Just wondered how you guys felt about the news item that indicates troubled and failing Washington Mutual's CEO of 18 DAYS will be leaving with 13.65 MILLION DOLLARS in severance?  Reckon he's a member of the old boy's club?  Thoughts?

Reckon he's a crook just like the others...he just happens to get his take at the end of the fiasco.

Another fine example of America's white collar businessmen without integrity.

well, to be honest with it all, I'd like to know what the criteria is for getting a plush job and a nice severance package of this nature in such a short period od time... I need to see if I can fit in the criteria and grab me a "Piece of the rock"...

Well, for goodness sake, boys and girls...you've just gotta know the right people..you know, have some buds...you know... you cover my keester, I cover your keester? You scratch my back, I scratch your back? I think this old time thinking and deal making had better end before Americans scream to the high heavens. Separately, we "ain't" much... together, we are powerful. This type of corporate thievery had better end because these buzzards have robbed the american people BLIND. Every last one of them MUST be FIRED and leave with NOTHING. If this man had been successful, 13.65 million dollars is STILL waaaay too much and is unacceptable. If he had been successful, 2 million should have been his "Thank you for your great brain and energy." We, the american people, have to get a handle on these abuses of the capitalist system by executives and buddies. We do NOT toss out the system....we toss out the bums abusing it.

Ave, in response to your last mess. I think we should all see what the details in the bailout" are so we will see if any accountability and punishment are entailed. We know from last weeks's news that the FBI will be looking into Fannie, Freddie, Lehman Brothers and AIG but what about WaMU? This is why we still need to be bothering our Congresspeople re accountability and what do WE get out of this?

Also, does the $13 million come solely from the investor? I so that does not affect us.

I'd like to know who we turn the dough over to and his/her position and WHOM "we the people" authorize as AUDITORS of what the thugs do with the dough...TRAIL, TRAIL...must have a trail for every single DIME of that money. How much you wanna bet we gets lots of huff and puff and not ONE real explanation and follow-up. Don't forget to watch the VP candidates tonight....I am not sure I can take much of Palin...but I will try. Remember Katie Couric's question regarding which newspapers etc. were Palin's favorites.. Heavens to mergatroid, she could not name one....bet she reads "Holy Roller Times" and "Kill from a Kopter Mag" and could not readily remember the names. I have to chuckle...I wonder what Katie Couric was thinking...the look on her face was of pure shock and disbelief. Oh well...Biden has a rep for putting his foot in his mouth, so let's hope he keeps a handle on himself tonight.
