"I HAVE NO IDEA WHO HE IS?"

Joe BidenTalking about Joe Biden.  And that was one young woman's response when asked about Barack Obama's JUST ANNOUNCED choice for Vice President.( according to Associated Press, also reported by Fox News Channel etc.)

Clearly she has not been following American politics... for Biden was among the handful of names in the pool.   The nation was to learn TOMORROW(Saturday) the name of Obama's running mate.  Someone leaked the info tonight as we were about to go on the air for the 10pm news.   So much for all those standing by waiting to hear by text!!

"What do you think of the choice????"   That was the buzz on set and in the newsroom.  That's the question in tonight's blog.   What do YOU think of the choice?   And if you're John McCain whom do you now pick for your running mate?

To answer the Fox 11 News viewer who made the statement:  "I don't even know who he is?!" ... Here's Senator Biden's website: biden.senate.gov.   The front page says "Meet Joe Biden."   (Should a 65 year old veteran politician with 30 years in the senate need a front page that says "MEET so-and-so??)  Apparently so.   In a possible defense of the viewer.  We guess she is young, maybe in her early 20's... shall we assume she is engrossed in college, or work or a life that has politics on the backburner?  Or could we all use a lesson in Biden 101?

With that in mind.  Expect the next few months to be full of education on why Obama selected Biden, what they offer as team, and why Americans should vote for them.   As of tonight, Obama's site, barackobama.com, had no mention of the veep choice.   Stay tuned!

P.S.  With the Democratic convention getting underway, see my colleague John Schwada's blog and live reports.

what a great choice(for McCain) how do you run an entire campaign on change and then pick a running mate who is a career politician? not only that it also makes Obama look like he needs someone who has been around to help him do his job because hes not to sure of himself..then to cinch it Biden is another liberal so that wipes out all the garbage Obama was trying to pass himself off as a moderate.oh and lets not forget Hillary's people who just found out she was never even in the running..how do you think they are going to take that on top of Obama stealing the best chance for a woman president ..as a republican i think it was a great choice..

The Far-Left talk radio is now acknowledging that The Dali Bama campaign is imploding. They're only left with attacking Juan "Z-Visa" McCain's age, which is a valid issue. Will that be enough? The Dali Bama should have picked Tony Villar or Cynthia McKinney. Hillary supporters must be going nuts right now...

Really, if we live in a just world, this will be the end of Joe Biden's political career. On Barack Obama:

“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

"Articulate". "Mainstream". "Bright and clean".

It's clear his career has dragged on one election cycle too many.

First of all, Senator Joe Biden is the best choice for vice president. He will bring a lot of strength to an Obama administration.

Secondly, by choosing Biden as his running mate, Barak has shown that he's able to make tough decisions and include different minds, rather than be a typical politician and choose someone based upon popularity and compatibility.

Let's face it, folks. Put away your bias, your racial differences and your ignorance. The future of this country can not continue to be fashioned with mainstream hypocrisies. The Bush administration has failed this country on every level, in every aspect of what this country stands for. But all of their faults seems to get watered down and soup mixed into a legacy of admiration.

When are people going to stop pretending that things aren't as bad as they may appear and realize that this country is in complete dire straits?

It is time for a change in how our government does business. It is time for us to let go of the fear mongering and all of the negativity. Because for all of things that has been said of Obama's lack of experience, the same can be said of the current president, whom many of you honestly think is a good president? Now, how much of a hypocrite can you be?

No, let's change that. Barak Obama will bring about a great and satisfactory change for the United States. And with Joe Biden, as vice president, the credibility of the United States will come from out of the shadows of debt (11 trillion and counting) and bring regain the respect of being a leading country. Republicans might think of Obama's choice to be something a bit desperate. However, they are the ones who are desperate. Because among those leading "guys", there are no strong candidates to choose from.

The only strong republican that can remotely balance out a McCain administration is Colin Powell. That's it. He's their only shot.

McCain is not an effective leader. He's more of a puppet than George W. Plus the fact that he's stuck in a time zone.

McCain will do more damage than good, because he's damaged goods. The only way to solidify his administration is by having a strong vice president who can give him a second opinion.

And who's going to do that? Mitt Romney? Lieberman?

Come on! How are the republicans going to bring a strong ticket that would either match or beat Obama/Biden? Those two guys are complete opposite of each other, but share the desire for change. They can easily compliment, as well as compromise each other's attributes and bring about a very powerful administration. If McCain does not seek out or even try to choose Powell, as his running mate, the republican party is going to look like a joke.

Craftguy, I could less about liberals and conservatives and all of the bull that streams from your mouths. This is politics. And if you're not careful of how to play the game, then the end result will hinder our future generation.

You see, the fight between liberals and conservatives has always been about social differences. Unfortunately, this had lead to a huge crack in the foundation of this country.

