How would you handle a disappointing situation like this?

My son, who lives in Illinois, asked me to make reservations for Mother's Day brunch.  I called the Cotton Exchange two weeks ago and made reservations for 11 AM.  When we arrived we were told there would be a 10 minute wait (which was expected)  However, when we were finally seated at 11:30 we were shuffled out of the banquet hall where the food tables were set and the ambience was conducive to celebrating with one's Mother -- to an adjoining basement room -- looked just like something from the 70's and smelled of MOLD. The carpet was dirty and the dark wood paneling on the walls was in very poor condition.   There were folding tables set up helter-skelter and we had to walk aound-through this maze to get back to the banquet hall for our food.    Our waitress came to the table ONCE with a plastic pot of coffee and that was it until we got the bill.  We paid the same as the people sitting out in the main area.

I was very disappointed, but didn't want to make a scene in front of my son (who had just shelled out $60 ).

What would you have done?
