The arguments continue over illegal immigration. It's the same tired bantering, criminals or not. Here is another view.

Along with these "poor immigrants" comes their children. It's hard enough for the parents to find work and the children are left to their own devices.

Many join street gangs to be a part of something, or for protection from other gangs.

In 1981 there were 150 documented street gangs in Phoenix with 85% being Hispanic. Today there are well over 300!!

In 1992, Hispanic gangs emerged as the source of most of Phoenix's gang violence. A distinction still held today.

Much of the Hispanic gang problem had to do with rivalry between home based Hispanic Chicano gangs and gangs comprised of Mexican Nationals.

The gang BLEEP Power (Mojado Power) organized to protect it's members from the home based gangs. The home based Chicanos didn't like the idea that illegal immigrants might be taking jobs away from Hispanics born in this country. Imagine that!!

Even the pro-illegal movement cannot deny the deterioration of neighborhoods such as Maryvale for one example.

The gangs move in and start spray painting everything in sight. They move drugs to support the members.

Long time residence move out and with home values depressed poorer people move in. Hispanics, like other cultures, tend to gravitate to the same areas.

Soon they bring businesses that cater primarily to their community. So now when you drive down a road, such as Buckeye, Van Buren, Thomas or Indian School, West of I-17, all the business signs are in Spanish.

These areas are growing larger and they are not specific to the areas mentioned. They start small and spread out like a cancer.

Most of these people have no long term plans to remain in this country. They are here to make what ever money they can and go back home. But there are far more coming then there are going.

The ones that join the gangs however, have no plan to leave. Why would they, the pickings are easier, and the justice system is much more agreeable.

Pro-immigration makes the argument that these people are just trying to better their lives. This is no doubt true. But the negative affects of this exodus from South of the border are putting strains on this country far beyond it's ability to handle.

The gangs are becoming bolder and more violent. Dead bodies dumped in the desert are becoming common place.

As for the Sheriff, he is a media hound, but he is pro-active. Is he making a difference with the illegal problem? That would depend on your prospective. He really does not arrest that many, but he has had results.

I believe that regular citizens, being more aware of what goes on in their neighborhoods, making tips to the authorities has been of far greater value with the immigration issue.

Now it's up to those authorities, the Mayor, Governor, Chief of Police and the legislators to start enforcing the laws and the will of the people.

Now BC, you know what a real rant is!!!!

I have listened to Rick and Alexis carry on for two days about the pilot who's firearm discharged in the cockpit.

In the same breath they will speculate as to what happened, then they will say that no determination has been reached!! Why can't they wait until investigators release their findings?

I for one am not interested in their opinion. They are there to report the news, not give their views and opinions!

They carry on about what "could have happened". But fortunately nothing did.

If they want to report about narrowly averted disasters then look at how many accidental discharges there are in police locker rooms. Or other accidental discharges there are that involve "trained professionals".

I think it's pretty clear that they are promoting their anti-gut agenda!
