Check out my story from Friday night on the Hartford man accused of driving to Racine to sexually assault a 12-year-old girl he met on a telephone chat line.  The girl's mom has a very important message to other parents.   There is also a video link if you click "more info" that provides more information about how that mom was able to get the man arrested.

Hey, we all can learn something from that woman in Racine. Stuff like this is happens to young kids any day, anywhere, and/or at anytime.

Now please don't get me wrong, the girl shouldn't have been talking on no telephone chat line and I believe the mother was right for saying that her daughter knew what she did was wrong and she is trying to help her and get her to understand that telephone chat lines is not what she should be getting involved in at the age she is now. She has to wait until she get older, but until then, she would have to do it the old fashioned way; meet people in person.

Some males out here can tell a female anything and they can do anything to a female if you are not careful, let along don't know everything you need to know about that male.

Now parents can't always monitor their children when they are on the internet, or on the telephone, or wherever they go 24/7, but I think at 12-Years-Old, at some point you have to be able to make responsible decisions on your own like an adult does and you have to think twice and long and hard before you do something that could help you in most situations or that could hurt not just yourself, but your family as well in some other cases.

In the end, the mother told the daughter to re-dial the number, talk to him like she would talk to with any other normal person, but she made plans to do a little visit.

What the mother did sort of dangerous, but then again also heroic too to protect her daughter and she called plenty of friends and or family who had cars, met up at a Piggly Wiggly in Racine, the 12-Year-Old Girl recognized the car the Hartford man drives, caught the person, blocked him in and made sure he was going nowhere and called police.

The Hartford man calls himself calling the police too, but it wasn't working because now they put him behind bars with 200 Years if he is convicted.

I think we all can learn something from the Racine woman with the 12-Year-Old Daughter. Regardless of however a child turns when become a teen, you still have to keep your eyes on them and never let your guard down for a second and protect them at all cost.

PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOUR KIDS ARE DOING ON-LINE. It may save you a lot of grief later.

Oh wow, that IS really disturbing.
I thought he drove down to meet her once and got caught, she did it three times before her mom found out?

I can't even get a C and not tell my parents, I don't know how she could live with herself with that secret . . . yuck.

I have a very important message for the Mom. A TWELVE YEAR OLD GIRL SHOULD NOT BE ON LINE CHATTING!

CHILDREN SHOULD NOT BE ON LINE AT ALL UNSUPERVISED! There are many programs out there designed for the safety of children who must use the internet (homework). These programs filter the information available to your CHILD. You invested in a pc, now invest a little more money to keep your children safe!

MsTigger,
You are so right! No child should ever be online unsupervised. Never! Any parent who lets their child use the internet alone, and by themselves should be charged with child abuse. If you can not be there,do not let them use the pc. It is really that simple!
