It seems that once again, someone is spouting off without facts. If people would do their research, they would most likely be taken seriously rather than be automatically discounted and their words dismissed every time they open their mouths (as in the case of John Wiley Price).
The latest rant from our own circus clown here on the blogs shows he has no idea what he's talking about, as usual. If he actually knew the facts of where this song (Barack the Magic Negro) originated and what the song implies he might actually become enlightened. I know, I know. Miniscule chance. The facts that slip by him (as happens often) is that this was based on an opinion piece written by black liberal David Ehrenstein for the LA Times back in '07 called, "Obama, the Magic Negro".
Larry Elder (a black radio talk show host) said recently, "Never mind the parody actually satirized Al Sharpton. The song implies that Sharpton hoped against an Obama victory, for it crushes Sharpton's argument about America's alleged institutional racism, a force so potent in a country so racist that Obama could not win. An Obama win threatens to reduce the significance of Sharpton-like black leaders. And never mind a black liberal – who started the whole thing – called Obama a "negro."
Elder further states, "After all, for 100 years, the Democratic Party showed its tone deafness to the rights of blacks. Democrats opposed the 13th Amendment (freeing the slaves), the 14th Amendment (making ex-slaves citizens) and the 15th Amendment (that, on paper at least, gave blacks the right to vote). Democrats founded the Ku Klux Klan – some even call it the "terrorist wing of the Democratic Party." And a greater percentage of Republicans than Democrats voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
More examples of Democratic racism? Okay. "Alabama Gov. George "segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever" Wallace was a Democrat. Georgia Gov. Lester Maddox, who as a restaurateur, left pick handles hanging on the walls to provide customers recourse in the event an uppity black tried to enter his restaurant. He was a Democrat. Arkansas Gov. Orville Faubus attempted, in 1957, to prevent the integration of Little Rock High School. He was a Democrat. Bull Connor, the commissioner of public safety for Birmingham, Ala., turned water hoses and dogs on civil rights activists. He was a Democrat.
Even more examples of Democratic racism today? The Democrats in the Senate turned away the Junior Senator from Illinois Roland Burris from being seated (it would have only taken a phone call from "Dingy" Reid) and was escorted from the building, even refusing Senator Burris a chance to use the facilities. Shades of the "whites only" bathrooms and water fountains, wouldn't you say?
As we've witnessed, it's quite alright for some to throw that "racist" label around not caring who it's aimed at, but when the tables are turned (as was recently shown) they don't seem to like it at all.
The Dems realize what a HUGE mistake they've made by not allowing the only African American Senator to be seated and now have decided to rightfully seat Senator Burris. Picture that crawfish backing away, backing away. Once again, Democrat racism and hypocrisy on display for all to see.
You can find Larry Elders full article here: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?pageId=84995>
Time for a certain someone to pick and parcel comments and repost a repost so that it's at the front of the line! lol Pathetic.

Seeing as how my blog regarding this same subject was removed (though not sure why), I've decided to repost . It's amazing isn't it how the one party that kept segregation alive and had a former klansman as a Senator yet claims to champion civil rights is the same party to not allow what would be the only African American Senator from being seated for the upcoming legislature. Sometimes the headlines just write themselves (tip of the hat to Dammitmike). On a personal note, I've yet to be shown the instances of my supposed racism as was promised by a lost blogger. Kinda difficult to find what doesn't exist, wouldn't you say? Next?
Liberal Democrat Racism (With a lil hypocrisy thrown in)
We are now seeing Senator Harry "Dingy" Reid claiming that he and his fellow Democrats have the authority to not seat the newest Jr. Senator from Illinois Roland Burris. See Stylegal's post regarding Burris' news conference for more info (Burris press conference: I am the junior senator from Illinois 1-5-09). The Democratic party is the first to always shout and holler racism from the top of the rafters. Governor Blagojevich has not been indicted or convicted of any crime so he is well within his rights to name and seat a replacement Senator. From first glance there doesn't seem to be any reason why Senator Burris cannot and should not be seated. What, praytell, could be his reason for refusing to seat Burris? Seeing as how the Democratic party has a long history of racism (Senator Robert Byrd, Governor George Wallace, Bull Conner, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson etc ad infinitum) one could only guess the REAL reason behind such a debacle. As so beautifully stated by the lovely Michelle Malkin, "It's getting all Jerry Springer in Washington. Grabbing a bag of popcorn for the freak show".
P.S. One last note to leave you all with. This gem from a certain racist blogger. I have only one question: Were you wearing blackface paint while typing your usual rhetoric such as this?