Why is our educational system so jacked up? Why is our healthcare system so jacked up? Why are our economical system, energy and overall infrastructure so tainted, that it only is compromised to appease the wealthy and disenfranchise the middle class, while leaving the poor degraded?

In case you missed the report, american lives have lost value. The only question that I have is; since when was a dollar figure placed on american lives?

Conservatives are fear freaks. Liberals are push overs. Both should be in an institution. Because neither of you has a clue as to how to stablize this country.

But you see, Craftguy, Barak is a different type of politician. I'm glad that he has people scared. Because that means that he has their attention. All of this negative "jive" about Barak doing any worse than George W. Bush is simply repugnant. However, I'm glad that he has people's attention. Because maybe, just maybe, people will start paying more attention to the issues and not allow for their racial and gender bias prove them to be that much of a hypocrite.

If McCain gets in office, you can expect more of a Reagan type administration. And th

If McCain gets in office, you can expect more of a Reagan type administration. And that might appear to be good news for republicans, but it's bad news for the middle class. Because somebody has to pay for this trillion dollars deficit, left and caused by the previous administation. And with this continued invasion of Iraq and war with Afghanistan, not to mentioned the tension with Russia and Iran, the U.S. can expect to spend more of its hard earn money, internationally. Further widening the crack in our foundation and leaving citizens bankrupt.

I don't see McCain doing any better than George W. Bush. His administration would only be solidified if he has Colin Powell as his vice president. And no, I'm not saying that because Colin is a Black Man. Race and ethnicity has nothing to do with. That's so 50's and beyond, until you would to be a complete idiot, in today's time, to judge someone because of their race or skin color. But Colin Powell can bring a lot of much needed character to a McCain administration. Anyone else will make John McCain look like a joke.

Whether people like Barak Obama or Joe Biden or not, these two guys together are powerful. And the Obama administration is truly going to bring class back to the seat of the president.

Does anyone honestly think that George W. Bush did a good job as president? I mean, what was his greatest accomplishment? And you want for people to trust another republican, after eight years of this garbage? Yeah right.

Craftguy, here's one for you.

What is gullible, mostly white, scared and is always choking on its own vomit?

The answer? A republican.

It's funny that you would call Obama a liar, as if to say that George W. Bush and his father, George H.W. Bush Sr., Ronald Reagan and even Richard Nixon has never told a lie.

It is because of these four horsemen that the integrity of the United States has always been called into question. So, why are you being such a hypocrite and want to speak down about Obama, when all politicians are potential liars? If you would like, we can talk some serious politics. You may never want to be a conservative again. Because that's all republicans are. Conservative liars. But let's talk about change.

Conservatives don't like change, because it goes against being, well, "conservative". But can you honestly expect for this country to continue being in the same mindset, without taking any responsibility for the many errors and poor judgements the U.S. has caused? It is that way of thinking that makes you a hypocrite.

For example, the Bush administration opposes Russia's invasion of the country of Georgia. They have made a strong protest against Russia's attitude and said that this sort of thing should not happen in this century.

But hold up! Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? Because as I recall, the U.S. invaded Iraq and was lied to by the Bush administration, which has caused a huge debacle in our foreign policy. How can conservatives feel comfortable supporting a lie, while at the same time oppose any k

How can conservatives feel comfortable supporting a lie, while at the same time oppose any kind of real change, that would at least bring back some integrity to how we deal with domestic and foreign issues? I guess if you tell a lie, then it's best that you stick with that lie, until it finds truth. However, the only way to find truth in a lie is to first find change. Would you like for me to elaborate?

All I can say is enjoy the show, cause this Democrapic party is putting on big smiles, false facades and promises intended to be broken and forgotten. Biden is a windbag who doesn't have breaks on his lips and Obama is naked Marxist pushing racial overtones to gain office. He doesn't represent all Americans, just a select group and mindless liberal hordes who instead of voting ought to learn how to read and write. Want to hear the real truth Christine, see my political response blog to Miss Yvonne Burke's blog this last weekend. I hope she didn't waste our taxpayer dollars for her Denver trip, cause this city needs lots of things fixed including county properties too.

It has been my honor to work(anchor 10pm news) at Fox 11 news since 1990(yes, I started when I was 2!) Jokes aside, Fox 11 has allowed me to continue my passion for knowledge and education. My parents were both educators and stressed "knowing about our world." They were aid workers in Brazil(my heritage) and Africa and emphasized a caring for community. I love coming to work each day and being a part of "what's new." Fox 11 has allowed me to serve through our Wednesday's Child program. Our goal, to help children in foster care... who will end up on the streets at 18... find permanent safe homes. Through WC we are using the power and outreach of TV to find adoptive homes for children in GREAT need. My parents were foster parents and adopted one boy. I was adopted by my step-dad, which gave me the name "Devine." At home, I enjoying cooking and fitness. I have a new puppy for the first time since high school and am completely in love. (and with my fiance too!)
