Ok, you're probably going to make fun of me.  But I do have a weekly guilty pleasure.  I never miss "Desperate Housewives."  I was wondering if the Hollywood strike would effect that show and today, I learned it will.  The cast and crew is wrapping up filming of the last episode before the strike.  That means we will have reruns to look forward to early next year until the strike ends.  I also learned that "24" and many other shows will start showing reruns indefinetely after the first of the year.  I guess that means I should try to find another guilty pleasure.

I'm sorry man, but I don't have time to watch no reruns. If they're not going to play the all new episodes, then it's just not meant to be watched at all. It's worse than cancelling shows.

I might as well just go back towards my video games again. At least I don't have to watch or play them back to back after I beat them. This is a joke and so is Hollywood.

I could certainly handle a rerun of Letterman ripping Paris Hilton apart. That alone is worth the strike to me!

YES! Another Desperate Housewives "closet fan", well not anymore right! My husband and I love that show. I won't watch reruns unless it's one that I missed. But the networks might be in danger of losing some viewers because what I usually end up doing is turning the channel and watching the reruns of a different show that I never watched before. I have in the past switched to having a new favorite!

OMGosh Lovinlife - wasn't that interview just hysterical! Letterman really should air that in November - it would help his sweeps rating for sure!

Desperate Housewives is great. I love the humor on that show.

Yep - most shows will be affected by the strike. For impact, the writers probably choose November due to rating sweeps.

Look folks, you just can't look at it from folks who you think are selfish money grabbing people. Most writers are hard working individuals who, in fact, aren't making that much money and some aren't even making nary a residual on the work they pour their heart and soul into. Some only see .03 to .04 cents for every DVD sold and some don't see ANYTHING for the web work they produce. Times change and the past agreements they've had just aren't sufficient for the work they are asked to do.

If you truly like what they do, just be patient at let this work out....your shows will be back, trust me....

Pete - I read back in this blog ... I fail to see anyone looking "at it from folks who you think are selfish money grabbing people". No one said they were not hardworking. And no one said they are money-grabbing. Strikes happen for a reason and I hope that they can reach an amicable settlement.

Yeah Ms Tigger I even felt a teeny, tiny bit sorry for her. But it passed very quickly. He let her have it good! ;)

I'm not just referring to folks solely in this "blog"....it just seems like the mainstream media is blowing this WAY out of proportion....the writers, many of whom DON'T receive a dime on anything done on work for the Internet, want to be properly compensated for that work as well as credited...

They are also only asking that their share of the DVD profits go up from .04 cents per copy to .08....I don't think that's asking too much....

Until this season, I have largely left my TV off, watching only news shows, football or NASCAR....I found myself more than ever setting my DVR for shows like Journeyman, How I Met your Mother, Two and A Half Men, Bionic Woman....and when it returns....Battlestar Galactica...all because of the writing and acting....

I'm supporting the WGA this go 'round....and I'll be waiting for my favorite shows when they return....

I myself am upset by all this. I am a huge Desperate Housewives fan, as well as Greys Anatomy.... I rarely go anywhere when the snow hits, which leaves me up to my amazing shows that help me get thru the COLD weather! And, now there isnt going to be any more new epi's!!! Lets go make a settlment already on this!!!!