The tent flap has been pulled aside and the circus is underway. Junior Senator Roland Burris arrived in Washington to fulfill his duties as Senator and headed to Capitol Hill to try to be sworn in but was turned away by the Secretary of the Senate. About 30 minutes ago he made the following statement to reporters. "My name is Roland Burris, the Junior Senator from the state of Illinois. I presented my credentials to the Secretary of the Senate and advised that my credentials were not in order, I would not be accepted, I would not be seated and I would not be permitted on the floor and therefore I am not seeking to have any type of confrontation. I will now consult with my attorneys and we will determine what our next step will be."
This ruins the Democrats first day, ruins their footing. They're trying to get moving and trying to get things going. In addition, this would be the only African-American Senator in the United States Congress. Now tell me, if this were a Republican majority, would Burris be by himself? Where's the outrage from the NAACP? We've not heard a peep from the Congressional Black Caucus? Could this be the change the anointed one was speaking of?
Chaos and mayhem to follow. Pass the popcorn?
On another note, *sigh* in Lost "Al Jolson" Hwy's latest rant, he referred to yours truly as a "Republican racist blogger". We all know that the lost one does not allow comments on his lofty blogs (but he does enjoy reading and posting on mine!) so my response was to ask this high intellect to provide examples of my racism. He's replied, "No problem", but apparently it is VERY much of a problem as he's given examples of others perceived racist remarks but my alleged remarks are mysteriously absent. Imagine that. Again, lil Losty, where are the examples of MY racism. Is that too hard to understand? Where are the statements that you supposedly attribute to ME.
And while you're at it attempting to find the impossible, how about some instances where I "always had a good laugh along with fellow racists", as you stated? I'll wait for that one for awhile too because you won't be able to find them. You can try though.
Meanwhile, while you're searching for those instances, we have concrete evidence of YOURS. Deny or rationalize all you will, it won't change change the fact of the overt racism you've depicted.
You have a great day now m'kay? :)

I'd like to nominate Superman as our MVP of the myfoxdfwblogs.
With that said, I was just watching his latest post on the NEWS section of the blogs and finished watching the video he imbedded of a pro-palestine rally in Ft. Lauderdale Florida when it suddenly disappeared. Did you pull this one Supes? Hopefully it wasn't taken down by *cough cough* unknown sources as it was pretty powerful stuff. The video before that featured a speaker talking about negro spirituals. What made me sit up straight was when the Imam stated that people "...will have no choice to but to accept Islam..." supposedly because it's part of our nature??? Isn't this a great country where people can come and demonstrate and speak out on various things but if you or I try and do that in, say Palestine, you'd most likely get taken away in a body bag? Seeing the "Nuke Israel" signs and hearing "There is no Israel" or, when a demonstrator is yelling to a pro-Israel person that they should "be put into ovens".... wow. It's disheartening and sad but there will never be an end to this conflict. Israel has a right to protect its people by any means necessary and after holding back time after time after time while rockets rain down upon its civilians, they finally said, "ENOUGH!". I'm glad. Time to take care of business, Israel. God bless you.

