During the 2004 election, Michael Moore, a famous filmmaker, went to two universities, UW-Madison and UW-Green Bay to encourage students to vote. Here is the video of Moore in Wisconsin (Warning: Minor foul language)

Kerry eventually won Wisconsin in the election.

Believe it or not, this offer was real. It was an ad campaign that was run last year aimed at the rich. Billionares who possessed a BIN (Billionare Identification Number) could go to http://www.privateislandoffer.com and apply to get a Blackberry and a private island for $10.5 million.

If you had the money, would you have taken this offer? If you have the money to buy this offer, are you thinking "Why didn't I know about this earlier?" And also, for everyone, what are your general opinions about this 2007 ad campaign?

I found two FOX6 bloopers on YouTube. Take a look at these:

You have to look near the end, at 00:26, where the white text comes up. You should see "We just got f*cked"

Immigration is a big issue these days, especially with the 2008 political candidates. What do I think should be done about immigration? I think there needs to be a very high fence covering the ENTIRE US-Mexico border. One where people cannot climb over it, dig under it, or in any other way get through. What I don't understand is why Mexicans even cross the border illegally. The process to become a legal American citizen is easy! You fill out some paperwork at the immigration office, pay a small fee, take a test, and if you pass, then you're a legal US citizen. And the questions on the test are easy. Here are some at http://usgovinfo.about.com/library/blinstst_new.htm.a> There are also some new questions I heard are being added, based on recent US events. I made this question up, but something like it is probably on the test.

What happened on September 11, 2001?
A) President George Bush was assassinated
B) Two hijacked places destroyed the two towers of the World Trade Center
C) We declared war
D) Nothing significant

So you see, it's simple to become a US citizen. I don't understand why people come here illegally, if they can easily become legal citizens.

" MILWAUKEE - Pridefest organizers may get more diversity this year than they bargained for.

The Nationalist Socialist Movement, or neo-Nazis, plans to protest the gay pride festival this Saturday.

But the neo-Nazi group's leader say the protest will look a lot different than a 2006 party rally in Madison.

"What they're going to see is a non-uniform event. No violence, no cursing. I laid down the law on that one, and I think we should have a good event," said NSM leader Randy Borreman.

The protest will no doubt include a lot of anti-gay rhetoric.

"Anything in that realm is absurd, but it goes to prove that our community has come a long way, being part of everyday society, and the fringes are angry at that so they're lashing out," said Pridefest President Scott Gunkel.

The plan is to contain the protesters to a stretch of pavement right outside the festival's front gates on the Summerfest grounds. Pridefest organizers do not know how many protestors will show up, but they say they will be ready for anything."

I wonder if it will work out. I did some research after reading this story, and I was eventually led to the official website of the National Socialist Party. There, I found the official flyer for the anti-Pridefest protest, or as the NSM calls it "Fagfest"

Here is what the flyer says:

"On Saturday, June 07th, 2008 join us in defending our town against this
homosexual filth. Stand with proud members of the community and the
National Socialist Movement in telling our city that we will NOT accept this
disgusting and unnatural promotion for our children to witness. Whether
you love us or hate us, WE are the ones who care about our society and wish
to rid it of this type of unacceptable behavior. So take a stand and join us at
the gates of Summerfest and tell them “Not In Our Town!”

There is also information on where to meet, and who to contact. I will not post that information, but you can find it simply by typing in "Pridefest Protest" in a Google search.

I know that there be extra security at Pridefest because of this. After all, the organizer said they will be ready for anything.

We'll just see how it goes. I hope this protest is peaceful, and no one gets hurt, whether it's a homosexual, police officer, or protester.

I was a good friend of Petkovich's, and I was at that funeral last Thursday. It was very nice, and was the most elaborate funeral I attended.

Immediately after Petkovich passed away, the Racine County Sheriff's Department sent out a teletype statewide to all law enforcement agencies, alerting them of Petkovich's death.

What departments are supposed to do with these is make copies of the teletype, and distribute them to the officer's of the department, in case a few officers want to attend the funeral.

And a lot of officers responded to the teletype. Officers from as far away as Green Bay and La Crosse came to Racine to mourn the death of Petkovich.

When the Milwaukee Police Department received the teletype, they didn't distribute it. Instead, it went right into the garbage.

But some officers in the department had heard about the death and funeral from Petkovich's son Jovan, who is an officer in District 7.

There were some officers in Milwaukee who wanted to attend the funeral. They wanted to wear their uniforms to the funeral, and take a squad car to drive in the precession, which contained about 20 squad cars.

In order to do both, they had to get permission from Dale T. Shunk, Milwaukee's Assistant Chief of Police. The only guy above him is Ed Flynn.

When the officers asked for permission, Assistant Chief Shunk denied it. They could not take a squad car to use in the precession, and they could not wear their uniforms to the funeral of a well-respected law enforcement official.

Dale Shunk eventually gave permisssion for the officers to wear their uniforms to the funeral, after the officers asked for permission a second time, but they still had to take their personal vehicles to the funeral.

So, basically, Dale T. Shunk denied permission for a few officers in the department to properly honor a fallen officer.

New Milwaukee Police Car

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
"In the early 1960s, Henry Maier was Milwaukee's mayor, The Marvelettes sang "Please Mr. Postman" to No. 1 in the U.S. and culottes became a fashion rage.

It was also the last time Milwaukee residents might remember seeing black-and-white police squad cars on city streets.

More than 40 years later, Police Chief Edward Flynn is bringing back the classic look, starting with 54 recently purchased white cars that will be painted black in the front and rear before they're sent on patrol.

"When you're moving assertively on many fronts in terms of organizational change and crime fighting strategies, it's not a bad thing to have a little fun," Flynn said Friday. "The cruisers will be rolling out, and they're going to roll out with a different look."

