The NRA is holding their 2007 convention in St, Louis Mo . Good news for the St, Louis economy   " RIGHT " ? Not if you listen to The St,Louis Cleargy Coalition .

The St,Louis Cleargy Coalition thought the NRA Convention was a prime time , To play  ( The Blame Game )

Everyone knows the violent crime rate in St, Louis is out of hand . Murder , Robber , Car Theift  rates are way up . But insead of looking from within for the reasons why . The Reverend B. T. Rice and the St, Louis Cleagy Coalition decided to play the now famous ( BLAME GAME )

Playing the Blame Game has few rules . You just blame everything on someone , anyone other than yourself . Sexual Predators claim they were molested as a child . Wife beaters claim , my father did it . And so the Reverend B.T.Rice claims the NRA is to blame for all St, Louis violent crimes .

Little are no parental controls , citizens refusing to support law inforcement . Police Chief Joe Mokwa said , " Its difficult to make an impact on crime  ". While there's so many preditors on probation . Its our judicial system thats letting us down . Judges and Prosecuters take the easy way of making deals . Instead of putting hard core criminals behind bars for the maximum sentance .

So what do you think ? Is B.T Rice and the St, Louis Clergy Coalition . Right ?

Are do you think their just playing the ( BLAME GAME )

I believe you are right and to go a step further , Rice is another one of those chicken littles of the world ! As long as his face along with Sarpton and Jackson are out there and the Media playing up that card they call news wil give them all the room they want to run and say "THE SKY IS FALLING" ! It is people like them that keep the chief and our boys in blue from doing their jobs ! The Liberials of the city will cry about injustice that is among their people and the ACLU will come in with their bull and the next thing you know everyone is wrong but the Rices , Sharptons,Jackson's and that racial ass from Temple University !

You guys have it so right!! As much as the black race would like us to beleive that they are a superior race the truth is that they cannot function without the help from the white race, ( Look at New Orleans ) I am not a racist, ( have been called one ) but the truth is the truth.

I think if we all had the right to carry a weapon the gang bangers would think twice before they try to rob or car jack someone. They would not know who was armed and ready to defend themselves.
Remember it is not Guns that kill People, People kill people.

So what's new? Its not like we haven't heard this all before. The solution is you have to become involved, not just voting in the booth, but stop voting with your feet. the people that cause these problems get a toe head in a area and run Law abiding citizen out.
What are you afraid of? Can't you look or say to another your wrong in your behavior? Is it Racial? Minorities are those in the city and many of the cities that ring the city, that cause the crime. Read the journals on line at their0 crime reports section. The post only prints sensational stories, and many times leave out the description of the person who commits the crime. We all know why they do it.
What I would to see is someone get right in the face of the Rices of this city and tell them to start preaching to those in their community that its wrong to father children out of wedlock, its wrong to leave that child to be raised by one parent. Both white and Black people. It wrong to believe that going to school is a white thang! Its wrong to think that people that are white owes you a living or free housing, free medical because your Black.

Be safe

Didn't someone get killed during a hijacking in south st.louis this weekend? had the person been armed would it have made a difference? hard to say, but i bet the perp would have thought twice if he thought the guy had been armed
One of the problems is that we live here with blinders on, this very same thing is happening in every city in AMERICA that has a large black or hispanic population. Have someone you know in another city e-mail you some of their local news stories, then compare, Big problem you bet

Everyone knows that any object cannot kill someone or cause any harm unless being powered by a human using it as a tool.

Wimps and whiners kill and blame guns. However they could use knives, rocks or cars.

Since many cars sometimes are used for crime, should we stop selling cars.
These are just excuses for poor parenting.

Its in our constitution...The Right to Bear Arms...

I am not currently up on a lot of this stuff, but it seems to me that if guns are outlawed, the only people who would be without them, is the law-abiding sector...criminals will always find a way to stay armed...

We own several firearms, and I have taken courses in safety..I would not like to think that I could not protect myself in case of a home invasion..

After thought: Switzerland has no crime, and everybody has a gun.

But, if someone does commit a crime, the punishment is one that works.