It seems that Republicans are constantly on the mind of a certain blogger. His claims that some of us say that the Democrats are to blame for all of America's ills is hogwash and is typical of this person. Anyone who thinks that one group of politicians is solely responsible for our troubles is living in a fantasy land. It's been a collaborative effort/failure by both parties and it's left us in dire straits. Still, some will continue with the same rhetoric. As in, "Let's pain everyone with the same brush! Weeeee!" Uhhhyeah. Doesn't work. Don't like what a few people say? Let's label them all racists! Don't like someone's views? Let's call them all idiots! It's an old, tired game that's played its last hand a looong time ago. As we've seen, though, there will be those lurking around to keep that worn out game going and keep up the constant haranguing of others.
The "supposed" debunking that this person has put forth has been fiction at best. This person considers op-ed articles as truth when in fact they are anything but. Yet many of us on the other side of the aisle bring hard facts backed with footnotes and actual excerpts from documented sources. For example, even when faced with rulings from the Senate Ethics Committee's official release, this person will close his eyes and stomp his feet, throwing a tantrum and swear up and down that he's right and the Committee is wrong. He knew all the facts of the case, they didn't. Sound familiar? And it wasn't just one instance and one person. It's happened quite often.
In many posts, some of us will use a politician's own words to pen our missives. Such as Obama's now infamous, "spread the wealth" socialism volley caught on video. Then there are others that will take a SNL skit parody like Tina Fey's "I can see Russia from my house" line and believe and swear that it came directly from Governor Palin's mouth. For those airheads out there that believed it (and you know who you are), come closer and I'll share something with ya. *whispers* Governor Palin said that Russia could be seen from parts of Alaska. Now THAT, my lost friends, is fact. But keep believing and drinking the kool aid as there is ample supply out there.
Speaking of the lovely Governor Sarah Palin, she was recently given the honor of being named Conservative of the Year. All true conservatives should applaud this as Governor Palin is the epitome of conservatism. She was attacked and villified by the left for many things including having the audacity to give birth to a Down Syndrome baby rather than do what they wouldn't have had a problem with at all: murdering an unborn child. Even now blogs continue to be dedicated to her for everything from tanning beds to abortion kits to her daughter conceiving out of wedlock. *GASP* You mean there are children out there that don't listen to their parents??? Yet hypocrisy is brought up when in fact it's hypocrisy on display when it comes to these certain bloggers. As has been pointed out countless times. Example? Less than two hours before an imagined heart-felt blog was posted saying that we can all get along despite our disagreements, this person was spraying someone's post with his version of kindness. Pyscho much? Even still these people just can't seem to let go of a good thing. Can we blame them though?
Picture a shrine, if you will, with the lovely Governor Palin as the focus of adoration. This shrine is sprinkled with gifts and tokens of desire. Many times a day this person prostrates himself before said shrine and offers his undying affection for Sarah. He goes to bed thinking of her. He wakes up thinking of her. His very being is consumed by thoughts of her. She... is... his.. all. He wants no one to know about this twisted form of love for her though. So he develops a plan to have people think he actually hates her. Just like that little kid in school that would hit the girl he liked or pull her hair, he dedicates entire blogs to her in the hopes that we don't actually see into his twisted mind. The truth is known, however. Much to his dismay. Try as he might, he can't get away from Governor Palin and he won't anytime soon. She's a star on the political stage for many years to come. So he'll continue worshipping at the shrine, all the while drooling and twitching as loony left websites are perused. When's the next blog? We can't wait! We enjoy the circus! But wait....
Alas, he is leaving us yet again. When things didn't go his way, he took his ball and wouldn't let anyone else play. Nevermind the fact that he was playing jacks while the rest of us have been outside playing kickball the whole time. His feel-good (for him) blog was up yesterday for all of 2 hours before his true colors showed and out spewed the same garbage and nails-on-a-chalkboard whining. Good riddance myfoxdfw blogs, he signs off? You are the one supposedly leaving... AGAIN. The myfoxdfw blogs will still be here. So shouldn't it be us saying "good riddance"? Yeah, thought so. Don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya. And please don't bother replying to my blogs as you and your alters' incessant babble will be deleted. You have a nice life now, m'kay?

I'm not a Cowboy fan but even they must admit that the wheels have fallen off this team. In my opinion the blame can start at the top. Jerry Jones needs to let football people make the football decisions for this team. We've all seen what "hands on" owners do to teams. Check out Al Davis in Oakland and Daniel Snyder in Washington. When Jimmy Johnson had control, the result was multiple super bowls. Since Johnson was booted out and Jerry Jones became more hands on, this is what has become of the franchise. Bill Parcells wasn't liked by some of the players but you can't say that his team lacked discipline. I'm not laying all the blame on Wade Phillips but what does it say about Parcells when he goes to running a Dolphin team that had only 1 win in '07 and one year later they are in the playoff race? Like him or not, this guy's got football smarts.
Jerry, do yourself a favor and let the people you pay do their thing. Otherwise you'll continue seeing an underachieving team and a disappointing franchise for your new shrine.

