Here we go again...... BP closed down their largest refinery in AK because of leeking and corroded pipes. That I can understand. Now because of this lack of doing any type of preventiave maintenance the consumers will be paying the price at the pump. I aks what happened to the large profits they were bragging about this last quarter? Shouldn't BP take the loss instead of you and me? I mean after all they caused the problem not the consumer. They chose to ignore or attemped to insure this type of prombem wouldn't pop up. If you were to ignore to preform any type of maintenance on your home or vehicle, who would be responsable? Who would have to pay for it, not them cause it was your fault. Why isn't it BP's fault? Why don't they pay for their screw up instead of passing the buck onto us? Because our gov. allows it, Isn't about time corps. paid for their own screw ups ? I say yes!!!

We should push our politicians for a SERIOUS development of alternative fuels/vehicles and then we could close down more of those death toxin factories and we wouldn't be at the oil companies' mercy any more. Not to mention it would solve some of our problems with the Middle East, going broke to buy gas, and giving people cancer because the fuel tanks in the neighborhood station leak into our ground water. We'd have a stronger economy, less worries, and cleaner air and water (so less cancer, etc.) Win win win for all of us.
