So they locked AJ in for the long term backup role of the eagles.
Jeff Garcia's stock is going down as the bears no longer seem interested in him.
Will the eagles be able to keep Jeff at a walmart type price? Doubtful and if they do sign him at a bargain it will probably have to be heavily stacked with performance bonuses to keep him interested.
Now what about Donte Stallworth. Rumors are flying that if he cant be an eagle he would love to be a patriot. This guy is a hard core player. He just wants to be paid accordingly. The eagles can parlay Donte into a long term deal with some deferrment options for the future. Why not have along term deep threat and not keep brinign in hired guns. The redskins have been doing the hired guns for years and it just hurts them. Lock Donte into a long term deal with performance bonuses so in the event his hamstring or other injury pops up, it wont hurt the eagles all that much. More importantly, if Donte has a pro-bowl year, he will get paid accordingly.