I enjoy watching and playing sports. But doggone it if there aren't some things that go on during the games that make me scratch my head and say, "What the heck?" or “You’ve gotta be kidding me!”. Some of these actions done by players, coaches and fans have gotten on my nerves and I know it's petty, but I'm gonna list some of them. Feel free to jump in and list some of your own.
- Football players that excessively celebrate after making a tackle/catch/sack/. I can understand getting a good pop on someone or making that first down but act like you've been there before. Don't act like you just had a seizure or had ants placed in your jock. There’s a clip of an arena football player that celebrated a little too much after a play and ended up tearing ligaments in his knee. Also a place kicker did the same thing. Who can forget the time an NFL quarterback headbutted the stadium wall near the stands and injured himself. Classic idiots.
- Giving the free throw shooter "five" after a miss. Giving someone props for making a free throw, okay. Giving the person five after a miss? Huh? The guy just cost your team a point. How about a smack in the back of the head? It'd be more appropriate.
-MVP chants. It’s one thing to back your team’s star but to start the MVP chants 5 games into the season is pretty ridiculous.
-The National Anthem. Allowing the supposedly talented people in the music industry to butcher the song is a tradition that needs end. When these singers attempt to reach every note on the music scale it becomes a painful experience. Stop it now. Please.
-Stadium Private Seat Licenses. Paying for the right to pay for a seat. Brilliant.
-The BCS. ‘nuff said.
-Bowl games/teams. Too many bowl games. When a .500 team is in a bowl game, it’s past the point of having gotten out of hand.
-The intentional walk. Sure there might be an infinitesimal chance that a pitcher will make an errant throw during an intentional walk, but these games are wayyy too long already. Let the manager notify the umpire that they want to issue an intentional walk and then let it be done.
-Tattoos and hairstyles. I know , I know. Freedom of expression. *sigh*

An earlier post by Stylegal had an article concerning the heat that poor Rahm is receiving. According to an ABC News cameraman, Emanuel said that he is now getting death threats and that he is pissed at the networks.
http://www.abcnews.go.com/Blotter/ConductUnbecoming/sto
ry?id=6449745&page=1
Doesn't Rahm remember when he became so angry at a pollster that he sent them a dead fish?
http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,185696
5,00.html
Apparently a Democratic pollster who Rahm says turned disloyal during a Congressional race when Bill Clinton ran for his first bid for the Presidency was sent a dead fish wrapped in a newspaper. In Mafia lore, sending a dead fish to somebody means they "sleep with the fishes," that is to say they are marked for murder. The LA Times described Emanuel as "something of a Democratic political assassin" further noting that, "Emanuel has relentlessly attacked his foes and gone ruthlessly after anyone who stood in his way."
But now that the tables have turned and HE is the one allegedly being threatened, he is sending out the boo-hoos forgetting all his past dealings with folks. In other words, he can dish it out but he can't take it in return.
I believe that Rahm Emanuel likely took phone calls from Jesse Jackson, Sr. and may have had knowledge that he/they were trying to buy the seat from Blago. Even if Emanuel didn't participate in the illegal conspiracy, his failure to report it will force Obama to dump him, possibly before the Inauguration. When the dust settles, JJ Sr., JJ Jr., Rahm Emanuel, and possibly others will be ruined. Wire transcripts show Blagojevich's outrage learning that he would only receive Obama's appreciation stating, "that the President-elect wants Senate Candidate 1 for the Senate seat but 'they’re not willing to give me anything except appreciation. F**k them!"
It seems to me that for Blago to say that Obama was willing to offer nothing other than appreciation requires that he discussed the fact that he was looking for more concrete compensation. With this as a given there are four questions. (1) who in the Obama camp did he discuss this with (Rahm??) (2) Did that person convey the information to Obama (I must admit it is hard to imagine they would not. Sort of important info for Obama to know wouldn't you think), (3) does that person or Obama or anyone else party to the discussion have a legal or moral requirement to inform the authorities, and (4) did they do so.
We've been told that the upcoming Obama presidency will be a transparent one but it seems to me that Emanuel could very well jeopardize that right from the start with his continued silence. A simple request from Emanuel to release transcripts of any wiretapped conversations he had would go a long way in preserving the credibility of the Obama camp. Yet his continued silence is only raising more suspicion. We've already had Obama's man David Axelrod throw himself under the bus saying that he misspoke and was ".. mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the President-elect has spoken directly to Governor Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy."
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/12/questio
ns-arise.html
Inauguration day hasn't even come and already the scandals have begun.
Will we ever get a truthful answer? I doubt it.
Even with something as petty as the "smoking in the White House" issue, Obama can't come clean. Appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press" interviewer Tom Brokaw said he (Obama) had ducked answering the question during an interview last month with ABC's Barbara Walters. Noting that the White House was a no-smoking zone, Brokaw asked Obama, "Have you stopped smoking?" "I have." Obama, smiling broadly, replied, "What I said was that there are times where I have fallen off the wagon." "Wait a minute," Brokaw interjected, "that means you haven't stopped." "Fair enough," Obama said. "What I would say is that I have done a terrific job under the circumstances of making myself much healthier." Umm... that would mean "no, I have not stopped smoking".
I'd tell Rahm that I don't believe I'd start packing my bags for Washington just yet, but I do recall someone saying that if Emanuel had been on the Titanic, he would have been one to dress up like a woman to get an early spot on a lifeboat. Heh.

