Football season is almost over. Time to start concentrating on the other sports out there. Watching the news sometimes I think that the Packers are the only sports team out there. Do not even get me started on Favre and the overexposure the news gives to him.

I will start. Anyone else think a salary cap is a good idea in baseball? As it goes right now the Yankees seem to think the rest of the league is their minor league team. As for the national media - ever notice they only think there are four or five teams and no one else exists? Time Warner is going to have a channel dedicated to baseball. My dad cannot wait.

Reading some of these comments about Brett Farve's retirement is amusing. Some people think he is a "coward" and others think the Packers organization is an "evil empire" for not doing everything to sign him. Some people are saying they will no longer support the team because of it. Excuses are being made and accusations are being thrown. What it comes down to though is that based on Brett Farve's own words he is tired. He has been doing this 17 years. I think the man is entitled to stop. To go out a winner. How many times have you seen sports starts go way past their time? Would you really want that for Farve and the Packers? What happens if he came back and next year had a bad season? Injuries or whatever?

If you are truly a Packers fan you will support Brett Farve's decision. Wish him well and support the team next year with a new quarterback. Before being overly critical of the "new guy" just remember how Farve started out.

This will be very controversial. I am for it. The reason? Some of the calls the umps made this year were just horrible. At times (especially with Atlanta) there were calls that at best were mistakes and at worse......   You get the idea. I know the purists will hate this just like they hated interleague play and some of the ideas Selig has put forth that have worked very well.

I love the argument "human element". Let's talk again when you team loses a game based on a "human element" call. Let's see how you like the officiating then.

I cannot stand Frank Caliendo. I usually walk out of the room when he is doing his pick predictions on the Fox pregame show.  He is annoying and grating. Why is he needed to make predictions anyway?

I went to the chat room Fox 6 had set up for the Brewers on Saturday (22 Sept). I could not believe the childishness of some of the people posting comments! Profanity, threats, name calling - a certain group of posters were very childish and seemingly proud of it! Tom Pipines and Jerry Augustine were even called nasty names. Why? Because they were making comments that certain people did not agree with. So instead of coming up with intelligent ways to counter what was being said some people resorted to nasty name calling.  No wonder no one from 6 stayed on.  I have seen my 8 year old niece act more adult than some of these people.  I understand a lot of it is because of the anonymous factor but still.....   I think that Fox 6 should change the chatroom and not let you comment anonymously but instead use the login for these forums.

I know some people feel they cannot get their point across unless they use profanity and name calling but come on. All it does it make the person commenting look stupid. Because of that any comments they make are usually ignored. Anyone else think that way?

While watching the game tonight my dad heard the announcer say something about Jose Bautista having a Brewers connection but did not hear what it was. Looking online I could not find anything. Does anyone know the connection? Thanks.

Hello,

I know little about soccer (my limited exposure comes from a team that no longer exists - the Tampa Bay Rowdies!) and have what is probably a dumb question but that has never stopped me from asking before.

I read that David Beckham recently played for England. I thought he was recently let go from Real Madrid to play in the US? Are there multiple leagues (such as when Brewers were playing in the off season in Latin America and Australia)?

Thanks!

I have been told that I am very opinionated. Not necessarily true but I am not afraid to speak my mind. I am very much anti "sheeple" and believe that people need to think and question why. I do not believe in blind faith or blindly following anything without question (including but not limited to religion and politics).
