Shovel for your dogs

Greetings all,
Just a friendly reminder to shovel a pathway for your dog and watch out when putting salt down. I only had a little of the (pet friendly) salt down but my dog still hurt his paw (he is ok now). It is easy with a snowblower but even hand shovelling a path will go a long way. I have a small dog now (he is about 30 pounds) but even when we had the bigger dogs (80-90 pounds) I would still make a path for them.

Salt experiment

I tried an experiment today. I salted my driveway and sidewalk before the snow to see if that will 1-help with the shovelling and 2-to see if it will keep it from sticking. I forgot about the rain though. Will have to see what happens.

Now is a good time to plan where you would take your pets if you have to evacuate. Please do not wait until the last minute. You do not want any Katrina style problems.
