30 Years has passed since the satanically possessed cult leader, Jim Jones, convinced his congregation of more than 900, to drink cyanide-laced, Grape-flavored Kool Aid and commit mass-suicide. Somehow, Jones successfully convinced  those people that by dying right then and there, they would reach "The Promised Land," right then and there. Many of the "victims" were innocent children who either drank the vile potion willingly, or were forced to choke it down by force. Prior to the "Big Event," several members of "The Jonestown Flock" escaped. Those who survive today were recently interviewed, and as one might expect, remember those frightful times as though it were yesterday. Not only do they claim to suffer from terrible nightmares, (so would I!) they also say they are wracked with  "survivor's guilt," because they were unable to take other family members with them when they fled. Stephan Jones, the surviving son of the evil Jim Jones, was 19 years old when the insanity took over the compound, and the tainted Kool Aid trickled down the throats of the congregation. Today, he owns a successful company, and is the father of 3 daughters. He regularly joins in private reunions with other survivors. He says by doing so, it's helped him to recognize the difference between good, evil, and mental illness. All of which existed in his father, he claims. I'd venture to say the scales were tilted heavily toward evil, narcissism and demonic possession.

To The SCUMBAGS who are prowling around our

peaceful Town of Lake Helen:

DON'T COME AROUND HERE ANYMORE! WE'RE ALL WAITING AND WATCHING FOR YOU!

Yesterday, I was leaving my neighbor's house, across the street. As I was leaving, a vehicle unfamiliar to me was driving by my house and hers very slowly and the passanger was  pointing as they drove by. I only got a very good look at the passanger, and was unable to see any of the other occupants. I circled back around, and pulled back into my friend's drive way, and asked her who that was. She said she didn't know, but would "keep an eye out." As I pulled out, I saw them BACK INTO another neighbor's driveway;  neighbor's I KNEW, for a fact, were at work. I stopped in the middle of the road and watched. (It's a rural road-not much traffic) I dialed my friend, and told her what was going on. Her husband put his pistol in his waistband, while my friend dialed the work number of our friends, where this vehicle was sitting in their driveway, just to see if they were "expecting company." (NO!) Meanwhile, R- is walking up the street, some 200 yds to our neighbor's driveway, and the vehicle pulls out, goes to the NEXT house, and backs in. As he approaches THAT house (where an elderly lady lives) it pulls out, goes to ANOTHER friend's house, who is at work, and backs into their driveway. By now, my friend, is on the phone with 911. Lake Helen P.D. and a Deputy Sheriff from Volusia Co. respond. LATER, MUCH LATER they catch up with the "suspicious vehicle," but find nothing wrong. LAST night, at 9:29pm, ANOTHER neighbor, a very good friend of mine, who just so happens to WORK at L.H.P.D. comes home to find an INTRUDER inside her house! He bolts. It takes time, but a perimiter IS set up, the Sheriff's Helicopter, K-9's and extra patrol's ARE called out. BUT HE GOT AWAY!  Here is MY message, to YOU,  ALL PROWLERS, INTRUDERS, AND SCAMMERS:

DO NOT COME ON OUR PROPERTY. YOU WILL NOT LEAVE ALIVE!

You have been warned. People in Lake Helen watch out for each other, and we're serious about protecting families, ourselves, our property and each other.

Gangs are alive and well, and not just the "Copy Cat" versions, either. What Law Enforcement considered was "cutting the head off the snake" by snagging a major "gang leader" of "The Bloods," in Flagler County recently, is in reality,  just the tip of the iceberg. "The Bloods," who pride themselves with such accomplishments as home invasions, armed robberies, murders, and drive-by shootings, once only "employed" recruits who were Black and male. Not anymore, according to to Sheriff Don Flemming, of Flagler County. Recruits as young as middle school age, both male and female, White, Hispanic and Black are all welcome. As long as they pass the "initiation" test. "Blood in", to join, if you're male, if you're a female, "sex in," to join might do the trick. "The Bloods" are in "competition" for turf with (just to name one of many) the "ELA 13" gang, which stands for the "East LA 13 Gang" a known Mexican-influenced Gang. The influence of gangs in Volusia County is enough of a thorn in the side of Law Enforcement,  that a "Gang Task Force" was established, for Deltona, alone. If we could just get these gangs to be as aggressive toward Radical Muslim Terrorists, as they are the American People, we'd have a "Homeland Security" like none other!

