet longer in the back than association standards allow, the letter stated

From todays Sentinel -

IS it time to ban all these lobbyists etc.???  no wonder the people we elect to represent us rarely do ....

8-24-08

"What does it cost to get an audience with Gov. Charlie Crist? If your name is Big Sugar, the price doubled this year.

The Clewiston-based sugar giant's spending on Tallahassee lobbyists surged from a minimum of $252,000 for the first half of 2007 to at least $652,000 through this June.

State compensation reports show U.S. Sugar spent more to lobby the executive branch than any other company in the first half of 2008. The investment paid off in June when Crist announced Florida would buy out the company in a $1.75 billion transaction designed to help restore the Everglades.

But it wasn't just Sugar that upped its investment in good government. Big public hospitals, Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville and State Farm Insurance all spent far more to lobby Crist and executive-office agencies"
