People often tell us the media focuses on too many negative stories.  That's why I was so glad to have a positive story to tell you about.  Tuesday night at 10PM, I featured a Sheboygan County teen who cops are hailing a hero.  16-year-old Alex Gilliam took a loaded gun away from another teen who was threatening his girlfriend.  Alex and his mom talked to Fox 6.  You can see the story in its entirety here on our website.

I did see that story what an amazing individual. I can tell you that to save a life is an unforgettable experience. My hat goes off to this young individual who didn't think twice about putting his life in danger to save another. I can honestly say I don't know many who would have done the same. What a special young man. I can only imagine how grateful the young woman must be. I'll never forget my first patient who was a code blue patient....having our team bring him back. Having the individual tell our med team....to the world you may be just one person but to one person you may just mean the world. I still carry this man's memory with me each and everyday. I only hope that this young man understands his incredible actions and how special he is to this woman. What an inspiration to us all.