Alan Greenspan may have conceded that the national economic meltdown left him in a "state of shocked disbelief," but I seriously doubt he had ANY trouble paying for his double-stacked pastrami on pumpernickel, nor is he losing any sleep over how many of HIS 401K dollars are quietly trickling down the sewer, faster than "Joe the Plumber" can stop it up! He as full of the pastrami in his belly, if he thinks the Feds are buying that he didn't see the "credit tsunami" coming a long time ago. He had a radar for financial matters, like a weatherman has a "Big Doppler." I'm not saying it's entirely his fault, of course, but he certainly had more insight than the rest of us! At any RATE, Alan Greenspan isn't really worried, not personally, anyway. Why should he be? He's not being affected by it personally, and neither is anyone in HIS family!

Why are we so concerned about whether or not executions are "painful" to those who are receiving them? Why should we CARE if they cry out, "Ahhh, THAT hurts, Charlie!" ? After all, those receiving the Death Penalty have obviously committed an extremely pernicious, unusually violent, often desecrating act against another innocent human being(s).  Often, they show little or NO remorse for what they have done, or try to JUSTIFY it, by claiming they were "warped by their childhood."  I  KNOW Click here to find out more! what the Constitution says about it. What I want to know, is why there are so many people who care so much about "how it feels to the inmate" receiving their final punishment. I just don't get it. Don't they consider the way the victim's of the crimes suffered? The ways they were likely tortured, raped and then killed, sometimes even being forced to watch those they love going through the same thing before THEY were killed?  I strongly believe our "Death Penalty" is too kind!    I believe if the Death Penalty was a horrifying,  excruciatingly painful experience, and done in such a way that it could be viewed publicly, for those who wished to watch, the crimes of violence against innocent victims would drop dramatically. I have absolutely ZERO sympathy for ANYONE who suffers another human being into death for their own gratification, WHATEVER that may be. I wouldn't be opposed to public firing squads, old-fashioned quarterings, ( although that would make a helluva bio-hazard mess) or hangings! U.S. Constitution: Eighth Amendment

''Cruel and Unusual Punishments'' .''Difficulty would attend the effort to define with exactness the extent of the constitutional provision which provides that cruel and unusual punishments shall not be inflicted; but it is safe to affirm that punishments of torture [such as drawing and quartering, embowelling alive, beheading, public dissecting, and burning alive], and all others in the same line of unnecessary cruelty, are forbidden by that amendment to the Constitution.''

State Wildlife Officials have been tossing around the "idea" of  a State run and managed hunting season on the Black Bears that have not been hunted in this state since 1994. Nearly every week, we are seeing and hearing stories about bears showing up in subdivisions, mall parking lots, school playgrounds, backyards and even in an occasional swimming pool. While Wildlife Conservationists and animal lovers cry, "Not fair! We took the bear's habitat, they were here first!" Lobbyist in favor of managed hunts don't disagree, but argue back, "It's  a little late to be thinking about that, once that subdivision is in place!" Now that their habitat has dwindled, bears have been forced to search for vittles outside the parameters of their normal dwelling. Bears who "offend" by showing up in populated areas are usually relocated, but research has PROVEN that "troublesome bears...often don't learn their lesson, and are likely to re-offend." That is, they return to the area they were removed from. When they do that, they are euthanized.

So really, what's better? Allowing the bears to cause traffic accidents, in order to "get to where they wanna go"  (usually totaling the vehicle-and injuring the occupants) continue to pose a threat to human beings by invading populated areas or allow a managed hunt, to "thin them back," so they won't HAVE to venture out of what's left of their habitat, in search of food?

I say allow Bear Hunting NOW, before someone, especially a CHILD is hurt or killed by a hungry bear, a Momma bear, protecting her cubs, or an aggressive male bear in search of a sow, during mating season!

The FBI, CIA, Secret Service, Homeland Security and ALL Law Enforcement Agencies KNOW that PROFILING Criminals WORKS, so why is there a big fuss going on about it, NOW? Just because we're in an election year, the "Race Card" is coming out of the deck and once again being slapped on the table. Those who have dedicated their lives to protecting American citizens, have been told they must "find, and determine who is and who isn't a criminal," by means other than their nationality, ethnicity or look.

