Simple question. Are you a Democrat or a Republican?

I know some like me are Independant.

Why do you associate with a particular party?

Lets hear it.

Been registered NPA (independent) since voting for Nixon.......haven't missed voting in a ntional election since, and haven't missed a local race, including primaries (yes, NPAs have ballot questions in primaries sometimes) since 1989. Mostly (obviously) I have voted pretty much conservative, although did work on a couple of campaigns for honest liberals (rare) a few years back.

Don't associate with either Dem or Rep parties, both are way too liberal/socialist.

I am NOT a Republican..I am a Conservative who is a member of the Republican Party..I AM a member MERELY because ONE..the Republican Party more closely though NOT precisely represents MY Core Values such as Love of Country,, an adherence to traditional MORAL Values and a SENSE of Patriotism and TWO,, though THIS may CHANGE in the Future,,for NOW there are ONLY two VIABLE Parties with a realistic chance of Running this Country..

And when I say Patriotism,,I do NOT mean the redefined Patriotism that stipulates that the ONLY real Patriotism is to HATE your OWN country..THAT is why I am NOT a DEMOCRAT…

And I DON’T mean the BLIND Patriotism that REFUSES to admit the Problems,, Historically,, in the Present and in the Future that THIS country MUST continue to address.. No,,MY brand of Patriotism is one that RECOGNIZES these Problems and BELIEVES with EVERY fiber of My being that part of America's GREATNESS isn’t so much in the IMPOSSIBILITY of Perfection but in the striving FOR Perfection..

It is THIS that places OUR country far ABOVE the REST..

Now ..THESE traits can be found in some Independent parties ALSO,, SOME even CLOSER to MY way of thinking then the Republican Party but THEN we STILL have no. 2 in my reasoning..

Should there EVER be an Independent Party that has the Platform AND the Organization to mount a REAL Threat to the two Dominant Parties I will Certainly give them MY consideration..

The wife and I had been independent for many years but recently registered republican so that we could vote in the primaries. However, that does not mean that we vote straight down party lines. We both do our homework and make an educated decision and vote for the candidate that makes the most sense and in our eyes is the best for the job.

Independent, because I don't like either major party.

No label for me other than “Patriot”. Just want a Strong Military, Strong Domestic Industries (i.e. Our Standard of Living Makers) and a Govt. that does all they can to support them (rather than helping Japan's by taxing them MORE), a Govt. that expects the people to be responsible for themselves if capable but provides the tools and structure in which we are free to open our school books and study as hard as we choose thereby lifting OURSELVES and our NATION as high as our own efforts take us – we EARN our rewards without limit, a CLEAN Environment without cancer-causing chemicals filling the air and water, and Energy Independence (something I’ve been talking about LONG before it became a catch phrase).

One MOOOORE thing. I’m not in favor of a Communist Share-the-Wealth society, but I AM in favor of a Share-the-Babe society. It would be understood to HotLicious Babes like Jaqueline London (CH 6 News) and Debra LeFavre, that they shall be shared by the Populace. So I guess you could call me a “Hot BabeLican” ( easy now, no OTHER names please! ).

Like, Hawk, I am a member of the Republican Party, (boy I will be glad when the election is over so they stop sending me all those letters asking for more money) but I have libertarian views. I believe in strict interpretation of the Constitution and I don't think either of the parties are living up to the principles this Country was founded upon. We have strayed way too far and I don't know if it will sustain a true democracy because of it.

Like my late Father I'm registered as an Independent. And as he used to say "Im registered thus so I can hate both parties with a clear conscience" Seriously though I believe a good idea can come from anywhere, from anybody. So I seldom vote a straight ticket unless Ideem it nessessary. And because as I read the Constituation the prime responsibilty of the federal govt. is to "provide for the common defense" so I tend to vote for the consevative as far as the excutive branch goes.

So by your suggestions here KISSHANK . . . . . DEMOCRATS slowly kill OUR Industry (TAX & SHRINK OUR OWN while Japan is SUPPORTING & GROWING THEIR OWN), to provide Hand-Outs to those who choose not to contribute to our Nation’s Strength, Well-Being, and Future.

Then when our Industry shrinks and/or DIES, we end up with MORE people dependent upon Hand-Outs, and LESS Money to hand-out; Our Standard-of-Living DROPS. It feeds off of itself, continuing that way, getting Worse & Worse for More & More people as Jobs disappear and we eventually end up in a PERMANENT RECESSION / DEPRESSION with Poor Quality Under-funded Socialized Govt. Services and NO WAY OUT - INDUSTRY GONE (like MANY European Nations – some that went down that path, others that never developed Industries like ours), OR WORSE, we could end up standing in line every day for daily rations of food and live in overcrowded Govt. Housing (also like many European Nations).

THANKS  -- KISSHANK --  FOR REMINDING ME WHY I NEED TO VOTE SO THAT THE DEMOCRATS NEVER HAVE CONGRESS --AND-- THE PRESIDENCY. ANOTHER REASON I’LL VOTE McCAIN.

I am registerd NPA but lean toward the Republican side more so than Denocrat. I do my homework and NEVER go at face value with what the candidates are telling me what they will do for the country.
Besides, what can they do? Congress/Senate has a larger part in my opinion.

Kinda like Hawkeye, I am a conservative, but don't pledge allegiance to any political party.

I place my country ahead of any political party when it comes to voting.

Republican. I have this silly idea that what I work for, what each of us works for...well, we should be entitled to keep a greater portion of it, minus reasonable expenses to keep our nation solid. The democrats, while many are educated, haven't the "long range," sight to see what's actually good for the country, economy or future of the nation. their mantra is to make minorities and underpriviliged people slaves to their programs; through just enough entitlements to keep them poor with no way out...it justifies their existence in Washington; the true racists are the democrats...what' ahoot is the higher majority are black, and preying on their own race....
