I understand that everyone has to go to work these days, however, why is it when traffic is slow on the interstate (40w) that people think if they take Summer Ave they will get to their destination quicker???? Well that's a load of bull! All they are doing is congesting traffic for people that ACTUALLY work on Summer. The major jam in the mornings is between Sycamore View and the overpass. There's not a lot of streets that you can turn down to avoid the backup so therefore a 15 minute commute winds up taking double the time cause EVERYONE seems to think it will be faster (even with all the lights) to get past what ever is slowing things down on the interstate. PEOPLE PLEASE!!!!! You won't get there any faster on Summer Ave! You are just slowing the process for EVERYONE down by jamming up the road!
Another problem down on Summer is right at Summer and Graham. There is a school there yes but the problem is people that want to coast in the turn area waaaaayyyyy down the road. It causes a lot of problems for people that NEED to turn. The people coming out of Grahamwood Elementary don't care who they pull out in front of nor do they care if you have been waiting on traffic to turn yourself. I think that if they continue to drop their kids off at the school they need to post a sign for NO LEFT TURN during school hours. It's a BIG headache.
I was coming back from Millington last night (13th) and as I was getting onto 385 from hwy 51 there was some dum-dum on a cycle (crotchrocket) behind me. He was following too close even for my comfort and I had thought about tapping my brakes to get him to fall back. Well I didn't and the idiot was "charging" at me and doing wheelies on my bumper! I was not only afraid that I would wreck but I was afraid for this guys safety as well! When he finally had the chance to dart around me he took off like a bat out of you know where and was gone. I figured he would be on down the highway with a terrible case of road rash or he would be dead!
I was driving the speed limit and never saw him again but when we got up past the Singleton Pkwy exit there were 2 unmarked police cars sitting in the median. Now I would think at this guys high rate of speed shirley these cops saw him. Obviously not they were too busy talking from car to car!
People even though you may know how to operate a motorcycle.....don't act so stupid on one and get yourselves killed. I could have easily put on my brakes and caused this guy or kid, which ever it was, to wreck and probably killed him!
TAKE CAUTION ON THE ROADS....THERE IS A LOT OF ROAD RAGE OUT THERE AND YOU COULD BE IT'S NEXT VICTIM! JUST BECAUSE YOU TRUST YOUR DRIVING DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU CAN TRUST THE OTHER DRIVERS!