I, for one would probably choose to exit a plane immediately, if several men of Middle Eastern Descent suddenly boarded together.  Would I be wrong to feel nervous?  Why shouldn't I be? If I'm walking through the parking lot outside of Walmart, and I'm suddenly approached by 3 guys with dreadlocks, droopy drawers, untied shoes, staring dead at me, I WILL reach for my pistol; and be ready, should they mistake me for a helpless victim. Is it wrong of me to think they might be criminals? Why should I think otherwise?  If I see a girl weaving out of TJMaxx, with track marks up and down her arms,  I'd deliberately choose a cart, other than the one she just dropped off. Why would I be wrong not to want to "pick up" something she may be "carrying."  All of those are examples of "Profiling," and I know I'm not the only one who does it. I can remember back when Robert Vogel was Sheriff of Volusia Co. He and his deputies got into a PILE of trouble for "Profiling" suspected drug dealers going down 95. They were specifically looking for larger model cars, with sagging "rear ends"  and 2 or more "Black or Hispanic" drivers. Man, did they stop alot of cars carrying dope. But some "hotshot" lawyer said it was "profiling," and some of the cases were thrown out. Vogel was later exonerated, as he should have been, but here we are again.

"Profiling-Schmofiling"! If it smells like a rotten sneaker, and looks like a rotten sneaker, chances are....

MY QUESTION IS: IF PROFILING WORKS, IT'S ACCURATE!  SO WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?

An 11 year old robs a Walgreens? What is an 11 year old doing so UNSUPERVISED, that his PARENTS don't know where the little BRAT is long enough, that he even has enough free, UNACCOUNTABLE TIME ON HIS GRUBBY  LITTLE HANDS to pull it off in the first place? The parents should be going to jail, right along with him! An 11 year old IS NOT old enough to be UNSUPERVISED for longer than say, 15 minutes at a time, SO HOW DID THIS HAPPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE??????

IT ALL starts at   H  O  M  E  !!!!!

Is it just a matter of time before the real QUIETUS comes tumbling down on the Anthony's, and all the deep, sinister, esoteric, montrosities of what REALLY happened to little Caylee Anthony are finally revealed? From the way "Grandma Cindy" was flipping out when she called 911, it goes without saying that her concern for little Caylee is genuine. I still think she's sick in her heart, "putting the pieces of the puzzle together," which by now, must be revealing to her a very ghastly image. Now she seems more focused on the well-being of her daughter, Casey, Caylee's Momma, who is probably the ONLY one who REALLY knows what happened to "Baby Caylee." Lord knows, MOST Momma's would be out of their minds, inconsolable, after their baby had been missing for 31 minutes, never mind 31 days. THAT'S 44,640 minutes of NOT KNOWING where your baby is! How could she be so calm, cool and collected, without being guilty of some horrendous, atrocity against her child? Borrowed a shovel from the neighbors, eluded her parents questions and requests to see their Granddaughter, failed to cooperate with the authorities, won't look a camera in the lens, much less speak to the media, it never stops, and the scale keeps tipping against Casey Anthony. CSI's, their lab reports, the recovery teams and the "dogs" are closing in. It's just a matter of time, before the clouds burst open, and the truth comes pouring out! It won't be good, but at least it will be over. Poor little Caylee Anthony.

There have been  9 CONFIRMED cases of

Equine Encephalitis here in Volusia County. Earlier this week, we were with neighbors down the street who called us to come and "take a look" at one of their horses that was "down and acting strangely." As soon as we saw the animal sweating, staggering, heaving, struggling to stand, eyes rolling, and obviously  suffering, we recognized the signs most dreaded by any horse owner of the deadly Encephalitis Virus. We immediately asked them if the horses shots were up to date. They admitted that they were NOT. After calling 8 Veterinarians, we were FINALLY able to get one to come out. (It WAS Sunday, and it WAS late, and the other 7 Veterinarians didn't know these people, so it was understandable why they either refused the call, or were putting their own clients first)The Veterinarian who arrived checked the suffering animal over carefully, drew blood, shook his head, wiped his eyes and turned to the people and said," I know what is wrong with your horse, and I don't need the results of the blood in this vial to tell me what the diagnosis is. Your horse has Encephalitis, and he isn't going to make it. He's suffering terribly, as you can see, and I think you should put him down right now." The owners agreed, and the poor horse was put to "sleep." By law, the vial of blood was sent off for confirmation of the Vet's suspicions.

Several years ago, we went through a similar experience with a roping horse we had by the name of "Bubba." The virus not only did all of the above symptoms to him, it also changed his personality! He became hostile, trying to "stomp" anything that came near him. He HAD been vaccinated, BUT that was before the "Western Equine Encephalitis Vaccine" had been invented. There are now 2, both "Eastern and Western Equine Encephalitis Vaccines," contained in one vaccine. We vaccinate our horses every 3 months, just to be safe. If you are a horse owner, I IMPLORE you to get your horses vaccinated!  The "East-Western Equine Encephalitis" variety is available at your feed stores.  Don't let your horse get this, it is the most AWFUL way to watch a horse die, it's pure suffering!

