So which causes backups: the mis-timed traffic lights, or half of the people in their cars not paying attention?

Why is it that no matter what time of day I travel, I always end up behind some sweet, elderly lady trying to go to the grocer at ten MPH under the speed limit in the left lane?

Why is it that people will sit in a left turn lane, controlled by a 5 lamp light that reads green, with no oncoming traffic?

If gas is a nickel cheaper on the other side of the street on my way to work, why is it the same price both ways on my way home?

Why does the landscape company who handles JYP north of I4 insist on parking their vehicles in the travel lanes with no warning that the lane is blocked during rush hour?

If the Turnpike Commission is willing to put windshield washing stations up in service plazas, why isn't the Toll Authority putting up car washes?

Any thoughts or other questions why?

because the toll authority wants to waste money in their way, NOT by helping the commuter. the ones in the left lane are probably texting.most backups are caused by people switching lanes at the last minute cause they think the other lane is moving faster, thus slowing down that lane for the people behind them. it's the same for the lastminute cutins on the interstate, by waiting and cutting in they slow everybody up, and the backup accumulates.

You can be on an expressway, the driver in front of you is 6 car lengths behind the vehicle in front of them and the driver in front of you is on the brakes for no reason. Why?

In Metro West on Hiawassee between Raleigh & Old Winter Garden Rd why are over half the sprinklers watering the road?

Why are Lynx buses permitted to stop in the roadway to load/unload passengers?

JYP south of I 4, the sprinklers there are all screwed up, and have been for over a year!

My girlfriend has a convertible, don't get me started on bad sprinklers...

Cops driving around during rush hour making people very nervous and they slow wayyyyyy down and are afraid to pass a cop even if they are only doing the speed limit.
Cops during rush hour means backups!!!

I've been in Orlando since 93 and those sprinklers on Hiawassee in Metro West have been that way ever since I've been here. Seems like every 3 or 4 years that road is getting repaved. Wonder why.

As for cops during rush hour traffic, why are people so scared to pass a cop. If the cop is doing under the posted speed limit, I'll pass 'em. What's the cop going to pull me over for, doing the posted speed limit.

The ones that drive me nuts are the people that cut into the left turn lane. These are the most arrogant, ignorant buttheads I've ever encountered!

Mis-timed traffic lights is a major problem in this area to be sure. I wish this area would catch up with where multiple Detroit suburbs were back in the 1970's.

Another problem is the lack of viable secondary routes. In other cities you can more readily pick another way to get to a given destination. Often in Orlando there is only one readonable way to get to any given location due to the lack of seondary roads.

Also Orlando has far too many lights on its main drags. Instead of developing service drives and directing traffic to fewer lights, they just add light after light. I know a one mile stretch on Kirkman where they added SIX more lights in such a small distance!

Other than that, IDIOT drivers contribute - but I'm not sure this is any WORSE than any other major city LOL
