Happy Flag Day... this flag is overturned to indicate that a base of operation is under seige.
Our nation is under seige... this corrupt administration and their elitist cronies who hide behind multi-national corporations have stolen our nation and may soon destroy our liberty, justice and freedoms... making them Privileges - not rights.

what are you going to do about it?

Colby..as much as I believe our government is corrupt I would NEVER disrespect the flag.
NEVER.
It stands for how great our country truly is and what we truly stand for.

Mr. Colbydog: You are a broken record.

It might serve you well to instead of just always saying the same old thing, just once, provide some documentation and/or factual justification for your views.

Instead of "reading between the lines" try first to "read the lines".

You can burn the flag of this nation anytime you want. You are free to do so as it is protected speech in this land run by a fascist dictator and multi-national corporations.......is that how you will celebrate the 4th?

Just trying to read between the lines.

there's no disrespect here... the overturned flag is military protocol... the statements between the lines are truths to me and millions of others... if someone finds that offensive, perhaps they place too much importance on symbolism rather than action and deed... materialism rather than truth and ethics... wanna get angry?

who took us to war on lies and deception?
who's policy has bankrupted our nation in less than a decade!
who's showering their rich elitist friends with huge tax breaks and billions in government contracts? Who has denied global warming and bribed officials, censored reports and profited billions by tax breaks and government contracts? Who wants to give the airwaves and internet to five multinational corporations along with immunity from prosecution and gov funding to create the technology? watch the video...

dose, you wouldn't know truth if it bit you in the nose. LOL. five days www.democracynow.org tell us how its false or misleading... your words. Easier to trash talk that speak up?

Just in the several days I participated in the Democracynow.org challenge, I saw a video were a journalist made some pretty strong statements something along the lines of:

Isreal is a terror state, and it should something that there are more Lebanese civilians killed than Isreali civilians killed .

This no doubt the the product of the fact that that Hamas doesn't exactly dress uncivilian like. The point/question was never raised, or the fact that it is Hamas that lobs rockets blindly into Isreal.

Another Democracynow.org story was about the "scandal" of the firing of less than a dozed US attorneys. One of them has a book out and the whole interview was no different than you see on the "Today" show when someone is peddling a book, including Scott McCellan.

I a little research into the situation, it turns out that via a Supreme Court ruling, the Executive branch has the authority to do what it did. Period. Story should go away. Was this ever pointed out??????

I respect your passion and your right to argue your position. Nonethless, a fact is by definition: "A fact is a thing that is known to have occurred, to exist, or to be true." (Source: The Oxford American Dictionary of Current English in English

You called my points "superflous details" and I didn't merit additional postings on your blog.

That is a fact.

I deal with facts and critically evaluate theories. You take theories and accept them as fact.

That is the difference between us.

Home of the free because of the brave. Thats why knuckleheads like you can make such statements and post such pictures.

Thank a vet - they sacrificed so you can speak freely, even though most times, in my opinion, your way out of line.

Dose as usual shares opinions about everything, except they come right off right wing radio- btw facts prove deaths and casualty proportions of israeli people to lebanese and palestinians ARE waaayyy out of line for such aparthied-like murderous conduct as the Likud party (with as much public support as Bush) continues to dole out! By any human rights standard Israel behaves like a terror state, but the so do we.

I guess our economic/political/psychological expert Dose, who graduated suma cum laude from the college of talk radio, will have to take a few post graduate courses when the ONGOING investigations lead to trials. btw what did you consult as a basis for your executive branch discovery? Fox Television's Karl Rove?

a fact does not occur because mark belling or rush limbaugh say it on the radio... facts are public record. And these days, facts have a funny way of getting covered up, disappear or brushed aside... (like more than two years of emails from the entire whitehouse between 2002-2005 FACT) site yours sir.

5 days, 10 minutes, democracynow.org, a discussion "what is false or propaganda about their headlines"- your words... not too hard, specially for one so passionate about truth as you.

As usual Mr. Cdog offers no factual rebuttal to my points.

I rely on my own research before making a statement in this, or any other blog. Much of talk radio is conservative. SO???? They, unlike all other media sources are honest about the point of view. The truth can come for either a conservative or a liberal. It just seems to come much more clearly from conservatives.

Like it or not, that seems to also be a fact.

fair and balanced???

whitehouse propaganda personnel as newscasters???

retired generals who lied to viewers pushing us to support a war in Iraq which now 3 of 4 people agree was wrong to begin???

this your idea of fact? better try upping your dose!

I'm just saying, try researching in public record, or in listening to the newsMAKERS... not the viewsfakers.

lets see if we can agree on this... the role of a newscaster is to gather information and present the facts without preference. A commentator submits his opinion based on examining the facts and presenting the source as basis for comment... the legitimacy of a commentator is in his/her ability to knowledgably and factually discuss the facts - without using a teleprompter-

is that true?

who do you source from who does this?

comeon dose... you obviously care.... why must you fall back on your talk radio crutch? Step up and discuss... no teleprompter...

