This info comes from http://lauranachman.net/ .

Here are the numbers to watch come february with the sweeps weeks ratings....

Will they go up? Will they go down? Time will tell.

This is the November Sweeps numbers.....

In other news races, at 10 p.m., Fox29’s newcast (Dawn Stensland, Dave Huddleston, Rob Guarino, and Don Tollefson) leads with a 4 rating/7 share. My17news, powered by NBC 10, follows with a 2 rating/3 share, tied with Dr. Phil on CW57.

At 5 p.m., 6 ABC (Rick Williams and Monica Malpass) leads with a 10 rating/19 share. Dr. Philadelphia has a 4 rating/9 share on CBS 3, Live at 5 (Vince DeMentri) is third with a 4 rating/7 share, and the Fox29 News at 5 p.m. (Kerri Lee Halkett) trails with a 2 rating/4 share.

Now whats interesting is....

At 4 p.m., Oprah on 6 ABC easily leads with a 7 rating/17 share. Judge Judy on Fox29 is second with a 4 rating/8 share, the CBS 3 news at 4 p.m. with soon-to retire Marc Howard and Angela Russell has a 3 rating/8 share, and NBC 10’s All That and More with Tracy Davidson is in fourth place with a 2 rating/5 share.

The lead in drives the 11 pm news quite often. The lead in for the 5 pm news for fox is Judge Judy with a 4/8.  The 5pm news loses 50% of its lead in audience with a 2/4.  Will the addition of John B, be the cure to that 50% loss? Keep in mind as far as revenue goes... The news is locally produced and has less overhead cost than a syndicated show or fox network show as far as syndication fees or revenue sharing with commercial.

Time will tell and this will be a great reference in a few months to see if the right choice was made.

It might seem odd that I am talking about another network's show.

But by the time you finish reading this you will know why.

Jericho was one of CBS''s most original shows in years.

It was the story of Jericho Kansas.  A nuclear weapon goes off outside of town and the town is cutoff from the outside world. No communication.

It looked at how neighbors interact through diversity and as they learn about what is happening in the outside world it brings a whole mythology with it.

CBS cancelled the show today. The ratings had a dramatic dropoff after the show was put on a 2 month hiatus.

ABC did the same thing with its show LOST and that show as well has seen a dropoff in ratings.

NBC did the same thing with heroes.

All of those networks made huge mistakes by taking the shows off the air from  november until february.

Fox has a weekly series as well they treat properly.

24 starts in january and runs straight through until may.

So CBS cancelled Jericho not due to a ratings dropoff.... They slit their own throat with that series when they put it on hiatus.

Since Jericho was cancelled by CBS.......  I would love to see fox pick the series up and give it the proper treatment of not slicing the series up into two pieces and expecting it to thrive.

Please FOX consider bringing jericho back and give it like 18 episodes straight through. No breaks.  No excuses.

First off the on-air personalities on fox 29 are some of the most down to earth people on the air.

I have a curiosity type question which I've often wondered about.

Some of you work the morning shift, some the afternoon and some the evening shift.

Your in the field reporters can work just about any time.

My question is what is your daily routine like?

Like the morning folks, when do you get up in the morning and have to be alseep to make your shift.

Same for the evening crew etc. Also the in the field on call reporters?

How do you balance your personal lives with such unusual work schedules?

Ok its a few questions but I think you folks get the idea. I work a 9-5  monday through friday job, and I sometimes get bent out of shape when I have an evening work function or have to go out of town for a weekend work function. I cant even imagine how you balance your  job and your personal life.

I put this topic in entertainment because you folks are always informing us about people, things, and places in philly. It would be entertaining and enlightening to learn about some of the people who do the reporting.
