Seems the news media wants to keep this quiet...wonder why???
A large pro-Hamas/Anti-Israel rally is scheduled Sat at Lake Eola in Orlando. In fact, they are busing protestors in from South Fla, Tampa, etc!!! I never thought I'd see the day when people could openly support a terrorist group who wants to destroy Ameica at home!!
Is the media quiet on this so counter-demonstrations won't be held???

The metro-Orlando area has once again broken the number of record murders...123 so far this year, passing the previous 121 two years ago.
Would I be called a racist if I pointed out that the majority of these killings were by minorities, far in excess to the percentage of the population? Would I be a racist if I noted that the crime rate has really taken off since many Katrina "victims" moved to central Fla? By some accounts, I'm sure I would be...at least called that.
What is the solution? More cops? Then why do they cops still spend time trying to shut down the Orlando Weekly and massage parlors when the crime rate continues to climb?
Is there a soluteion?? Anyone out there have an idea?

Republicans stop Big-3 bailout
Dec 12, 2008 | 3:55 AM PST

News
The Republicans in the Senate were able to stop the "Big-3" bailout when the UAW REFUSED to promise to any wage concessions!! Of course, Nancy Pelosi called the the Republicans "irresponsible"!
The UAW, making $75 an hour, REFUSES any wage concessions but the Republicans are the "irresponsible" ones??? Guess the union would rather be without a job at all than take a cut in pay!!!
Not to worry however. The Dems have promised to take this up again in January. After they increase their seats after inaguration, they will be able to put together enough votes to payback their UAW brothers they have been in bed with forever!!
Those of us making $20 an hour will get to bailout those making $75!! UAW employees will continue to get over a million a year from their healthcare program in Viagra!! Only in America!!
Seems Gov Crist felt the names submitted for consideration for the open seat on the 5th District Court of Appeals was not "diverse" enough because it didn't contain a black for consideration. The committee that chose the 6 names to the govenor from 26 that applied has told the govenor to basically "go pound sand".
Affirmative actions hard at work here!! Personally, I want the MOST QUALIFIED fire department responding to my home...the MOST qualified cop, the MOST qualified pilot, doctor, teachers, etc!! I DO NOT want them there because of their sex or color!!!
Because 3 of the 26 that applied happened to be black, why should any of them be given consideration only due to their race? What have a commission to review applications and select BEST QUALIFIED if you are only selecting on race or sex???
Personally, I don't care what color the judge, cop, fireman, teacher, etc is. After 24 years in the military, I learned long ago I want the BEST QUALIFIED covering my butt, not one there due to their sex or color!!
Time to END affirmative actions!! Promote the BEST QUALIFIED. If the BEST QUALIFIED was NOT promoted due to sex or race, they take action! But lets not have a blanket policy of promotion for reasons other than qualification!

Woman sues for ballot in Spanish
Nov 26, 2008 | 7:42 AM PST

A woman in Deltona is suing the Supervisor of Elections because the ballot was not in English AND Spanish!! The law only requires that if at least 5% of the population is hispanic.
We're not Kissimmee....yet!!! Yes, I KNOW Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the US...that you are a citizen. However, being a citizen, you should speak the language of the country!! If you moved here from another county, the citizenship test is in ENGLISH!!!
If you want to vote, learn the language!! Was the lawsuit in English or Spanish??? Ae YOU going to pay to have ballots printed in multiple languages???
This just burns me up!!!

Do you really know what is in the food you feed your dog??? I didn't until yesterday. I thought we were feeding our dog pretty well (Purina and Science Diet) until I met someone yesterday that educated me!!
A website called dogfoodproject.com rates dog food by nutional value. Purina got an "F", as did Science Diet!!! It's like feeding your dog at McDonalds every day!!!
The site gives you a simple, easy to read translation of what the ingredients really are, as well as a list of many dog foods that are good, like Canidae, Flint River and Innova. It also has a store locator where you can find these foods.
The website does not appear to push or advertise any brand, just the facts for the foods you are buying. Apparently, Science Diet, Purina, etc are often sold by vets, so they have a financial interest, or are just not trained in animal nutrition like they should be!! Many of the "fillers" they use are by-products I won't even tell you what is really in them!! Check out the website!!!
Personally, we are going to a store that sells the good food this weekend and changing our dogs diet today!!!
Look into the nutritional value of the food you are feeding your dog!! It may be a bit more expensive, but I'm told you can normally feed your dog 1/2 as much because of the much higher nutritional value! I'm also told your dog will have more energy and less medical problems!!!
B. Hussain Obama has already started buying votes for 2012! He wants to GIVE college students $4000 per year towards tuition for 100 hours community service!! Where I went to school, that's about $40 an hour!!! I want that job!!
Add to that $4000 per student the cost of running the program! Someone to do the paperwork, record the hours worked, submit the paperwork. The $4000 will easily cost us $8000 per student!!!
My mom taught me if you want something, WORK FOR IT!! You will appreciate it more! There are many scholarships and grants for deserving students. They can serve their country for 4 years and EARN it!
Hold on to your wallets. The give-aways have begun!!