Now I get to go off the deep end. Did you know that the Clintons beleive the constitution is a living document to be intupreted as needed at any particular time. How about this senario, Clinton gets elected, she appoints her liar husband to the UN and then the UN takes our guns away because our consitution is a living document.

well in my opinion i think all if all the good honest citizens were armed .Tis would cut down on some of the crime .. Culd you imagine the surprise of the criminal facing down a gun barrel himself trying to commit a crime ..

I don't want to own a gun. Guns scare me. It's all the criminals who get possession of guns who use them to kill innocent people. Of course there are other ways to kill people, but most often a gun is used, IMO. I don't understand how so many low lifes get hold of guns. These are the people who don't register to carry guns and use them to rob, steal and kill innocent people.

If perps were kept behind bars for the maximum sentence we wouldn't have them running loose on the streets to commit (the same) crimes over and over again. I think our judicial system needs revamping.

The thing to remember is there is an illegal gun trade and a legal gun trade. The criminals do not go the legal route to get their weapons.

I don't like guns and I don't think we need to be the "old west" either, but I think that the NRA supports things that are just down right stupid. Who uses an AK47 to deer hunt? There needs to be strict limits on legal firearms, including the type of gun sold to the public. Singleshot pistols and rifles are okay, they are used for BLEEP shooting, target practice, and hunting--deer, turkey, squirrel, rabbit.

We need to support the ability to own such weapons, but not the automatic weapons that are being sold. No one has a need for these unless you are serving in the military, even the police do not need such weapons.

The NRA has a point, but some of them are just wrong.

I dont beleive anyone needs to have assault rifles. . i have a few automatic firarms for hunting but nothing that is capable of shooting 50 rounds who needs that except the military . If you cant hit something with a COUPLE OF ROUNDS GO HOME !!

LadyCardFan,

Just to let you know all the AK-47's that are availible for citizens to legally own are semi automatic. this means it only fires one round each time you pull the trigger. the round it uses is a 7.62 x 39 round. this round is a excellent deer hunting round, can also be used to hunt smaller game and varmits like coyotes. the SKS also uses the same round. I own a SKS and love it. None of these guns can be purchased in full auto unless you have a federal class three firearms lic. these are very hard and expensive to get. Not many people have them for this reason.

SO full auto firearms are strictly regulated.

Otherwise a AK-47 is no more dangerous than a semi automatic 12GA shotgun.

I wish people that want to limit what kind of guns can be owned would educate themselfs before trying to take away my rights.

ok since you put it that way .. I agree anytime someone is trying to limit my rights i am to against it .. I dont want the government moving in on my rights either. it does seem that the more they take away from us the more they try to take away . If you give the liberals an inch they will take a mile and we'll will end up sitting in our homes unarmed and totally sheltered by the government but unprotected ungainst the criminals ...

LadyCardFan,

oh BTW you cannot use a single shot shotgun to shoot BLEEP, you need at least a double barrel, or a pump, or semi auto shotgun to shot BLEEP as you have to fire at two different clay birds that both fly at same time.

Limiting a gun to single shots also does nothing for home defense. what if you miss the guy killing your family with the first shot? you think he will give you time to reload????

You're right, ladycardfan, the constitution was written at a time when assault rifles and automatic weapons didn't exist. The whole point of giving ourselves the right to bear arms is so that we can defend ourselves. Whether it's a prowler or a band of terrorists, I'd feel much more secure knowing that it's not just the enemy who is properly armed.
And taking away guns doesn't take away crime. Even if we cast some magic spell to make every gun disappear forever (along with the knowledge of how to make them), the bad guys would just use whatever weapon they had. Do you think the Roman empire was built on the army stopping by and saying, "Hey, do you mind if we peacefully take over your country? Gee, thanks."

Now you got it.

the thing we have to educate the non shooters of america about is the difference between automatic and semi automatic.

Thanks for your valid points..I totally agree with education on purchasing, handling, and the differences of firearms..

I live in the country and have had numerous occassions to use mine against various varmints.

Rocks just don't work well on coyotes, and other animals trying to raid the chicken coop, or get the kitties, and doggies..

Ever face a really mad coon or possum..?? Peaches, the boxer, has several scars from dealing with these..

To quote an ever popular bumper sticker.."They can take my gun, when they pry it from my cold dead hands" or something like that..

My grandsons will be educated in the proper usage and handling of firearms when the time comes..All mine are always under lock and key, and I have trigger guards for each..
