For all those who say the Olympics should be about sport and devoid of politics, it seems much of the latter is coming to light just hours before the opening ceremony.  Even our nation's number one fan, President Bush can't help but sound off on China's human rights violations.  The Chinese government quickly responded and basically said, mind your own business.  It would be nice to focus on the athletic talents from the world's best, but we keep hearing about electronic eavesdropping, shuttling protesters far out of sight or worse... and folks banned from China for their actions and beliefs related to Darfur and Sudan.  To be honest, I think the one thing I'm most concerned about for the athletes is the pollution.  Have you seen it? It's so thick you could cut it with a proverbial knife.  It looks like a thick soup hanging over Olympic Stadium.  That can't be good.  Talk about a human rights violation...

The OC's my beat for FOX 11 News. But you can catch me covering just about any story, any place, any time. Have news, will travel! I've been doing that here at Fox 11 for 15 years, traveling coast to coast and south of the border. You never know what you might do or where you might end up and your assignment could change from one minute to the next. To me, that's what being a reporter is all about. And it's pretty cool working in an area where I was born and raised. Yep, I'm a native Angeleno and proud of it!! In case you're wondering, Naipo is Hawaiian, the short version of the 21-letter ancestral name, Naipoikamanaihookaahi....
Good luck on the pronunciation.