... as long as things go the way he wants them to go. We've seen it from him before with the 49ers and Eagles and now we are seeing it with the Cowboys. I seriously doubt that Jason Garrett changed his game plan for the game this past Sunday. Romo took what the 49er defense gave him and it happened to pay off in a big way for Owens. It's an easy thing to be smiling and happy when you're winning the game and having the kind of day Owens was having, but a person's true nature comes out when they are faced with adversity. Grumbling players abound in this and every league. Just yesterday we hear about the Tennessee Titan's Lindale White whining about playing time. Never mind that his team is 10-1 and is having the best year in a long time. It's all about ME.
Owens would do well to take the example of a certain receiver on a bad team. This receiver's team is languishing at 4-7 and will miss the playoffs once again. He is double teamed every game and his team's back-up quarterback has been playing for half the season. Despite all these things, he makes plays, he blocks and plays hard on every down. He has every reason to whine and take plays off but he doesn't. Who is this receiver I'm talking about? He is the Houston Texans' Andre Johnson. Johnson year in and year out puts up monster seasons (barring injury) although most NFL fans barely take notice of him. He does all this playing for an incompetent franchise and ZERO stability at the QB position. He's a class act playing for a terrible team who doesn't dump all over his teammates and coaches. Owens could learn from this guy.
As we've seen many times, Owens has crazy talent. We've also seen that he's a cancer that makes his teammates and coaches into nervous wrecks. What has happened since TO began sounding off? In the Redskins game the Cowboys offense was at its worst when it was forcing the ball into Owens and both of Romo's interceptions in the second half were balls thrown to Owens. Romo is a great QB with great weapons but when he feels he has to force the ball to one guy it throws a wrench into everything. A win is a win but the 49ers and upcoming Seahawks aren't going to be instilling fear into anyone. The last four games of the season will tell whether the sun is still shining and the birds are still singing.

Like this is news to anyone. Apparently the all Obama Network MSNBC retracted a story saying it was the victim of a hoax when it reported that an adviser to John McCain had identified himself as the source of an embarrassing story about former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081113/ap_en_tv/palin_hoax

Why is Governor Palin still in the news? Her ticket lost yet she still gets more press coverage that President-elect Obama! Some networks continue running stories and some bloggers (like our own neverGOP) still seem infatuated with her to the point of embarrassment. The liberal press wants to destroy her mainly because of her pro-life belief. Governor Palin rallied the conservative base, drew enormous crowds at her campaign stops and lit a fire that is sure to turn into an inferno. The fact that we are still talking about Sarah Palin proves that this wonderful, pro-life, pro-gun, true conservative (AND beautiful!) woman is still a force in America and will be for years to come. Sorry to disappoint you, former.

Watching the Lakers/Mavs game last night showed once again that it wasn't Avery. Sure a certain star player wasn't happy with him (even though the star player received his MVP while playing for Avery) but Avery was not the problem with the Mavericks. I'm not a Mavs fan but I was cheering them on against the hated Lakers last night. Bottom line is this Mavs team has no inside presence. No inside game. No true post up player. Dampier, Diop, Bass: are you kidding me? This team relies on jump shots and when they aren't going in, you get 27% shooting like last night. Cuban went out and got shooters (Stackhouse and George to name a couple) but never addressed the area needed to win. The fact is that no team will win a championship with just shooters. Cuban could have brought in Phil Jackson as coach and it wouldn't make a difference as long as this team is made up of just jump shooters.
Jermaine O'Neal was on the block. Pau Gasol was on the block. Kevin Garnett was on the block. Heck, Shaq was even on the block. Instead a trade was made for an aging point guard that has seen his best days go by him. Miami went and got Shaq and got themselves a championship. Boston went and got Garnett and got themselves a championship. Josh Howard would have been pretty attractive as trade bait for any of those players (packaged with others, of course) but his stock has dropped and is nowhere near what it once was. People would definitely give up Howard and a pick (and maybe a secondary player) for any of the above now. Cuban needs to let basketball people handle this team and make the decisions. If he doesn't, you'll continue seeing bad trades and bad signings year after year.
Avery deserves an apology.

