Mark Foley's democrat successor caught in sex scandal? Florida congressman Tim Mahoney allegedly paid more than $100,000 to his ex-mistress and former staff aide who sued after he threatened her job.

Mahoney won his congressional seat in 2006 after Republican Mark Foley, a Republican, was forced to resign in the wake of a scandal involving a congressional page.

Mahoney, who is married, started an affair with Patricia Allen while campaigning against Foley on a morality platform. Allen came on to his staff after he won the election in 2006.

Allen tried to break off the affair after learning Mahoney was supposedly cheating on her and his wife with other women. In response to her wanting to end the relationship...Mahoney threatened her job.

"You work at my pleasure," Mahoney told Allen in a taped Jan. 20, 2008, telephone call in which Mahoney also said "I am the judge and jury in this" and "You don't have any say in this."

It's widely argued that Mahoney won in 2006 less on his own merit than because of the scandal surrounding Foley.

What should happen next to Congressman Mahoney, and will the Democratic press and pundits make as big a deal about this they did the Foley scandal?

Either I'm blind or even FOX35 here can't bring themselves to report this story! This man took office after Rep.Foley was caught texting to a page! He was cheating and spending taxpayers/campaign funds to silence his own sexual exploitations!

Today I wear my "I TOLD YOU SO" shirt! Didn't want to discuss the Democrat Studs who actually had sex with a page in his day, sensured, then re-elected TWICE! Never mind that Barney Franks and his Boyfriend who for 9 years ran Fannie Mae, also were busted for running a gay brothel out of their DC home!

Now a Democrat under the banner of truth, was actually doing it with his own pants around his ankles and other than ABC and Fox News, not even FOX35 has the kahonas to put this story up! Someone show me where it is on this site OTHER than this blog!

On the OTHER hand the so called Foley scandal with a page of LEGAL age,, who was JUST reported to be CLEARED of ANY Legal Charge about a week or so ago after TWO Years of Investegation,, was on EVERY News Broadcast,,on EVERY Radio Station and on EVERY Sunday Talk Show for SIX weeks Prior to the LAST election..

Are there no "honest" people left in our country who can be elected to office? Sorry, silly question. I may be mistaken so correct me if I am.. But I think adultery used to be illegal in Florida. Wonder what happened to that law?

Well actually MrHeid, this one is square on the shoulders of the voters. The man's relationship with this woman was already being discussed during his campaign! Conservatives tried to ask how someone could denounce Foley and then vote for another man with extra marital issues. The hypocracy that Democrats put Foley on the front page of every media forum they could, but Mahoney here says its a "personal" issue and a private family matter... And yet, more Democrats will support this man, because the left is all about Agenda first over the people...

Yep.. Lets also remember Barney Franks and his gay brothel, or Jerry Studs who actually had gay sex with a page on travel!

But Democrats can't expect the leaders of their party to police themselves.... At least republicans have a rule that anyone indited, must step down. We STILL have Jefferson with 100K of marked FBI cash, Rangle with tax fraud, etc....

Here's a question for you Abunai : why is the legal age of conscent, in DC , 16 years of age ? I kinda figured it was to make sexual gradification easier for elected officials. In my book they're still kids.

OUR nation is being taken from us this much is clear. My questions now: How do we fight back? What can we do? I see blogs rampit all over the net exposing all this, yet it just gets worse. But most folks don't bother to investigate, nad many don't care. We need to combine our efforts, get organised, and take action to save OUR nation!! I for one am willing to donate my IT skills, multimedia expertise, and server infrastructure to the cause. But websites and blogs, etc are evrywhere, what good will another website do? I used to have a powerful windows media server, but can't afford it anymore. Complaining on the blogs helps us realise we are not alone or simpliy hallucinating, that's a start. But we need to become activists like the left has done. Take back what my Grandfather and Uncle died for!! I served, and have 2 cousins in Iraq (volintary reinlisted for 2nd tour I might add). I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore. I do still have my video studio, maybe I need to put it to good use and begin producing an independent web TV news show...hmmm I have been passionate about what's been going on and interested in polotics since '68, but this post broke my back. Now I'm scared as hell, and and hell bent!!

I think that more people than we realize read these blogs and other forums... The "silent majority" is a very real thing.

Thats why the polls we always see reported usually never reflect the actual outcome.

Example: 2006 Democrats took majority. (mind you they spread the Foley case everywhere and we STILL don't see this Mahoney story even on a Florida FOX affilliate!) History shows that any President on a second term, usually gets a HUGE swing in the House and Senate. While Democrats did receive the majority, it only did so by a FRACTION of what typically happens.

Your mainstream media however would NEVER post that perspective as it would illustrate a trend that could damage the liberal control.

This time, the Democrats AND the pseudo 4th branch of govt. (mainstream media) are being indited. ACORN, Associations, Hypocracy, low approval numbers, etc. Notice how the left does not discuss them.

I tell ya.. if Obama were to actually pull it off and win, and Democrats get stronger in the House and Senate, STAND-BY! What Carter did to us in the 70s will look like peanuts!! (no pun)

Abunai,Barney Franks,as best I recall, was involved in a scandal with his live-in male lover who was turning tricks out of their shared residence. The residence paid for by taxpayers as well. Franks claimed no knowlege,but there was a suggestion that he permitted it go on as long as his jollies were for free. Something like that ? Gotta remember that the New Yorkers elected a carpet-bagger as well, one who needed a more populated stepping-stone. Southern politicians are not without their flies, but that Northern crop seems to spoil a lot quicker !
