It's August already?  I can't believe this summer is flying by.  In a blink of an eye, July came and went and now the countdown is underway for back to school.  I'm sure the kids don't want to hear that.  Better make the best of the rest of summer.  Going on vacation? Or perhaps you're like many others, fed up with gas prices, so you'll be enjoying a "staycation."  Yep, just kicking it at home.  Not a bad idea.  There's so much to see and do without burning all that fossil fuel.  Hit the beach, a park, take a hike, visit a museum.  Southern California has a lot to offer and a lot of the natural wonder is free or pretty cheap.  Check it out.

Yeah, let's all go visit East Los Angeles. That'll be a cultural experience we soon wouldn't forget...

The OC's my beat for FOX 11 News. But you can catch me covering just about any story, any place, any time. Have news, will travel! I've been doing that here at Fox 11 for 15 years, traveling coast to coast and south of the border. You never know what you might do or where you might end up and your assignment could change from one minute to the next. To me, that's what being a reporter is all about. And it's pretty cool working in an area where I was born and raised. Yep, I'm a native Angeleno and proud of it!! In case you're wondering, Naipo is Hawaiian, the short version of the 21-letter ancestral name, Naipoikamanaihookaahi....
Good luck on the pronunciation.