The Grand Jury has just indicted the low-down prison inmate, Enoch Hall, who brutally ambushed, then  attacked, raped  and stabbed to death the beloved prison guard, Donna Fitzgerald. Enoch Hall was all ready serving 2 life sentences for brutally raping, kidnapping and nearly killing another woman. His criminal record is one of great length. I'm willing to bet he'll be convicted of his crimes against her, and be given the Death Penalty. Now, here's my question:  When he gets the Death Penalty, since we all KNOW it will take 20 years to "put him to sleep",  Why can't we just "pop him in the head" now, and get it over with? Why do we have to waste our good tax dollars on someone who has no value for the life of another human being? He'll be living in the "Lap of Starke Luxury," eating "country fried steak" and mashed 'taters, while some homeless people will be going hungry. Why should people like him, and the others sitting on Death Row take so long to execute? It should be done immediately, within 24 hours of the sentence being handed down!

The other night I was laying in bed around 3am( because I had been up sick all night) when all of a sudden I hear someone knocking on my bedroom window!! I of course call the police and let this person know I am callling....Well 45 minutes later the police show up!!!!! Meanwhile this person sat in front of my building with 2 other people! I have no idea who this was nor what they wanted...but I am so glad that they didnt get into my apatment because by the time police showed up it would have not been a good scene...What my problem with all of this is all the attacks on women that are happening in our area and my call still meant nothing. The officer that showed up was very condesending in the way he spoke to me and acted as if  it would be my fault that some unknown man was banging on my window wanting in!!! How am I supposed to feel safe now? I can tell you all now that I dont feel safe and I now know I can not depend on our police dept for help! This is very sad...I can not wait till my lease is up and I am moving out of Orlando all together!!!!

I replied to this post, and my reply was deleted by QTPARAMEDIC, I guess he didn't like what I had to say. Here's what I said:  "Living where I do (out in the country) and where you do, ( in an apartment complex)  things would be handled a little differently. If someone came knocking on my bedroom window at 3am, I'd be knocking back with the barrel of my .38. .45, or some other handy firearm, and asking, "Would you like to find out what is inside of this barrel?" I have a front door, fully equipped with a doorknocker and a doorbell, for civilized visitors to use."

So I went back apologized. And that was deleted, too! Here is what I said:  "I see you deleted my post, I'm sorry if I said something that offended you. We just do things differently here in the "country" than ya'll do "down there in the Big City."

Was there anything that violated TOS rules, as far as any of ya'll can see? Would you have deleted my posts?

Please don't feed the bears!

AP fileA black bear takes a drink from a soda bottle after going through a neighborhood's trash can.

""Lardasse" looking' for leftovers.

Here's the bear we're guessing to be around 375- 400 lbs that frequently visits the back yard of my friends, Bryan and Tiffani, who live just West of DeLand, off of Hwy 44. Their backyard. Their trashcans are encased in steel cages, but that hasn't stopped him! They have 4 kids, the youngest is 14 months old. He's been up on their porch before, looking in their windows.

According to the folks over at the

Florida Wildlife Commission,  Some people  have actually been putting out "scraps" for bears, enticing them to come and "join them" for a little snack. That is a HUGE MISTAKE! Not only is it extremely dangerous to humans, it puts the bears at risk, too. It encourages them to come out of the woods, cross busy highways, and look for an "easy meal," instead of "working" for one. Granted, it is true that humans have nearly obliterated ALL of their habitat by squeezing one subdivision after another into "their" woods. We have also allowed them to overpopulate. The average male bear needs 50-100 miles, just to himself to roam.

A managed, regulated, reasonable bear hunting season needs to be allowed in Florida again. Bears are no longer a dwindling species here, they are nearly over taking us. Cute as they may be, they will literally rip your scalp clean off of your  skull, and wipe the ground clean with your face, if you corner a Momma with cubs, come between a boar and a sow, corner one, or take one by surprise. All the stories and tactics you've heard about "making yourself look big," making a lot of noise," "assuming the fetal position," and "climbing the nearest tree," are hogwash, and rarely work in the instances listed above. The best thing that can be done for now, until something can be done about their overpopulation, is to keep your garbage secured, and never, ever feed a bear! No matter how cute they look, no matter how much they may look like they just "wanna be your friend"!

I love MOST people, especially children and old people, and I am especially offended when someone hurts one of them. "NEVER WRESTEL WITH PIGS, THE PIGS LIKE IT, AND YOU'LL JUST GET DIRTY!" Modified from a quote by my dear friend, jfore