The fear that our money isn't safe helped propel Obama in the polls, but now some voters are re-evaluating him because of this fear. Especially after his recent "spread the wealth" comments to Joe the Plumber and then in released audio tapes where he goes into more detail. People who were once sold on this "change" mantra are beginning to think differently and the polls every day are showing that. They wonder if Obama understands how fragile the economy is. The bottom line is this guy is still a mystery to many people. Even the liberal LA Times had a recent article by Peter Nicholas saying, "Those of us who were sent out to take [Obama's] measure in person can't offer much help in answering who he is, or if he is ready. The barriers set in place between us and him were just too great." The media has limited access to Obama. Now voters are growing uncertain about Obama and uncertainty generally leads to fear. This fear that people are feeling is causing people to reconsider their opinion about the once (according the the media) shoe-in candidate.
ABC and the Washington Post asked the question recently, "Do you think Obama is qualified to be President?" and the answer was 43% said "no". This is the second highest negative rating in modern presidential campaigns that is exceeded only by the rating given to Michael Dukakis given in late '88.
People are realizing now that this man, who had logged only 150 working days in the Senate before launching his Presidential campaign is just not ready to be Commander in Chief and leader of the free world. This man who voted "present" countless times to avoid leaving a voting trail he'd have to defend. This man with no foreign policy experience other than a visit overseas recently, is ready to lead our country? This man who said that Iran posed no threat to us? This man who chose Joe Biden, the so-called foreign policy expert who is anything but, as his VP nominee? This man who wants you to elect him so that he can have the government in charge of every aspect of your life?
Puliizer Prize winning Journalist Charles Krauthammer said it best when he asked who you would rather have answering the phone at 3 a.m.:
The case for McCain is straightforward. The financial crisis has made us forget, or just blindly deny, how dangerous the world out there is. We have a generations-long struggle with Islamic jihadism. An apocalyptic soon-to-be-nuclear Iran. A nuclear-armed Pakistan in danger of fragmentation. A rising Russia pushing the limits of revanchism. Plus the sure-to-come Falklands-like surprise popping out of nowhere.
Who do you want answering that phone at 3 a.m.? A man who's been cramming on these issues for the past year, who's never had to make an executive decision affecting so much as a city, let alone the world? A foreign policy novice instinctively inclined to the flabbiest, most vaporous multilateralism (e.g., the Berlin Wall came down because of "a world that stands as one"), and who refers to the most deliberate act of war since Pearl Harbor as "the tragedy of 9/11," a term more appropriate for a bus accident?
Or do you want a man who is the most prepared, most knowledgeable, most serious foreign policy thinker in the United States Senate? A man who not only has the best instincts but has the honor and the courage to, yes, put country first, as when he carried the lonely fight for the surge that turned Iraq from catastrophic defeat into achievable strategic victory?
There's just no comparison. Obama's own running mate warned this week that Obama's youth and inexperience will invite a crisis -- indeed a crisis "generated" precisely to test him. Can you be serious about national security and vote on Nov. 4 to invite that test?
And how will he pass it? Well, how has he fared on the only two significant foreign policy tests he has faced since he's been in the Senate? The first was the surge. Obama failed spectacularly. He not only opposed it. He tried to denigrate it, stop it and, finally, deny its success.
The second test was Georgia, to which Obama responded instinctively with evenhanded moral equivalence, urging restraint on both sides. McCain did not have to consult his advisers to instantly identify the aggressor.
Today's economic crisis, like every other in our history, will in time pass. But the barbarians will still be at the gates. Whom do you want on the parapet? I'm for the guy who can tell the lion from the lamb.

Seeing 49ers Head Coach Mike Singletary in his interview got me fired up and wishing that HE were running for President! He is from the old school of work hard, give everything you've got and leave nothing on the field. He wants players that want to win and want to give their all and be sold on a vision of winning. For far too long we've seen players that have that "me first" attitude in EVERY sport. They've put themselves and their interests ahead of the team. Winning or losing doesn't matter to them. What matters to them is the spotlight. We've all seen these clowns and yelled, "Shut up and play!"
Singletary is definitely a breath of fresh air. He basically wants 3 things from his players. Desire, dedication and discipline. As he stated, he'd rather have a team with less players than a full team with players that don't want to be there. I applaud his benching of his player. I wish other coaches and organizations would do the same. The Giants recently sat their star receiver for conduct detrimental to the team. More teams need to follow suit. It's time that players stopped being selfish and have that commitment to winning that Coach Singletary was talking about. Give me a coach like that any day.
