Well, folks....I suppose you read the blog that I wrote regarding the fact that Obama stated that he wanted to donate a couple of million to Georgia...and I don't mean OUR Georgia.  I was pretty ticked off by that remark because we, the American taxpayer, had nothing to do with the fact that we are not to blame for Russia's actions.  Well...can you believe it that the republicans have pledged a BILLION dollars to Georgia...and I don't mean OUR Georgia.  Sigh.  The asylum inmates are still in charge.

AveMaria22:

In that Georgia has pledged to be our allies, I can agree with a couple of million. What I don't understand is; the Billions that have been pledged by the incumbent administration especially when Russia still have troops and ships in place on Georgia's territory.

I honestly think Bush is on a Billion dollar kick if you include Iraq into the formula...

What do you see as an alternative?

Hitler started pretty much like Putin is now. Nip it in the bud, or wait till it takes a thousand times more resources from many countries.

I suggested bombing Moscow BIGTIME while much of his focus was on the invasion of Georgia, which would take the wind out of his sails and citizens of Russia would remove him for his mistakes. Russia has been a war-like country for a thousand years, so it may be something in the water.

Link please? I can't find anything about it. If they are doing this, I would like to read their reasoning.

Looks as though you would like to [really] start World War III.

I can see you being President.... Like Bush and John McCain't... "bomb, nuke, nuke bomb this and that. Don't stop, don't stop the feeling"

You aren't a student of history? Look up "Hitler" before continuing to look like an unread liberal hack. See how He started, and how many lives were lost by people just like you who sat on their hands.

Y3...The American taxpayer cannot afford to just run out and parry..pary??...militarily with every country on this earth. Furthermore, it is not our responsibility to poke our nose into everybody's business. Russia's oil pipeline runs across Georgia and if I were Russia I'd protect the danged thing, too. This is all BS and I'm sick of it. Burglife...Watch the GD news...everything isn't funneled through your danged computer. Y3 Any student of history with any sense knows what the heck the U.S. is doing. We are complete AHs to the rest of the world...we do not seem to know when to sit our arses down and mind our own business...watchful...but keep our mouths shut. This country does nothing but beat the drums and mouth off. We DON'T HAVE a BILLION dollars to give to little countries all over this world. Those are OUR tax dollars and I'm sick of this government giving it away, and BORROWING MORE to give away...and Linebacker, you are so right. The inmates are in charge.

The infrastructure of this country is crumbling and we are giving Georgia a BILLION dollars when there are still Russian troops there, no less....certifiable.

Ave...You said :

"Y3 Any student of history with any sense knows what the heck the U.S. is doing. "

So, we should count you as a "NO" on knowing whats going on then?

Do we need another USSR?
You are like the silent German cowards who did nothing until the SS came knocking at their doors.

WAKE UP.

WHO do you think started MOST of the wasteful giving of our tax dollars to foreign Gov'ts? Bleeding heart libs.

The only reason the US is willing to finacially support Georgia is because the pipelines of oil rolling through that country. Same reason Russia is trying to bully them around.

Y3Y3...trying to bomb this person...and bomb that person. Who's going to pay for this? Yep...our great grand children.

Don't know why you are getting nasty with me AveMaria22. I watch the news every day and still have not heard one word about this and still cannot find anything on the internet.

All I did was ask if you had a link so I could read about it. I fail to see why that should upset you enough to cuss at me.

It's called Humanitarian Efforts. Perhaps it's all stretched a bit, but Georgia is one of our Allies. Would you or anyone turn your back on a friend in need, I mean truly need? I know I would give my shirt off my back to help children/families in such a horrific situation. I would only hope that others would come to our need in dark times. We the American people have always been a savior to many countries, which I believe God will in-turn bless us abundantly as he has in so many ways. The reform is coming in January and I see light at the end of the tunnel, dont you?

I understand humanitarian efforts navymom01, but you don't give someone a billion dollars that you don't have. Thats why I want to see the reasoning behind this pledge.

Our economy is in the toilet, we're now stuck bailing out the mortgage mess that greedy people caused, and now we have to pay for this also?

When I make pledges to charity I pledge what I can afford to pledge. I don't write them a bad check and expect someone else to cover it.

Smooov -

You blathered:

"Y3Y3...trying to bomb this person...and bomb that person. Who's going to pay for this? Yep...our great grand children."

Actually a bombing run is cheap. One plane with a small Nuke. Easy to do, and over soon.

Ask yourself why we should be giving to the UN, who has given billions to corrupt russians, chinese, and Iraqi's and even iranians. They won't even come clean about the accounting of that money.

Y3Y3:

It's obvious you're not versed in military political tactics as I. Believe me, you don't want to start no crap with Russia at this time... Our forces are already thinned out to the point. Besides, talking about history; behind every election this country has had in the 20th and 21st century, some superpower starts a conflict with one of our allies to try and provoke the U.S. into a conflict knowing that we're ill prepared while a new President is elected. An analogy of this is; If you want to rob a bank, the best time to do it is during a shift change of the security guards. Russia knows we're in a vulnerable position and will act on it.

Example: Iranian Hostage Crisis. Carter out Reagan in... Hostages were released before the new President was sworn in because Iran didn't know what "trump card" Reagan was holding or how he would react. Terrorist acts are designed to change the way a country operates & responds and - this is exactly what Russia is doing. Taunting the US while we're in the process of "Changing of The Guards...

Good morning Maria;
Well it looks like this site has become popular with the paid Dem bloggers. LOL
But anyway, Georgia is very important, if for nothing else to show our allies that we would be there for them.

LB, just because you WATCHED the TV doesn't mean you saw facts or understood what you saw.

Ask the Poles what happened in 1968.

Y3...you made an accusation against the German people's "cowardly" lack of doing anything untill the SS came knocking. Right now we ARE the German people. Germany's infrastructure was in a mess, no roads, no jobs, no food...nothing. Hitler came along and just like the two jaybirds running for president right now, made promises to high heaven. The difference is, Hitler organized his "elite" troops and began very quickly to open defense plants, built roads (the autobahn), an auto manufacturing industry... which employed people by the hundreds of thousands...and put bread on every table. There was no reason for anyone to suspect this man who was doing what he promised... until he created one of the greatest armies of all time and equipped them completely. Then...he decided to invade Poland...and it went to hell from there. So, don't call the German people names...they were just like you and me...and to this day, many have expressed fear for the American people....because we are just like them....and a Hitler can happen ANYWHERE.
