The Brass Monkey and Lyin Ryan Crock-r-shiite took to the hill
to spin more yarn about our empire-building in Iraq.

Photobucket

Remember that old Thin Lizzy tune???

Guess who went in front of Congress today?
Those two-faced boys that had been away
Haven't changed much of what they say
like man, those cats are crazy

They were being asked to expound
How Iraq was, whether WMDs could be found
They told us it were safe, living downtown
dodgin all those mortars in the green zone town

The brass are back in town,
the brass are back in town

You know that schtick about success
Spewing lies for the corporate press
Man when I tell you they was cool, they was red hot
I mean tellin lies as truth-they was a spinnin'

That day on Capitol Hill, on cspan as the pundits began to grill
Well this congress chick got up and she yelled in Patraeus' face
Man the media all went to commercial break
If the media don't want us to know, we'll forget her

Tuesday morn they'll be dressed to kill
duded up with their suits, shiny stars and frill
The lies will flow about the blood they spill
Cuz these boys want to fight, and congress' gonna let em

The brass are back in town, the brass are back in town

They'll tell us the surge, it worked great-
ignore the mortar fire blowin up all over the place
Increase our troop strength, it won't be long
It won't be long till they'll do the same in Iran
Now that the Brass is here again

The brass are back in town.
their lies, the media expounds
Will justice ever be found?

the brass is back
                               ..... the brass is back

And you 'somehow' know different???

Obviously, you know lyrics better than current events.

Well, if you look at the facts, not the opinions, yes, I and 187 other countires, and 80% of America does know different.

20% of Iraq's population is displaced in neighboring countries.
upwards of 2 million citizens have died.
electricity and basic sanitation is a rare commodity to Iraqi Citizens

the puppet government we set up in the green zone barely controls the streets around its office.

The violence has only subsided because we paid off AlSadr.. and now the money's run dry..
the Iraqi prisons are more crowded and inhumane than when Saddam ran them
The Splurge costs us $300 million per day
and the general and his side-kick could give no end or budget or framework at all to Congress...

you tell me.... is that success?

80%!!!! ...what you been smokin' man??? ...in the 187 countries crapola you note, is it that these all are developed nations of sophisticated culture or a significant collection of undeveloped nations that hardly bring a blip to radar screen? I venture to suspect even your number of 187 was the result of a flip of the coin ...wouldn't you agree "colby" what's needed is another Sadam Hussein and family to bring the good citizens of Iraq together and into line ?

...go vote for your feely good Obama at election time and we'll see how it plays out ...

Guys..I've said this all along...no one "liked" the tyrant, Saddam Hussein, however he held that multi-tribe mess in Iraq together with terror. It worked. We stuck our nose in, took over that country without Caring one whit about the fallout. Our own advisors told the whitehouse NOT to invade that country because of the multi-tribe/cultural mess that will be left warring against each other, and open the door for Iran's muslim takeover. This country KNEW BETTER, BUT DID IT ANYWAY. Our scumbag "leaders" have killed 4,000 young men and women and have drained our treasury and are deeply in debt to China FOR NOTHING. Smart military men go to war only when necessary..with an entrance strategy and an exit strategy. WE DID NOT DO THAT...and any way you look at it...we are just plain idiots.

...so it isn't gonna be disappointing if it reverts to the former Iraq without working harder to create the opportunity for Iraqis attempt to have a different life style take hold??? ...how clearly you see issues and we're askin' your pardon of others of us don't see ...how silly to take what we've got and workin' with it to get in the direction we had to begin with...would Saddam have had WMDs, which we know now isn't the case, we'd still have the chore we're engaged in now ...but I see your point, p=iss on the mess, let's go home homer...shows what approach some can only see to apply when things don't turn out the way you expected...

...there's little difference I've found in both military strategy and construction engineering-contracting ...you expect and plan around what you can find about existing conditions but be expectant it won't turn out like it looks on paper ...in varying degrees it won't!

...so there's no decision you see at this juncture other than just packin’ bags and beatin’ a hasty exit???? …better share your plan of how that will be accomplished before 2010...that’ll be the next thing you’ll be p=issing and moanin’ about …I beg you, in all your infinite wisdom on withdrawal strategy, help them get it right before you suffer another disappointment…

How can anyone say that Saddam Hussein's rule of terror "worked"? AveMaria, ask the Kurds and the Marsh Arabs if it worked for them.

If the Demcratic Party was in control, we would not be in this mess:

Obviously, none of you has any clue of events older than 6-7 years. This is why I just don't want to post here anymore. You don't know the connections between events, and have no clue about pretty much everything older than 7 years.

Proof of the dumbing down of America. Got a substantial amount of morons to think Nobama would be a good president.

I'm game, what happened before 2001-2 ?

What connections do you have that are so obvious to you that you can say such blanket statements?

Heck, no skin off my teeth if you leave, but the fact you had to tell us you were going... makes me think you still got something to say.

Um..... The UN... Ever heard of it??

Does #1049 mean anything to you?

Kuwait???

DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH.

Y3Y3..Sweets, I can't get too excited about Kuwait. We ALL know Saddam approached the Ambassador and ASKED how the U.S. would react if he "took back" the land that was Iraq's land, i.e. Kuwait. Madam Ambassador said, "We'd do nothing.. it is not our business." Whereupon Saddam and his best rolled into Kuwait. THEN....the whitehouse did a double-take and and "Oh spit!"....thus began Operation Desert Storm.

Grandma...The Kurds and Marsh Arabs be-danged. How many of them are involved in the new military and police forces in Iraq? My son, who is 20, is worth more to me than the whole country of Iraq. If you knew the history of that country you would understand what I am saying. Saddam's dad and other past leaders were always being killed by one of the many muslim sects in that country...that is something americans cannot understand...Iraq is NOT the U.S. and its many sects are so complex that they cannot get along with even each other. We have no business in Iraq...and I still believe we "tinkered" with a country whose multi-tribed society that was "fine tuned." I've heard figure like 250,000 Iraqis dead due to the "war." Add 4,000 americans... well, no, it's not worth it.

yes y3... I've heard of the UN.... have you heard the truth of how the US has undermined the usefulness and function of the UN since its creation... and how they torpedoed the League of Nations before that? Do you have any idea the reality of how we use our majority security partnership power to not only override any discussions that run counter to our corporate interests... but even have the records wiped clean as if the discussions never occurred?

1049... the Burundi Genocide resolution of 1996? no I don't know what that has to do with things?

Kuwait... Do you mean Iraq's invasion of Kuwait... and the response of the UN with 660?

Hussein notified Bush41 of his intention to secure interests in Kuwait with use of military force... exactly what Bush43 just did... and you have a problem with what?? the fact that we did nothing to discourage him and used it as an excuse to invade? Or that his son violated the UN by doing the same thing?

And tell me- how do you defend John -I hate the UN- Bolton being allowed to strongarm the UN over the objections not only of the UN, but also Congress and the American people?

Yes- do tell!

I'm a concerned citizen who is worried that this administration is finalizing plans to overthrow the way our nation has run for more than two centuries. They plan to serve a NEW citizenry... the corporate citizen. And we the people... unless we're part of the aristocracy, will no longer have rights, only priviledges. Like in most of the third world, but better. I'm trying to wake folks up. Take back the government and hog-tie these corporations... but have we a chance?
