Hello all, anyone looking for some fun things to do this summer and you enjoy history or would like to learn more, why not do some volunteer work at the 1820 Col. Benjamin Stephenson House in Edwardsville, IL. History is a lot more fun when you actually get a chance to partiscipate rather than just reading about it. Call 618-692-1818 or stop by the house which is located at 409 S. Buchanan, P.O. Box 754, Edwardsville, IL. 62025 for further information.

My husband Ralph and I make by hand colonial Windsor chairs starting from a green red oak log. We use antique and reproduced hand tools with very little electric or modern equipment. If you stop by our shop you can see wood being steam bent, chopped and shaped into Windsor chairs. Ralph is also the towns Santa Claus. City Hall has a special place set up for Santa to visit with the children to hear their Christmas wishes and have their photo taken. There is no cost and you can even use his camera if you do not have one yourself. He also plays Santa "Paws" for the local Vet here in town. The photo I'm attaching is of him with our Jack Russell Terrier we call Windsor. So come on up to Clarksville sometime to see what all there is to do. The towns web site is; www.ClarksvilleMO.US We also belong to a British Grenadier military reenacting group where we portray the French & Indian War era. If you enjoy history, you can find out more about our group by going to; www.1stRoyals.org. There is lots to do and see here through out the year. So to everyone at KTVI and Missouri, we hope to see you here soon. Best Regards, Caron Quick
