Southern Rock is loaded with great talent . What I like about is the blend . It includes all forms of music . Rock , country , blues , jazz , classic and gospel .
Its very hard to pick a favorite . I just through out some names that have special meaning to me .

Not to be a smartass, but the Eagles, Doobie Brothers, and Little Feat were all from California.

My favorite Southern rock band would probably be Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

_007, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are another great band, I agree with you there, and he is from Florida. I was just thinking about the southern music sound, not necessarily where the band originated. :) (Just my opinion!)

How about Jerry Lee Lewis, who could forget the KILLER?
I have to say The Allman Brothers, live at the Fillmore, has got to be one of the best. Tied to the whippin post was the whole side of the album.

A side note to Southern Rock music .
I still scrach my head everytime I think about Dicky Betts getting fired . Talk about a serious drug problem . When a person gets fired from the ( Allman Brothers Band ) , for doing too many drugs ?

Way to many favorites to mention, but the top of list had to Skynard, Eagles, CCR, Charlie Daniels and 38 Special. This is great I love Southern Rock we need to keep this music going....
