HOW TO
TREAT OTHERS WITH RESPECT

Treating people with respect makes your world a nicer place to live in, whether it's at home, at school, or out in your community. And it's easy - all you have to do is treat people the way you like to have them treat you. Here are a few ideas.

Don't insult people or make fun of them.
Listen to others when they speak.
Value other people's opinions.
Be considerate of people's likes and dislikes.
Don't mock or tease people.
Don't talk about people behind their backs.
Be sensitive to other people's feelings.
Don't pressure someone to do something he or she doesn't want to do.

We live in a diverse nation made up of many different cultures, languages, races, and backgrounds. That kind of variety can make all our lives a lot more fun and interesting, but only if we get along with each other. And to do that we have to respect each other. In addition to the list above, here are some ways we can respect people who are different from us.

Try to learn something from the other person.
Never stereotype people.
Show interest and appreciation for other people's cultures and backgrounds.
Don't go along with prejudices and racist attitudes.

And these rules should be for bloggers too - the nastiness and name-calling on some blogs is terrible!

I agree with this blog Cat- but sadly too many times my " carnal nature" gets in the way of doing what I know Jesus would have me do- I guess this what paul meant when he said " I sin daily" I hate to sin- I do alot of repenting- one day God will be done with me and I won't sin any more- oh happy day

AMEN!!! Those were some of the simple rules I was brough up with and my mother followed. This is something that should be taught in school since parents don't seem to teach it at home anymore. Very nice!

Yea I know but I feel as though that should be taught just as though I feel God should not be taken out of school. I understand that not all kids are brought up knowing, loving, worshiping, and believing in God, but we are not forcing them to take a religion course. It's the pledge of allegance. They do not have to say the words, under God, but respect the fact that you are in our country and have the proper respect for it....people immigrate here for a reason and the pledge states that reason very clearly. but just my opionion and sorry got off topic for a second.

There is never a time when these are not needed. If nothing else, we can all be reminded!

It is not what happens to you that counts. It is how you react to what happens to you, especially when you have unexpected problems of any kind. Every day may not be good, but there's something good in every day.
