An open letter to Andy Reid

Andy,
We know you like to run a particular flavor of the west coast offense. When it is running properly it is a force to be reckoned with in the NFL.
However at this point it must be apparent you do not have the right players to make this offense run. Blame Donovan not at 100% or the lack of a true deep threat since letting Stallworth go, blame the pigeons on the field yesterday. Bottom line is its just not working.
Take a good long look at the players you have and make the best of it by using your running backs more in true run plays. Your recievers wont need to go as deep if your running backs soften things up a bit.
Its time to realize this team does not fit the offense you like to run so lets find an offense they can run effectively.
Fantasy Football Anyone?

Anyone who is interested in joining a fantasy football league just let me know.
I usually run one off of yahoo's fantasy sports...
Typically we use the autodraft feature so we all dont have to be there live for a draft.
Your team gets stocked will great players in all positions by autodraft.
We have unlimited trades with the free version. So if you have a stable of running backs you can trade out for something you may need like a quality tight end.
For those of you that have never played before the yahoo rules are simple and straight forward and fantasy football has you rooting for players on teams all around the nfl on sunday and monday.
Just comment to this post if you wanna join.
Ok,
Phillies report from last night.
You know its bad when the highlight of the game is when like a 12 year old kid runs onto the field during the game to shake jimmy rollins' hand and jimmy refuses , so the kid decides to slide into second then he is chased all over the infield and the outfield by security. The kid runs to the centerfield wall and tries to jump up onto it to be pulled up and misses. finally security tackles this kid and he got the biggest cheers of the night. It was right out of the bad news bears.
The award for loudest chant at the phillies game?
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!!

If that does not send a message to the forget the players and managers... to the owners of the team, nothing will.
I think the fans of philly are doing all the can to get out there and support the team.
The pre-season emotions from all of philly fans and alot of the country has never been so directed towards the phils in a positive light as it was this year.
Heck even I am venturing out to next fridays game against houston.
The fans are behind the team.
So one has to ask....
Is it the skill level that is lacking on the team or is the desire to win not there?
Did the phils believe their own hype and now are falling flat?
Granted its a long season and 3 losses in baseball in april are not like 3 losses in the nfl in september but still one still has to wonder.
So as we wind down to final four weekend I look back at the seeds this year.
Now every year there is bubble team controversy and bracket issues but this year it looks as though the seeds were planted properly.
All 1's and 2's in place for the final dance.
So do you think the tourney was organized properly this year or is there some bursted bubble team that should have made it in and could have made a run for it.
I just dont see a George Mason in the tourney or the NIT this year.
AJ Is locked in Jeff? Donte?

So they locked AJ in for the long term backup role of the eagles.
Jeff Garcia's stock is going down as the bears no longer seem interested in him.
Will the eagles be able to keep Jeff at a walmart type price? Doubtful and if they do sign him at a bargain it will probably have to be heavily stacked with performance bonuses to keep him interested.
Now what about Donte Stallworth. Rumors are flying that if he cant be an eagle he would love to be a patriot. This guy is a hard core player. He just wants to be paid accordingly. The eagles can parlay Donte into a long term deal with some deferrment options for the future. Why not have along term deep threat and not keep brinign in hired guns. The redskins have been doing the hired guns for years and it just hurts them. Lock Donte into a long term deal with performance bonuses so in the event his hamstring or other injury pops up, it wont hurt the eagles all that much. More importantly, if Donte has a pro-bowl year, he will get paid accordingly.
Eagles Reality...

So the eagles have some decisions to make.
2 Marquee free agents are going to start looking soon.
Donte Stallworth and Jeff Garcia.
As a long time eagles fan I realize they wont keep both and pay the high price for both.
So which will they keep? If either.
Personally, I think they should go with Donte. Jeff had a great run and he might be able to start next year and be somewhat successful, however he is in his twilight of his career.
Donte is young and a powerful weapon. Now of course Drew Rosen-owens is his agent so he will ask for a premium to stay. However Jevon Kearse also has Drew as an agent so its shown people can work with Drew in the eagles organization.
So if they can only keep one for monetary reasons I still say Donte is a long term asset for a deep threat in an offense that needs a deep threat to mix up the west coast passing game.
Now of course the eagles can go the usual route and lose both players but I think they learned alot this season and "other voices" have been heard on the team as well.
your thoughts?