Black-and-white cars were part of the Milwaukee police fleet from the late 1950s until about 1964, when the department went with all white Plymouths, according to Lt. Steve Basting, vice president of the Milwaukee Police Historical Society. Flynn said the familiar blue stripe was added in the early 1980s.

"It will be outstanding," Basting said of the new, yet traditional, look. He said plans include using a graphic on the doors of the department's badge with a star in the center and 1855, the year of the department's founding.

A prototype Ford Crown Victoria, the standard marked police car, has been on display inside the Police Administration Building downtown this week for officers' review.

Flynn said the reaction has been good so far and plans are to paint the new patrol cars partially black at a cost of $300 each. The existing fleet will not be repainted. Going forward, cars will be ordered in black and white, according to department officials.

Milwaukee joins numerous other departments across the country in adopting the retro color schemes for patrol cars."

What do you think? I think the new cars are actually pretty cool. They will look tougher than the old white and blue cars.

There is a late-show on Cartoon Network called Robot Chicken. It's a show that uses dolls and animation combined to do cartoons and parodies.

One of the parodies they did was of "My Little Pony" called "Apolcalypse Pony".

You can watch this cartoon at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xL5WcJFHfV4

So here's a question for you. Do you think this insults Christians?

I've been hearing a lot of things lately on this story of the Hmong man who is claiming that a police officer beat him, and he was not resisting arrest, like the officer claimed. Here are somr of the things the Hmong man and his attorney are saying about this case, and my responses to him.

He wasn't resisting arrest

According to the police reports, he was. And he also has two eye-witnesses backing him. If you heard the 911 calls, you can clearly see that the Hmong man was trying to drive off with the officer still on his car.

He couldn't speak English

Still, you see a man, with a silver badge, and police insignia on his uniform, getting out of a car with flashing red and blue lights, and a lot of decals, who is he supposed to be? A robber?

The way the officer took the man down was brutal

The officer was trying to save his own life! He had to somehow physically stop him. And he did. If the guy would've been pepper-sprayed, he would probably still have the foot on the gas pedal, with the risk of him losing his life.

Ed Flynn is a "dictator like' police chief

No he's not, he's just a police chief that's standing up for one of his men, and defending him, like a good police chief should do. Ed Flynn says there is a lot of evidence, including those 911 calls, to conclude that the Hmong man was putting the officer's life in danger.

OK, so here's my question. If the security guard has to notify a certain supervisor that a shoplifting is taking place instead of trying to apprehend the 16 year old in the act like he did, then what's the use of having him there in the first place? Shoplifting is the most common crime that happens at commerial stores like Target or Wal-Mart, and that's what I thought the security guards were there for. At Wal-Mart, they rely on employees to apprehend shoplifters, they don't even have security guards, unless you count the one in Franklin that has a police substation in it. But of course, Wal-Mart's shoplifting policy is that if you steal an item from them for the first time, and the item is below $20, the police are not called, and you are set free.

I think that Target security guard did what was right, and what his job description says. He stopped the teenage booze theif, and called her parents. And she probably got a BIG punishment when she got home, and a lesson she will never forget.

Target should change their policies so that security guards can apprehend people without a supervisor's permission. Sign it today at http://cachtsp.epetitions.net/

So I am calling on all of you in the online community to sign this petition calling for a change in Target's security policies.

Well, he's retired. He announced it with a phone call to an ESPN reporter, and following that, had a tearful news conference. After 17 seasons, he's putting up the #4 jersey. But for the day he retired and the day after, I had one question in my mind.

COULDN'T THE NEWS REPORT OTHER STORIES TOO?
I sat there waiting to see if another story was going to air, but it didn't. Yes, I know Brett Favre retired, now can I see some other news? I understand he was a football legend, but I think the media reported it a little too much. All I saw on the news was "Brett Favre Retires!", the weather and nothing else. Oh well, at least I got my 6-Day Forecast.

Anyway, I think there's another reason why he retired besides "being tired". I think it was because he threw that interception at the NFC Championship that cost the Packers the game. Even though it may have not been intentional, I still think he is feeling really guilty about it.

I am slightly saddened to see Brett retire, but you know, I think everyone knew it was coming. Brett's gone, now its time to give Aaron Rodgers a try.

The computer layaway company BlueHippo has been popular lately, both with media investigations and with its new advertising campaign.

Before you read any further, you will need to watch Katrina Cravy's fabulous investigation on BlueHippo at http://www.myfoxmilwaukee.com/myfox/pages/ContentDetai
l?contentId=2570165
because I will make references to it in this story, and so you can learn more about the company and what it does.

Are you done watching it? OK, here are other reasons NOT to use BlueHippo.

1. Maddie McFarlene (Sorry if I spelled it incorrectly) isn't the only victim of BlueHippo's scam.

If you look at BlueHippo's record on the BBB and on ConsumerAffairs.com, you will see that there are thousands of complaints against the company, many like Maddie McFarlene's.

2. #6 on the "Top Scams of 2007" list.

No explanation needed.

3. The computers they offer are junk...

The computers they offer are very basic. They are fine for someone who just uses it for email and internet purposes, but for someone who runs advanced business applications like Microsoft Office or someone who plays a lot of the latest games, the computers BlueHippo cannot handle them.

4. not to mention expensive.

They may seem cheap at first, but in the long run, you will end up paying twice or even three times the amount for the computer than just going out to the store and buying one brand new. The one big sign of a genuine ripoff.

5. There are other ways to get a computer at a low budget.

Anthony Salamone of NJ.com has a great alternative to BlueHippo (near the bottom, under "What others can do") http://www.nj.com/columns/expresstimes/salamone/index.s