Thanksgiving Prayer for our troops
Nov 14, 2008 | 3:09 PM PST
Category:
News
Got this in an email last year...but still applies... Please take one minute from your turkey and football to give thanks for those who are serving around the world protecting our freedom and their families.
THANKSGIVING PRAYER FOR OUR SOLDIERS
Today we gather around the dinner table with family and friends to share good food, warm laughter, and the happy memories of Thanksgivings past. But for many families, whose loved ones serve in the Armed Forces, this year's Thanksgiving celebration will not be complete.
A familiar voice will not be heard and a chair at the table will remain empty because, they have someone far from home serving our country.
Today also, members of the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coastguard (men and women, Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard alike) will gather in mess halls or in tents across the globe as friends and comrades to enjoy the traditional Thanksgiving meal.
So, as those of us who are blessed to be with our families celebrate and give thanks, let us remember in our prayers the homes that have an empty chair at the table and also offer a special prayer of thanksgiving and ask God’s Blessings for the brave men and women of our Armed Forces, whose service and sacrifice will, we further pray, make the world a better and safer place. And a very special prayer dear God, for those homes that have an empty chair that will forever remain vacant and for those servicemen and women who have come back to us, may their sacrifice not have been in vain.
FREE Gov't cell phone????

OK...I guess I missed the memo...but exactly WHEN did a cell phone become a necessity, and not a luxury, that MY tax money is paying for so someone can have one????
I saw a commercial for SafeLink Wireless, advertisinig FREE CELL PHONES for if you are low-income, receive SSI, food stamps, etc. I checked out the website, and sure enough, there it is!!! You and I get to pay for cell phones for others!!!
So again, exactly when did they become a necessity????? We already provide housing, give them tax refunds when they don't pay taxes (earned income credit), welfare checks, etc, etc, etc....So when does it stop????? Tennessee and Florida are the first states to provide this, with more being added.
Don't get me wrong...I don't mind giving a hand up (not a handout like the Libs enjoy), but really, WHEN DOES IT STOP??? I know hard working people that don't have/can't afford cell phones, yet their taxes are now paying for others to have them!!!!

Remembering the truly forgotten

Some of you may have seen a recent post about the services for WWII Vet and Bataan death march survivor Stephen Raymond. I will be attending those services with other members of the Patriot Guard at Bushnell National Cemetery on Sept 24th.
However, also on the 24th we will be attending services for the many unclaimed veterans interred at FNC during the past year. It is so sad. Hundreds of veterans across the country are buried each year with no family or friends to claim the remains. Many funeral homes across the country store countless urns of these veterans, and eventually turn them over to National Cemeteries for their final resting place.
If any teachers are out there reading this, what a GREAT History lesson!!! Taking a class of civics or history students to Bushnell for the day, attending the services of a true American Hero, followed by services for the many forgotten heroes.
I've attended many services at Bushnell...if you don't get a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye (why do you think us ugly bikers wear sunglasses) with the sound of Taps with the flag blowing at half-staff in the breeze, you don't have American blood in your veins.
Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for that poor child and what has probably happened to her, but come on people, I can't even find anything on the news blogs but Anthony, Anthony, Anthony!!! It's worse than a soap opera!!! Everything else is buried!
Please create a new threat like the Traffic or Faith for the Anthony case!
Many of us are sick and tired of this and tired of trying to find REAL news articles on the threads anymore!!
No, this won't get the press or the large crowd at his services had he been a former athletic, movie star or politician. However, in my mind, this member of the "greatest generation" is a symbol of what America is, or should be.
I will be at Bushnell on the 24th to stand in honor of this American Hero with my brothers and sisters from the Patriot Guard. If you would like to join us, please do.
Take a minute and read about this American.
The family of Stephen "Steve" Raymond, United States Army, World War II veteran and Bataan Death March survivor, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to join them in honoring their loved one and hero at interment services for him on September 24th at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Mr. Raymond enlisted in the Army Air Corps in October 1940. Upon completion of basic training, he was assigned to the Forty-Eighth Material Squadron, which was attached to the Twenty-Seventh Bomb Group in Manila, Philippines arriving 17 days before the Japanese invasion of the Philippines and the concomitant attack on Pearl Harbor.Within a week of the Japanese invasion, all of the Twenty-Seventh Bomb Group’s B-17 bombers were destroyed. As a consequence, Raymond and his fellow squadron members were converted to infantrymen and joined in the defense of the mountainous Bataan Peninsula during which time he was wounded in action in ground combat against the Japanese.
After weeks of battling the Japanese, malaria, dysentery and malnourishment, American and Philippine forces were forced to surrender to the Japanese on April 10, 1942. With the surrender, Raymond and his comrades began their living nightmare of starvation, sickness, beatings, torture and death. Raymond’s indomitable will and heroic sacrifice, which are chronicled in his book “Too Dead To Die”, enabled him to survive the infamous Bataan Death March and 3 ½ years as a Japanese prisoner of war in the Philippines and Japan under the most inhumane conditions.
Following his repatriation at the end of World War II, Raymond returned to the United States and was honorably discharged from the Army on May 28, 1946. His military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, POW Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Medal, American Campaign Medal, Philippine Defense Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, Philippine Independence Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge.
He was a personal friend of Rev Hawk and a fellow member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Stephen Raymond did not hesitate to stand for America in World War II enduring indescribable hardships. Let us now stand in silent honor of him. .