Dog, just because what you believe in also happens to be regurgitated by liberal spinmeisters doesn't make it true. "whitehouse propaganda personnel as newscasters???" I assume that you are referring to George Stafanopolus. Of is it Chris Matthews? Or the late Tim Russert? Or DeeDee Meyers? The point is that far, far more Dems have ended up on news TV as reporters and newscasters than have conservatives. BTW, Amy Goodman uses a Teleprompter. I've seen far more liberal political analysts on FoxNews than I have seen conservative analysts on all of the big three TV networks combined. I've seen far more "mini-debates" on FoxNews than I see on, say, Democracy Now. What prominent conservatives have been on Democracy Now without either being off-set by a liberal or challenged by the estimable Ms Goodman? BTW, you yourself have admitted that Democracy Now tilts liberal.

Again, Dog, if Democracy Now wasn't playing into your biases you'd hate it as much as you hate Fox News. If they weren't telling you exactly what you wanted to hear you'd not waste your time watching it. To be sure, as a conservative I find little of interest in it or in big three network TV news. I, like Dose, prefer to scan a variety of internet news sources to find what news affects me and interests me. For my taste, talk radio is just too much arguing with little purpose. I'll listen to a bit of Sykes and Limbaugh, but rarely more than an hour and often considerably less. An iPod full of traditional bluegrass music gets me through my day.

But let me ask the wise and learned ColbyDog, what CONSERVATIVE news sources do you use in order to make a reasoned decision on the validity of conservative viewpoints?

bash... comparing Rove to Stephanopoulos... is laughable. Rove dropped out of college to head up the college racist anti hippie movement... Turd Blossom has been corrupting our nation ever since. He is an immoral hack, a liar and should be sharing a waterboard at Gitmo, not using a mic on FOX to defend his policy of using them on anyone else.

Kristol and his father founded the neoconservative thinktanks and mindset that hijacked the RNC from our citizens... Stephenapolus, Matthews and Russert did not earn their places of power though what devious and unscrupulous ways they could find to abuse power... I dare you to defend Frank Luntz, Bill Kristol, Tom Delay and Karl Rove as anything but greedy, immoral power-freaks. Look at their Curium Vitae.

But let me be clear, I don't much like Carville, Matthews and Stephanapolis either- but I respect them boatloads more than colmes, hannity, rush, bill and sean tucker. They are either corrupt (RNC) or corruptable (DNC).

I set my news aggregators to pick up stories from AP, BBC, the major daily newspapers. I subscribe to free
press and indy news sources and I actively challenge stories I find inconsistent with fact and reason... so alot these days. How bout you?

Comparing Stephenapolus to a genuine reporter is what is laughable. The same goes for Matthews. Yet, the nets that they work for present them as somehow unbiased reporters. They most certainly are not. I have never seen Rove presented as an objective source. I've also never seen Bob Beckel presented as an objective source. Both are clearly introduced as having bias. Oftentimes, I've seen both "balanced" by an opposing viewpoint either during their presentation or following it. Yet, Stephenapolus and Matthews and Bill Schneider et al are often put on by their nets as generic analysts when clearly they are not. Russert was the only one, IMHO, who managed to shed his partisan background. Having "BoyGeorge" on Sunday AM's as some sort of unbiased inquisitor is laughable.

I scan a variety of web pages. I don't use an aggregator. Too old fashioned, I guess. Typically, my news sources tilt to the right. But when a story that I read there piques my interest, I always go as far as I can to get to the source material. What I sometiems find is a story that I read on a conservative web site is sourced from a partial quote extracted out of context. I can only assume that liberals do that as well. I also find that the Drudge Report has morphed into an amazingly balanced digest of news. Drudge hasn't been breaking much on his own lately. Most of what appears there is links to other mainstream publications.

Also, when something is making news in the mainstream, I try to background it from my own research. This is especially true with economic and business news. I find that most news reporting reflects the incredible economic ignorance we see these days.

I respect your opinion... I never said stephanapolis carville or mathews WERE reporters... but I still respect them more than Rove , Kristol and Luntz. They don't have an agenda beyond ego and wealth... the neocons are trying to legitimize their legacy. By becoming a household friend that slimeball pig rove is again reshaping his perception... however on an international scale.

Now about Drudge.... so I went there... are you kidding???

that is the dumbest website I've ever seen! Specially from a guy who said Amy Goodman and DN are too plain! What the heck is that site?

The stories are equally ridiculous...
Dwarf accused of pimping teen???
Facebook challenges MySpace???
Tireless Driver picked up on DUI???
Obama inspires runway model looks?

you've just lost me here... LOL!!!

Well the presidential erection cycle has gone into the final stretch. In some of the most violent conventions since 1968, the people have again seen their rights trampled under the boots and battions of a brutal police force. Meanwhile inside, thousands of hysterical fans screamed like it was the Beatles as their choices for office took the stages. Have both parties sold out to Big Media and Multinationals? Does anyone in the US care? Lets hope people are doing more than watching TV to form their opinion. The stakes are becoming incredibly high in this rapidly globalized world... where decisions made now effect the entire planet and all its inhabitants... Are you choosing experience or what TV tells you is experience? Poncias Pilate was a Governor and Jesus, a community organizer. Beware the false prophets.
