"April Showers Bring May Flowers"

or so the saying goes.

Looking back at the National Weather Service data for RAINFALL, here is what I found for the City of Philadelphia...

9.05 inches  Last April 2007

(Some of it, SLEET)

1.19 inches so far...    April 2008

3.49 inches NORMAL FOR THE MONTH

Next Chance of Rain ?  This Weekend.

Keep watering your GRASS SEED.

Allergy sufferers take note:

Tree pollen will remain high with very little relief until we get some showers to "cleanse" the atmosphere temporarily.

Keep the rain away ! I don't like rain !

However, with the lack of rain, my allergies have really been kicking up. I went out and bought myself a 45 day supply of Zyrtec on Sunday...works great for 24 hours !

Now I can enjoy the beauty of April without allergies :-)

The last two warm/dry Aprils we had were '94 and '02...both were very warm summers...'94 one of the warmest on record.

A 45 day supply works great for 24 hours ?

Tsk tsk tsk. Now wonder we're going down the tubes.

Why, when I was your age, a 45 day supply would work great for 45 days !

You know what I mean, JT. LOL.

Each INDIVIDUAL PILL works great for 24 hours...all 45 of them. LOL.

JIM NICHOLS IS GOING TO NBC WEATHER PLUS
I heard that Jim is going to Weather Plus as a meteorologist. His last on-air appearence will be this weekend. I think they should keep Jim!

An isolated t-storm NORTH of Philly looks possible late this afternoon and evening.

Can never trust those advertised "moisture-starved" fronts this time of year.

Hey David, just wanted to let you know I am still watching when you are on. Not watching the 5 or 10 during the week, the way he talks just gets on my nerves.

Judging by the number of 'helicopters' on my maple tree it looks to be expecting some dry weather. Almost time to fire up the sprinklers

Hi, I'm David Aldrich, the Weekend Meteorologist for Fox 29. I'm a "weather geek" at heart and love to talk about all aspects of Philadelphia weather. I joined the FOX 29 Weather Team in October 2005, as the "Ten O'Clock News" weekend weather anchor. I also produce and report on the weather three days a week on "Good Day Philadelphia." In August 2006, I was upgraded by the American Meteorological Society to their Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation, a professional recognition of the quality of my weather broadcasts. I also hold the Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association.Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, I attended the University of Delaware before transferring to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in radio, television and motion pictures in 1992. I then attended North Carolina State University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology in 1999.
