The term hero get's used a lot these day's . Some are more than worthy , some are not .

   Whats your idea of a hero ? What do you think it takes to be a hero ?

   Who has been a hero in your life ? This person may be family , friend , teacher , preacher , sports figure , politition , intertainer A person you knew , are someone you just heard about .

  Here's mine .

   My uncle Ralph . He took a wild eyed boy that was failing in school and in life . He taught me about life , what it takes to be a man . He also taught me the only true wealth a person  has , is his honor . Because of him I place God , Family and my country above all . I MISS HIM SO ..

  These are in no particular order . Harry S Truman , Ronald Reagen , Stan The Man , Lou Brock , Red Skelton , John Wayne . Margaret Thatcher  .

  Ever person that ever stood in harmsway . So my family and I  may live free and safe . God Bless all military , law inforcement  , firemen , health care workers and teachers .

I guess my hero was my sunday school teacher, that led me to the lord. Then my mother and father.

Cutter . . . Great Uncle Ralph was a good person. I remember a time when he and Aunt Pauline provided us protection, I also remember the goats milk they served at dinner (YUCKY). Rev. Leonard Davis, too, was a very good man. I cherish the memory well witching with him and how his patience was shared with a little girl who was forever curious.

My hero is very simple, my mom. She has taught me so much and I can share so easily with her. While we didn't always have what we do now, that is not her fault, but mine for being a bull-headed teen. But even then, her example of strength and courage served a lesson that I will forever cherish. Of course, those long lazy morning chats on the deck don't hurt either.

Oops . . . I forgot one more.

I remember when I was that bull-headed teen and would get upset at mom over what was really nothing that I would always find solace by visiting Great Aunt Eunice. I spent many nights with her playing Canasta, listening to her stories, and eating some of her delicious desserts. I remember when she moved back to St. Louis and I was able to go spend a few nights with her and take her to Bingo, what a great time we had.

My grandmother Iris was another. She taught me to give of myself to others without being asked.

My grandfather Rance taught me to enjoy the moment and appreciate what others give. There were many nights when I was in 3rd and 4th grade when I would go home with Carol and spend the night. Carol was teaching me to play the alto sax and it never failed that Grandpa would call me downstairs to play "Go Tell Aunt Rodie" for him, squeeking and squawking throughout, but to him it was a symphony.

LadyCardFan you have a wonderful mother . She has a heart of gold .When were young we all have a troubled stage in life . Most grow out of that , thank God .
Ralph was a good person . I owe him my life .There's not a day goes by that I don't think about him . I beleive he's my garden angel .
We are very lucky ,when it comes to family we came out alrite .

Rance was alrite , I always thought he was so cool . Eunice is in the nursing home at Greenville . She has good days and bad . But health wise she's doing ok .

I believe any man or woman that can learn to put someone or some worthy cause ahead of themself is a example of a hero. America has buried heroes since 1776 and they walk among us
daily ( OUR VETERANS ). People that work through the negatives in their life and become a success in the field of their choice is a hero.
and Cutter I'm betting that you are a hero to many !! GOD BLESS

She would love that . Her vision is very poor . You would make her very happy .

A hero is someone including animals who dies trying to go a very good deed like save a life. A hero is someone including animals who risk everything to help someone in need of help.
A hero is someone including animals who saves you.
My mom and dad are my heros.......

My hero Cutler ! Is my wife ! She is the first and she saved me from myself ! My father and most of his family have all been hero's in their own right ! Yet the real hero's are the founders of this country and all that have followed them who fought to keep theis country #1 !

We all take for granted the people in our lives. Let me share something with you. My Hero is my "Mom." My best friend and the one who was always there for me. She stood up for me even when I was wrong, she was proud of everything I did, and she loved me for me.

OOH! a great question.

My interpretation is, doing something extraordinary!

Who are my hero's are who do I look up too?
Lots of people I've came in contact with.
Teachers, a Catholic priest, my parents,
co- workers not necessary in that order. In my years of being on the FD I seen and witness lots of Hero's in both sense of my interpretation. Wow, the more I think about it, the one person who effected me more then any one was a African American male.
his name is really not that important. What he did in his life as a single father raising 3 kids by himself and they all have a degree.
he, himself didn’t finish grade school. I guess that may surprise some here? because of my hardness towards African Americans and their behavior that Some exhibit in our society.

I can understand the part about failing in school...

Apparently Uncle Ralph never fixed that part.
